Sleigh Ride in front of Inn in the winter. We need a 4" base to start these rides.
How tranquil is this?!
Horses practically greet you as you drive in.

We received a gift certificate to visit here. We scheduled the visit and didn't know what to expect. When we arrived it's a nice journey through Amish country which is impressive and then up a long driveway to the resort. My first thought of when I was arrived was that it's a motel not a hotel resort. All of the rooms are exterior v/s interior. They do have a way to go to the main lobby of the hotel room via your room. The lobby is okay, a little messy to be honest. They have a winery in the lobby. But it's just a stand where you can select wines. Some comfortable couches and a small lobby to relax at, drink your wine and for breakfast. The day we arrive it was chilly and rainy. We attended an event of a singer that was here for the winery. The outside is nice but a bit outdated. I'd say this entire lodge is outdated and could use some modern times added to it.They do have a vineyard on the property that belongs to the winery. We checked in and we had $3 credit. But they were so odd about it. We couldn't use it for anything but another stay. We got a deal when the person booked our resort because the fee was $150 and the day we arrived the rate was 180 per night. The breakfast was alright nothing special. I'd say this place could be stunning if they updated the place, create a separate room or building for the winery v/s in the lobby. A bit off-putting to be honest.

This was the third year in a row my wife and I spent our anniversary here. The rooms aren't anything to write home about but that's not why we go. We go for the beautiful outdoor atmosphere. Sitting by the peaceful pond with a delicious sangria watching the horses roam is so relaxing. We always buy a handful of bottles of the house made wine to recreate the sangria at home. The local Amish people are very charming. We love eating and shopping at the nearby businesses. If you are looking for a fancy, chic hotel you might want to look elsewhere. If you are looking for peaceful tranquility with good house made wine look no further.

Definitely a unique experience. The room itself was basic. Definitely outdated decor but I actually liked it because it went with the overall cozy feel of the place, whether that's intentional or not I don't know! But very clean and perfect for a weekend getaway. Quite enjoyed the wine on site, but I don't know that I would boast it as a winery. A little shopfront in the lobby where you can sample and buy isn't my idea of a winery, but that's not why I chose to stay here so for me, it was just a perk. But I think visitors to town for shopping who drove out of their way to make a pitstop at local winery may be disappointed. The laughing blush wine was our favorite, we enjoyed two bottles over our long weekend. Weekend complimentary breakfast was nice for sure. Biscuits and gravy, cheesy hashbrowns, bacon wrapped egg cups, and assorted toasts and pastries. Nice way to start the day off!But the real gem of this place is the unique horse experience. When we pulled up, they were roaming freely on both sides of the long drive and we worried they got loose somehow. I knew there were horses nearby on the property because we signed up to horseback ride but we didn't know they'd literally be in the yard of the inn. You can walk right up and pet them while they graze throughout the yard around the beautiful gazebos, swings, and pond behind the inn. This was so quirky and fun! Horseback riding itself was awesome and the hour long ride through the rolling hills and woods on the property was beautiful this time of year. The guide, Rudy, was very nice. I'd come back for the horse experience alone, but the entire place was very pleasant and relaxed. Truly perfect for a cozy weekend getaway.

Wife and I went for a weekend getaway. Our room was clean, breakfast was good and the staff was amazing. We will definitely be back. Plus, the entertainment was good as was the wine! Best of all, the horses were majestic.

The Guggisberg Swiss Inn is a fantastic place to stay when visiting Ohio's Amish country. The grounds are beautiful and filled with free roaming horses and other animals. The yard behind the Inn has a gazebo and swings that overlook a duck-filled pond. The horses that are available to ride are beautiful, well cared for animals that wander freely about in their herds and are very friendly. The staff is extremely welcoming and friendly. They really strive to help make your stay as relaxing, memorable, and fun as possible.

Best place to stay! Went with our family and had a great time! Amish country closes down early in this area, so how wonderful it was to return to the hotel to enjoy live music, wine tasting, horses and donkeys and ducks walking freely around the beautiful grounds, and you can feed and pet them too! They also offer horseback riding and Chrissy taught us everything we needed to know! We had such a great time with her! Definitely worth requesting!!

Christy took us on an amazing guided tour as we rode the horses. She was extremely knowledgeable about the horses, patient, and engaging! She even offered to stop and take our pictures on the horses. I would highly recommend horse back riding here. The horses are extremely well trained and there was little direction or redirection needed to keep the horses on course.
