Hungry Bear

When you're travelling and need to stop for a bite it's like a dice shoot. Will it be good? Will it be bad? You might as well ask a Magic 8 Ball. This time it was pure magic. A small town diner for sure, but the kind where everyone that walks in was greeted by name. The coffee was perfect. The food was delightful. The sausage gravy could be it's own food group! And this place IS for the hungry bears because the portions were huge and they kept trying to give us coffee to go! You walk in a stranger and leave as family! All the employees were so polite and pleasant and just downright sweet! It may be a bit off the beaten path but if you want a culinary hug and a happy heart and stomach...here...you MUST come here!

Went for Bfast on a Sunday morning. We had a big group. So it took a bit to seat us. That was fine. It's a hopping place for Sunday Bfast. I got the country scramble with home fries. It was a good portion and good price. I ate about 1/2 of it and took the rest home. Both home fries and hash browns look delish! Can't go wrong with either. Everyone else seemed to enjoy Bfast as well and their selections. I got a look at lunch when we left and the club sandwich looked amazing. Might have to come back and try other stuff. Overall good staff, good food and good prices. Will have to try the rest some time.

One of the best breakfasts we have ever had. This is what a small town diner should be like! Hubby got the corned beef hash omelette...says it's the best he's ever had. I got a side of sausage gravy and a biscuit. Amazing! So much food we have leftovers. Prices great and service was quick and friendly!! All for $15!! A must if you're in the area. Hubby says he would go out of his way to come back here.

It is a diner. For a quick bite to eat it is pretty good. When they put the turkey dinner on the menu it is like having Thanksgiving. It is a turkey breast roasted, mashed potatoes & gravy. Tastes like homemade! I don't think it will be on the menu until fall.

Came upon the Hungry Bear after visiting the Litchfield flea market for the first time today. It was just before 12 noon. He parking was full so I'm front of the Hungry Bear Restaurant... that is always a good sign. We seated ourself and had a choice of breakfast or lunch menu. My daughter picked eggs, mandolin home fries and a slice of ham. I opted for a BLT grilled chicken lettuce salad. We were surprised by the super fast service. We would definitely come back. Was a pleasant experience! Oh, almost forgot... we had to take an enormous cinnamon roll to go! $22 was our bill, cheap eats!

Ate here this AM with a party of four while we were visiting friends in Medina. A great little slice of small town Americana frequented by the locals. I had the small Hungry Bear skillet for 7 bucks and it was more than I could eat. Service was friendly and attentive. Fairly large breakfast menu for a little mom and pop place. My friend had a Western omelet and said it had lots of filling in it and was the best omelet she has ever had. Coffee was great also. Dollar-for-dollar you will not beat The Hungry Bear for good food and service. They had a huge selection of pies, but I was so full I actually forgot to get some to go. But there's always next time.

I just enjoyed a Sunday breakfast with a western omelette and coffee. Food was very good and coffee wasn't catastrophically hot! Priced very reasonable! Casual dining atmosphere. Highly recommend!

This is a terrific breakfast place. Food is plentiful and delicious. Our waitress was a sweetheart. The only drawback? The clientele are mostly MAGA. I was wearing a joking t-shirt about petting cats and crushing the patriarchy. The entire time we were there, another customer glared menacingly at me. Was it the cat or the word patriarchy that set him off? Who knows? But it did not make for a relaxing breakfast.

Food and service were pretty good We'll be back next time we're passing through. We had chicken tenders and fries.

Never a bad experience. We have eaten here often for both breakfast and dinner over the past couple of years. Very clean with fantastic food, generous portions and reasonable prices. Also very good service even when they are short staffed. We have never had our order messed up or not received something, definitely one of our favorite places to eat!
