We were browsing up and down Bridge Street after lunch and stopped in to check out Harbor Perk. It's a super cozy indie coffee shop with a variety of seating options. Smelled great walking in! I ordered a strawberry iced chai, which was sweet and creamy. I've never seen a strawberry chai, so had to try it! My friend and I both enjoyed it, and we hung out for a while enjoying the AC.

Small town coffee shop vibes with an immaculate aesthetic. Friendly staff. Just a great place to read a book, catch up with a friend, or just relax!

Harbor Perk is a place to get coffee. It also has some treats like brownies and oatmeal. Relaxing atmosphere inside and outside too. Clean and it smells good. They have a nice area inside with plenty of tables. Either way it's good with cold or hot beverages. I had a good time here with my female friend. The indoor area is a pretty laid back kind of atmosphere it seems. If you would rather you can also go outside and catch a lake breeze. There's lots of comfortable seats. Coffee is the main thing here. They also have a few teas. I had a vanilla latte with almond milk. It's about $3.50 for the medium size. This had a strong vanilla flavor and only needed a bit more of sugar. It also has locally made baked items. These are generally healthy it seems. I liked the vegan brownie. It's about $2 for each. This had a good sweetness about it. I would come here again. It's better to get coffee in when it's cold out but you would have to go by the cold lake. This is why it might be enjoyable in summer or fall weather.

My husband really enjoyed a hot and iced latte, with their very own special house blend. I had a delicious Terry Bagel option, which is a pastrami and cream cheese sandwich on a bagel of your choice. The place was really cute, they had lots of options, it was clean and spacious, and they had plenty of seating inside and out for their customers. The staff was friendly and efficient, the lines were quickly taken care of! Definitely our coffee shop when we're in the area.

Best coffee shop on my coffee crawl. Super friendly baristas, covid safe but also allowing use of the loo, thank Jah. Great roaster with a knowledgeable staff. Tasty treats as well. Cute spot in the harbor.

I love that this coffeehouse roasts all of their beans in house. That makes it next level, especially when you get to smell them roasting fresh. These guys really offer a whole range of everything coffee. Most beverages can be made hot or cold and with your choice of a plethora of delicious flavored syrups. They also offer bags of various degrees of freshly roasted whole bean coffee to go. The staff was very friendly and prompt. I can't wait to go back there!

As a frequent visitor of Ashtabula I stop at Harbor Perk whenever I am in town. Unfortunately my most recent visit was disappointing. My family and I ordered coffees, bagels and tea. There was a black hair in my mother's tea as well as a hair in my cream cheese. I also asked for an iced caramel macchiato. The barista girl made it with espresso and milk. I asked for caramel drizzle on top as that is how it's usually made (and was made for me the day prior). The girl didn't even look me in the eye but grabbed the coffee from me. I asked how it's made if I should not expect the caramel drizzle in the future and she rudely said "we all make it differently it just depends who makes it". Which I thought was an odd response.

Harbor Perk Coffeehouse & Roasting Company used to be a really nice coffee shop before the new owners took over late 2022. I used to enjoy stopping in or catching up with friends here. The atmosphere definitely shifted with new ownership, but the drinks made by my favorite barista still hit the spot. However, I have watched it become a hostile workplace over the past 1.5 years. I've heard them yell at their employees on multiple occasions. They split tips with their employees (ick). They accused someone of trying to steal from them by asking to use her employee discount. Toxic environment! When two employees got a second job to supplement their income for upcoming life changes, and asked for a set schedule so they could work both, the owners immediately started yelling and belittling them. They had no problem going low here, and neither do I. They put out a new schedule and left one employee off entirely, and the other got only closing shifts. Obviously that would interfere with her new job at a restaurant. When she asked about it, she was told she isn't entitled to anything. She was told she's been a terrible employee, that they received so many complaints about her customer service, and other bs. He told her to go home, and that her shift tomorrow "was taken care of" and "we're done here." Since I was listening on the phone, I have zero problem taking the full brunt. My friend did not deserve the treatment she got here. Maybe she wasn't fired (even though it's pretty clear to me that she was), they certainly made it a hostile and exhausting work atmosphere. Nobody has to stay and work for people that make them feel small, unimportant, and unvalued. This is NOT a healthy place for teenagers to work!
