Guido's Pizza Haven & Restaurant

Incredible portions! My friends come here all the time. So, when I was in town, of course we had to go. The staff is extremely friendly and the food is good and hardy. You'll see from the pictures that the food portions really are outrageous. The side salad I would call an entree salad. If you ask for more cheese on your salad, you get lots of it. Same for the salad dressing. If you want more, they bring you a bowl of salad dressing. I ordered a cup of Wedding Soup (very well made) that was the size of a bowl. The sandwich in the picture is a half a sandwich! The side pasta that comes with a meal is a huge portion that in and of itself would be a meal. Let's not forget the bread. Homemade buns warm out of the oven. It's hard to stop eating them. They also make fresh pasta. Be sure to ask for it when you order. I understand this is a family business and the generations continue to grow it

Good service in a crowded room. Food was really good. I had the homemade cavatelli - light and delicious. I tried a piece of pizza and it was Sicilian style, thick dough but light. Very good. I'd visit again if in the area.

It's was clean , sign said seat yourself so we did . As we walked by the wait staff were in a huddle I'm sure then they didn't see us , sure enough we sat for a few minutes till the server from the next table turned around. The woman who found us was very nice and apologetic, but the waitress was pretty snippy.My eggplant rotini with ricotta was excellent my friend ordered cheese raviolis with Alfredo sauce and she was charged extra. Hers was 19 and mine was$16. Little high, but everything is nowadays.

Aces all of basics... delicious food, high quality ingredients, spotlessly clean and friendly service. This place is a landmark run by a great family. Consistently a good experience. We always over-order because we get to enjoy more variety and love the leftovers. Cash only is fine with us.

Daughter's birthday dinner and wanted to go to Guido's. Their choice! First thing to remember is that they don't take credit cards. Cash or check only, luckily we did our research on this! The place is busy with takeout traffic, the counter is right up front for pick-up. We walked up to ask for a table and was seated right away. Their complimentary bread was fresh, light and crunchy. Nice-way to get started. We ordered a small pizza (been watching too much pizza review that I feel like I'm a pro), then some cheesy-garlic bread. The pizza was good, nice cheese, less sauce, but the toppings were good (sausage, onions and peppers). The garlic cheese bread was also good, for $8, maybe we'll skip it next time (or ask for more of their house bread). Our pasta dishes were very good. Really enjoyed the sausage, lots of seasoning and well-made. Don't let the look deceive you. Daughter liked her manicotti, but was full after half a serving. The place was what I expected it to be, actually a lot brighter. Lots of windows and all very much open. One of the owners (I presume) also came out to talk to guests. He was walking, table to table saying hello and asking if everything was good. Appreciate that gesture. If we're in the mood for some Italian food, we'll keep this in-mind. For the time being, we have plenty of left overs that we took home to eat! Also, we took an Italian wedding soup home, because we heard so much about it. Enjoy!

Guido's pizzas are fantastic!They are more than just good eating, they are a happy experience!When I lived in Chesterland Guido's was the standard. When I moved away, going back is a treat!Keep making those pies!

Overly generous portions. Suggest get a "child's size". Great food. Great service. I got the chicken Parmesan, so much leftover for 2 days since good.

Family run Chesterland restaurant. I grew up in the area and this is the taste of my youth. My favorite pizza , the GOAT! It's like a Detroit style with more sauce and cheese. The dough is a perfect mix between airy, crispy, crunchy and gooey. I love the sauce (recipe please?) and all their toppings are fresh and delicious! I visit home a few times a year and never miss a trip to Guido's. Highly recommend. I always order takeout so I can't comment on ambience but I can tell you the service is always great. They used to have a secret backdoor pickup years ago when they said they were closed at their other location. You could call and if they were there.. "Meet me at the backdoor in 20 mins". Their (same) phone number is still burned in my head.

I have to say that they have probably the best pizza in chesterland. I've had their salad and pasta and liked both but I just love love their pizza. I think that this maybe my once a week treat.
