Inn On Coventry

Great food, great service and great price. I had the corned beef hash and it was delicious!

We went on a Saturday and waited an hour for food that varied substantially from what was described in the menu, and from typical expectations. For example, "huevos rancheros" in the menu were actually a tiny little breakfast burrito on the plate--no mention of that in the menu. Both breakfasts were missing ingredients listed in the menu, or--per the waitress--the ingredients *were* included, just in such tiny quantities as to be imperceptible. We ordered two egg dishes, and a pancake for breakfast dessert. The pancake came out late and undercooked, but by that point we had already discussed the rest of the food with the waitress and it was clear that nothing would come of mentioning it.In any other restaurant, if food came that late and varied that much from reasonable expectations/descriptions in the menu, they would have offered to comp at least one dish--I've had entire meals comped for less, or been given gift certificates to come back, often without even saying anything, because the staff know when one table has been forgotten or neglected, or everything is running slow. Here, their excuse for the slow service was a full dining room and a lot of door dash orders. I will add that I am a pretty low-maintenance customer and NOT a complainer. I waited tables for years, have nothing but understanding and empathy for slow service and sometimes even crappy service (everyone can have a bad day, right?). And I always tip well. This is the first time in recent memory that I've tipped below 20%, and it wasn't because the food was bad (food was mediocre--edible, not gross, nothing to write home about, not a lot of flavor, small quantities). It was because, for a diner breakfast, it was inexcusably slow, the staff didn't take any responsibility for the situation, notice us, or offer any accommodation, and I had to repeatedly ask random staff for coffee refills (our waitress disappeared for a good while there).I had stopped going to Inn on Coventry maybe three years ago, when the whole place had this unbearable smell of mold for two visits in a row. This was my first visit back. The mold smell is gone, but even so, I guess I'll wait another three years before trying again.

A gem if the East, in my opinion. Cozy little breakfast/lunch spot. Vegan/vegetarian options available.Hennessey available also. Enjoy!Lox Benedict pictured below.

The quality of Inn on Coventry has drastically declined over the years. 6 years ago, inn on Coventry was bustling no matter what day you came, and service was friendly and prompt, even with a full room. My most recent visit was a disappointment to say the least. Walking in the place smells of chemical cleaners. There were only 4 other small parties around 10:30 AM and we did not receive our food after 45 minutes of ordering! We were repeatedly told estimated time til our food was ready "10 more minutes" then after 10min, "4 min I promise!" Then after another 10 min "just waiting on the Club sandwich", then still no sign of food. How long does it take to make a sandwich? We had to leave before the food was even served, it was no longer even brunch time anymore....

Food here is so good every time I will always keep going back Perfect diner vibes with good service.

Where do I begin? IOC 10 years ago even 5 years ago was on top of its game. Food and service were stellar. Always. Then something happened. The ownership changed, the servers changed. You can barely get someone to greet the table because there are no workers. Food is pretty good. Service is deplorable. I barely go in anymore. Wednesdays are rap music days so bring your headphones. Seedy people hang around outside. Change of ownership has not turned out so well.

My favorite, homey, comfortable, and filling breakfast/brunch spot to come back to whenever I'm in cleveland! I used to live off of Coventry and am sad I never enjoyed the Inn more when I was there. Now whenever I'm in town I try to swing by. They always seat us right away and the service is quick and attentive. The most recent time I was there with a friend, we got the lemon ricotta pancakes and the lox Benedict. They were both AMAZING as always!! The lemon ricotta pancakes were so fluffy and soft, very filling and the perfect amount of sweetness. The lox Benedict was savory, soft, and packed with flavor. I wish I took pictures but we started digging in as soon as we got our items! Definitely check this place out.

It was our first time checking the Inn On Coventry out today. I will say that I still have no idea who our server was because no server ever came to our table to take our order. I had to go to the gentleman (who was extremely nice and thank goodness for him!) at the front to say that it had been almost 30 minutes of sitting without anyone taking our order. He took it upon himself to come over and take our order because they were pretty busy. However, the 4 top that was seated after our four top and the four top that was seated just before us all had been waited on in an appropriate amount of time while we were left sitting.The food was pretty good. My stepson really enjoyed his Rueben and the sausage and biscuits were good. I enjoyed the mimosas!I think this is a one and done for our family as there are many other places in the area that offer similar food.

A good place for brunch! The kind of food you'd expect from a classic American diner. Nothing particularly special but I would definitely go back! There is free street and garage parking in the area.

Amazing service and food! Our waitress Lulu was awesome and just had a good vibe. Would recommend :)
