Ho Wah

I liked the quiet, dim, more formal setting of this place. It's on the lower level of this strip of restaurants in Beachwood with dedicated parking but when it's busy, it can be hard to find a spot.Presentation of the dishes were good and taste of the dishes were great! I got the hot mandarin duck and chicken lettuce wraps and both were excellent. Prices were a bit high but the portions were reasonable so I always appreciate that. Service was quick and they automatically serve you hot tea, which is cute. I would come back again to try other menu items!

I don't understand how this restaurant is in business. We attended a birthday dinner here, and EVERYONE left irritated and hungry. The waiter was the most rude I've ever encountered anywhere. I ordered chicken egg roll and he repeated back to me that I wanted a chicken egg roll. We told him "no, chicken". His response was "no, vegetable." How do you tell the customer what she's going to eat??? And it wasn't because they were out of chicken egg rolls or something, because everyone else that ordered chicken egg rolls at the table after me received chicken, and he actually gave me a vegetable egg roll! The server was snappy and rude constantly. When trying to order he wanted us to hurry up and order. There's no reason to be that rude to guests who were nothing less than polite and respectful to the staff and other guests.We expected that a large party would have an automatic gratuity added, but when he swiped our cards he wrote in the tip amount for us. Excuse me? That's not how you do an automatic gratuity. He told us to "just sign it." The food was awful. I wouldn't even rate it as mediocre. There were no spices added. The dishes that were supposed to be spicy were bland. It was an all around awful experience. The dungeon atmosphere wasn't very appealing. It felt like we were in a basement. I couldn't even get cell phone reception, and I honestly can't remember the last time I couldn't even get reception.

My boyfriend and I ate here recently and had a terrible experience. First and foremost, the food was mediocre. Most of the General Tsos chicken was breading or just the parts of a chicken you don't want to eat (fatty and gooey). Also, I asked for brown rice and the server stated it would be an $11 upcharge. For rice. From then on, he just practically ignored us.Since our server was rude and our food tasted gross, my boyfriend left a $6 tip on a $45 meal. THE SERVER THEN SNATCHED THE RECEIPT AND CONFRONTED US AND ASKED FOR MORE TIP MONEY. Are you kidding me? I'm not one to leave bad reviews, but that's just wrong. We could have easily given him $0 for the lack of attention and rudeness, but didn't. If you value your time and want a good meal, don't go here.

Got takeout from here on a rainy fall weekend. The service members were nice and food was ready in a reasonable amount of time. The chicken flavors were pretty good but with too much batter imo. We ordered the fried rice, which was pretty good. We asked for fried rice with the entrees and was surprised to see that it was literally just fried rice without vegetables. That was a little disappointing. But otherwise this was a pretty decent spot!

Love their Chinese food , great classic ambiance. The wait staff are not always attentive, but very pleasant food if you are patient

Best Chinese restaurant I have ever eaten at, none better!!!!Been eating here for over 20 years, never a complaint.I am salivating just thinking about the food, yummmmm.....

fast talked me into the $29 best and it was a utter waste. The front grill lights had the grime still on. Water spots over whole truck. Truly ripped

New favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. The food is always amazing and the dining experience is very nice as well. They give you a good portion size for the pricing and the food always tastes amazing. I appreciate the oolong tea with whatever food you order. Service has always been friendly whenever we dine in and ordering over the phone is easy as well. Highly recommend giving this place a try if you are in the mood for Chinese food. Try the egg rolls specifically, they are among the best we have ever had.

I hate to be rushed and the speed in which good was delivered was too fast. Soup and egg rolls not nearly finished when main dishes came. Food was so so - used to be much better

Ordered takeout - variety of entrees and appetizers. Barbeque ribs were inedible-tough and strangely flavored. General Tso's was mostly soft batter - not much chicken. Moo shu pancakes were stale and inedible. Green beans were ok. Everything was very blandly seasoned.
