Guido's Original Pizza & Catering

Guido's Original Pizza of Kent is a long standing pizza shop with arguably some of the best pizza in this area. I have come here for almost 30 years. This review is based on 2024's food and services.For major events, birthday, holiday, you name it. typically I will order a Guido's Sheet Pizza, pepperoni and sausage. The classic combo everyone loves.The pizza is large, roughly 32 slices, Sicilian style pizza. Depending on who makes it kind of determines the main outcome of the pizza. The dough can range from a little thick and fluffy, to a nice thin but manageable buttery crust with a good bite.A very thick and savory, robust pizza sauce, you can definitely taste the seasonings, sometimes the sauce can be sweet but this is in my preferred range of sauces. This time around, the pizza was extra saucy, so each bite was almost oozing sauce, making each bite perfection.The cheese was cooked fairly well this time around, it wasn't burnt, it has just enough pull with the bite. It was not the thickest amount of cheese I've had on one of their pizza's however, sometimes you do get a very thick almost mozzarella stick like layer of cheese on a middle slice which is awesome.Pepperoni's are a fairly standard blend, these are typically found under the cheese of the pizza, so if you're looking for crispy pepperoni I don't know if that's something you can ask for (i never tried.) but if you're worried about toppings being charred, you won't have that with the sheet pizza.Sausage, the sausage is one of my favorite toppings at Guido's, typically what I assume is some type of Italian sausage crumbled throughout the pizza, very strong flavor most of the time too, so if you're a sausage pizza lover I can recommend this topping 100% of the time from Guido's.Service was great this time around from placing the order in advanced to the day of picking up the food. Compared to last time, this is the spot I remember growing up with.Pricing has gone up abit since the last time I ordered a sheet pizza, its definitely a luxury to order one. I can recommend pairing this pizza with a order of 50 JoJo's.Disclosure: previous review was negative due to poor custom service and failure to make and deliver a pizza properly without a positive resolution. I haven't had food from this Guidos in a couple decades. When I discovered they delivered to the Stow side of the Stow/Hudson border, I ordered pizza, coleslaw, and jojo's. Everything was delicious, and I'll definitely order again.

I have been coming to Guidos over the past few years. They are close by my house so it's convenient especially when it's a last minute craving. The folks that work their have always had a great attitude and take pride in what they do. And one thing that is most important is that the food is consistently good time and time again. The building is not much to look at inside and out but these folks make the most out of what they have and put out a great product. I will always be a customer!

This spot is a hidden gem!! Best fried chicken. Best pizza in the area!! If you're feeding a crew then I 10/10 recommend a family pan of lasagna.. it's incredible. Our family orders anytime we have a gathering (and when we don't ). Stop at GUIDOS in Kent if you're in the area!!

Don't see how the reviews are so good about this place. Chicken is dry and flavorless, jo-jo's taste like they've been fried in old rancid grease, so called "hot-rice" was cold and nothing but undercooked white rice with some ketchup and hot sauce on it, and the pizza has "extra items" you don't want. Everything prepared in a dirty kitchen environment. Fly was baked into the dough of the pizza!! Thankfully I managed not to bite into it but close call!! Absolutely disgusting and pathetic excuse for a pizza joint.

The pizza isn't great but the fried chicken is awesome! My biggest complaint is that they are ALWAYS late delivering the food. They say an hour but it's anywhere from an hour 15 to 2 hours every time. I haven't had 1 delivery yet that has been an hour or under and I live 6 minutes away. Pick the food up or be prepared to wait.

I went to the Kent location on 5-12-20. They were taking safety precautions and it made me feel safe. Guidos has a sit down restaurant in downtown Ravenna. The Kent location is take out delivery only. I've always liked the old school feel of the actual restaurant in Ravenna. I really like how Guidos helps adults with disabilities in Portage County.

A must when I come to Ohio. I moved to Florida and good chicken and jojos are impossible to find. This place knows how to do it well and it's what I need every time I come home.
