Horizons Restaurant & Lounge

We were very surprised to all love our meals here! We had such bad meals on our Midwestern trip. This was a treat! Best hot pretzel ever. Burgers were good and huge. Soup was good. View was great. Wait was forever but worth it!

Great stay at the Lodge and the Horizons Restaurant did not disappoint! Before dinner, we had a drink in the Horizon Restaurant bar. The bar isn't too large, so grateful we snagged the last two free bar stools.A nice cocktail menu was offered. I recommend asking for it. For dinner, we were seated near the window. It was a nice view. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Breast which was amazing. The sandwich totally had me at "strawberry BBQ glaze". Additional toppings were; arugula, pickled red onion, and smoked bacon. The next day for breakfast we headed back down to the restaurant. A fantastic breakfast buffet was offered from bacon to potatoes to sausage etc. Also, a made-to-order omelet bar!! WOW, What a treat. The pricing was reasonable too. We loved the food and service at the restaurant and look forward to returning.

Located in The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake Horizons offers all meals. The lounge is cozy in one area, and the large windows are in a large dining room that accommodates a lot of people. We dropped in for lunch. Service was good. Food was tasty, and at a good price. The salads looked amazing. The black bean burger fell apart, but was very good and easily eaten with a fork. The Club sandwich contained large pieces of bread and was difficult to eat. The shrimp tacos were good. The house BBQ chips didn't taste BBQ. They were just seasoned. After lunch we walked around the lobby and manicured grounds. Lake Erie is beautiful right there. Tourist brochures are in a rack in the lobby.

We went to breakfast Horizons @genevaonthelakeresort close to 10 am the following morning and were greeted to a dining room full of sleepy guests looking to start their day and a buffet spread for $14. (Would probably have been happier paying $10). I'm not certain if we got there too late, so perhaps that impacted the my opinion, but it seemed like they re-warmed frozen options (the hash browns and sausages). I added a fruit cup to make the meal balanced. The fireplace was turned off, but it wasn't overly cold in the room. #gourmetrecovery #restaurantreview #roadtrippingusa

There's a gorgeous view of the lake from this dining room and plenty of comfortable seating throughout for groups large and small. We went for the Sunday brunch buffet and the meals were solid and reasonably priced. Service was efficient and friendly and she kept our coffee mugs filled- for all 12 of us! It's basic lodge type fare but overall, a nice experience.

Went here for dinner and ordered the cheese and meat board, pan seared walleye and pork chops. The cheese on the meat and cheese board was ok but there was a lot of Gouda options. The meat was essentially lunch meat (or looked liked it), not appealing on a charcuterie board. The pan seared walleye was so salty that it was inedible. And I prefer food on the saltier side but this was just gross. My husband had the pork chop and said it wasn't good at all and especially at a higher price point at $34. It was the last time we went here (and we stayed at the hotel).

Well, we've been sitting here for 12 minutes now. No acknowledgement from anyone short of the person who seated us. There have 3 fly bys so far. Finally a cute waitress came over & took our order. 20 more minutes later I started chewing my arm. It's far from the waitresses fault ...of course they're short staffed....on a holiday weekend. 3 wait staff & 14 tables. Received our salads. They were a nice spring mix with tomatoes & dressing of choice. I ordered the chicken Marsala with gnocchi. The chicken was dry but had a good flavor. Hubs ordered the walleye, he thought it was dry but flavorful. I was good and passed up the carrot cake for dessert.

We had dinner and the food was fabulous. The French onion soup is out of this world and the fish and chips was one of the best we've ever had. The chicken francese was excellent, served on risotto which was very good. The wait staff were friendly and extremely helpful. We timed our dinner to be there while the sun was setting. The view from the dining room (especially if you can get one of the tables near the big windows) is great and the sky stayed red for a long time after the sun set. I highly recommend it!

Brisket was not good. It was coated with cheese and Brussels sprouts. My wife had the chicken special which was very dry. Staff was nice and friendly but they didn't have much to work with on the food side. Really disappointing!

I enjoy experiencing new things, but I have to say that I was not please with resturant at all! The food was horrible the cook should either get more lessons or get a new one. Wings were so dry, second order completely blk. My walleye tastes like fish sticks dried up the leaves and the side with it had a horrible taste the chicken gnocchi no comment.....The waitress was just wonderful!!!! But we will not go back there to eat unless they change that menu.
