It was the best and worst dining experience I've ever had. Personally, I don't like restaurants that won't do reservations. It's usually a signal to bypass, but I'd heard so many good thing about the place that I was willing to take the chance. It ended up being an hour and half wait. At that point I'm kicking myself. But my son wanted to wait, so we did. Was the food worth the wait? I'll get to that. My next challenge with the experience was the smoke. I'm not sure what the issue is but the smoke caused my eyes to burn, clothes to smell, and if I had hair... it would smell too. It was very uncomfortable. The service was outstanding. Everyone was welcoming, considerate, polite, and everything you want restaurant staff to be. The food.... I'd reserve a table in hell and next to Satan for another chance to eat that pizza again. It was better than anything I've had in Italy, and better than the BEST I've had... ever. It was like THAT. I have no idea WHY... but the gap between great pizza and this pizza is significant. To me, I've always felt pizza reached a saturation point where amazing pizza can't get better. I mean it's flour, yeast, salt, water, and stuff.... But somehow, they've taken simple to another level. I'll be back... I'll come early... I'll bring eye drops... and I'll be sure to not have plans after.... See, problems solved. Maybe I'll try takeout, but I don't want to risk degrading the quality at ALL. It's just too spectacular of a product to not enjoy at its peak. Hell, maybe the restaurant smoke IS the thing that pulls it all together! Amazing. 5+ Stars

I went to Il Rione for a friend's birthday this past weekend! Our group got there just before they opened at 4 PM on a Saturday, and there was already a pretty sizeable line. Luckily there was still enough seats within the restaurant so our group only waited a few minutes for our table. If you have a large group I highly recommend getting there a few minutes before opening if you don't want too long of a wait!I've heard a lot about Il Rione so I was pleasantly surprised when it lived up to the hype! The restaurant had a pretty nice vibe and it felt cozy! The music wasn't too loud also which was nice, so we could actually hear each other, which I appreciated. The front area felt really warm and inviting however, the back room where we were seated was a little dark and it could definitely use better lighting. For food, our group ordered the Green Pizza, Diavolo, Roseanna, and a custom Margherita with pepperoni. The crusts on all these pizzas were AMAZING! Crispy, light, and just really well done. I would come here for the crust alone. My favorites of the pizzas we ordered were the roseanna and the Green Pizza, but all these pizzas were super fresh and flavorful. Also, the portions were huge. We got three large pizzas and one small for our group of nine, and it was way more than enough and we had tons of leftovers.I will definitely attest that Il Rione makes really good pizza. So good! I'll definitely be back, though I probably wouldn't wait in line for more than 15 minutes so fingers crossed they start taking reservations!

Food and drinks were phenomenal. It gets super busy so the waiter kept forgetting about our salad orders. They didn't come out until the end. Building is super cute, large bar space and sweet outdoor seating.

My Fiance and I moved from NYC to Cleveland and really miss their pizza. Luckily we found Il Rione, which is reminiscent of some of our favorite NYC joints. We got the speck pizza and mezcal margarita. Both very solid. Would come back

Near Lakewood and a part of the outskirts of Little Italy, Il Rione is just fantastic. Packed on a weeknight, we quickly understood the glowing recommendations we received for this restaurant. The vibe was fun and lively and was accentuated by attractive mood lighting. We ordered the white ricotta and hot honey pizza, the green pizza, and the diavolo. The first two pizzas were nothing short of incredible. They are some of the best pizzas I have ever had in the US. The crust, sauces, and cheese all worked so well together. The flavors and ingredients were top tier and made for a great experience. The Diavolo pizza was solid and benefited from fresh ingredients and strong flavors but the other two were just a tier above. I am already counting down the days till when I can return and experience such excellence again.

Overall had a great experience at Il Rione. I think I have seen this place on just about every list of "best pizza in Cleveland", and for a good reason. We ordered a large Diavolo pizza, and it definitely hit the spot. Spicy, but not too spicy, with a good balance of all the ingredients-- including cheese and crust. Toppings didn't overpower the pizza, but it's not like they were skimpy with the toppings either. My only complaint is the crust: about 3/4 of the crust was dense and bready, and 1/4 hard and crunchy-- I prefer a crust with more rise and pillowy texture. The bottom crust was also a little crunchy making it hard to get a good fold. So this is the only place Il Rione loses a star. But the toppings were great, service fast and efficient, and I would happily return for pizza again in the future. If you're in the area and like pizza, you should definitely check it out!

Finally made it to Il Rione. It was every bit as good as we hoped it would be. Watching them Knead the dough & spread it out and put all the fresh ingredients on it was magical. We wanted to try all the pizzas, but we started with Diavolo, next time we want to try either the speck or the sausageA quick helpful head, get there about 10 minutes before they open you'll wait 10 minutes versus much longer as this place was absolutely packed 10 minutes after they opened.

If pizza was the last meal before the drones took us out, id ask the drone to first have piece of the Speck pie before annihilating us! The best pizza in Ohio. Even an alien would have mercy on us!

Fear not pizza pilgrims, the Edison's pizza experience is back and better than ever with the Il Rione team manning the pizza window. Lil Ronnie's vibe maintains the low key vibes of its former inhabitants, while serving up pizza worthy in a lineup of NYC slices. The menu is simpler fare than Il Rione. The pizza is foldable, greasy, and pure comfort. Yes, you can still get a whole pie here (a large one at that), but you can also get a slice of white pizza with arugula pesto and another slice of pepp with hot honey. Say less, amirite? Ordering will take place through the front entrance for now until they figure out a way to get a point of sale system at the pub window, but they're more than happy to deliver your pizza to the window when it's ready (which was pretty quickly for the slices). And I mean happy - the staff is so pleasant and efficient that you wouldn't know it's the soft launch.
