Good local spot. If you grew up down south or in the country you will like this place. No pretense just good service and decent food. The food is better than you might think for a small country restaurant but the kitchen puts in the effort. They make fries from scratch, bread the fish and chicken themselves. Highly recommend if you are in the area

Great little spot. Drinks are strong and food is good. Sometimes service can be slow when busy.

I see some of the reviews are older, come check this place out! New owners, fully renovated and updated, the chef and specials are to die for (check out some of the food on their Facebook page!) great spot for dinner or drinks or both! Something for everyone there is pool, darts, juke box, 4 big screen TVs and a fully stocked bar! Try them out you won't be disappointed.

Lobster bisque is the best! We usually go at lunch time so it's not overly crowded. It's a little dark inside but in spring and summer it's nice to sit outside!

Bring your silverwear and ceramic plates! We were patrons BEFORE they renovated and had food, if that makes a difference. We had 8 people (including our 21 year old daughter who works in service industry).PROS: clean restrooms, nice floors, new pool table. CONS: (COLD 65 degrees in restraurant, people wearing their coats)...it was almost warmer outside. Management turned up bit after asking but turned back down again. We took matters in our own hands. LIGHTING: Good for GYN exams, but not bar. COST: Too much $$$ for eating off of paper plates (11.95) chicken parmesan on plastic plates with plastic silverware and salad in paper dixie plates. If you're going to serve more than tavern food (hamburgers, etc.) Step it up. We spent $91 before tip (and never told of 4% cc charge) for three people. . After our "picnic" dinner, we were occasionally noticed by our wait staff. Many trips to bar to get drinks. I had to ask the waitress at the bar if she was still serving. Final: May stop by for beer but not all night fun anymore & definately not dinner. Sorry Hillside, try again.

Stopped in tonight, first time since they opened in November 2018. I would label this establishment as a nice, clean bar- a good place to meet friends for brews. Our experience was as follows( it took 10Minutes for the waitress to take our order. This was after I pulled my phone out. My husband ordered wings with garlic sauce and Parmesan. I had the 5 Oz Tavern Burger with onion rings. We were told the Tavern Salad was huge so we split it. Twelve minutes laters my husband got his wings. He said at first they were tasty but then got to strong. He said they tasted like Alfredo sauce with grated Parmesan grated over them. Lots of cheese.Three minutes later the salad and my burger came out. The burger was like my husband likes burgers, cooked well done and crispy. It was okay and priced accordingly. The onion rings were good, there were full onion pieces in the breading. The salad, well , it was not huge. It was served on a paper plate platter. It tasted like bag salad with two hard boiled eggs, tomato wedges, and tasteless croutons. The dressing was bottled, well many places use bottled dressing and it is a bar. The cap for me was the 4% charge for using a credit card. There may have been a sign over the bar but none on the door!As I said it is a good bar to go and have a few brews with friends. Ninety five percent of the food is breaded, greasy, great for when your drinking. Lastly, I do have to say the last two wait staff that stopped at the table were helpful and professional.
