Granny Joe's Ice Creamatorium

Stopped on a Sunday afternoon just by chance, the place was really busy, we waited in line for a bit but the ice cream was really worth the wait, hand scooped with many great flavors to choose from . The place was very clean with a really cozy atmosphere, I hope to visit again soon to try the diner, on a less busy afternoon. The price for the ice cream was really reasonable considering how good it tasted and the staff were really friendly, not seeming to be bothered by the crowd or rushing you in any way. I do recommend giving them a try if you like old fashioned style ice cream You won't be disappointed!

Really? I can you not rate this place high?! One of the best Ice Cream in Vermilion! Staff is great and doing a lot of work. Mostly a lot of people have their families and friends go to Granny Joe's to hangout and have some Ice Cream! Just go! Nothing really wrong with this place!

Cute old school ice cream shop with tons of flavours to choose from. Staff is friendly and serves up scoops as quickly as possible on busy nights when there's a line out the door. Impossible to leave dissatisfied!

Stopped and got ice cream here the other day, I got a medium for $6. She said the ice cream was soft and that's why it was a mess. But my moms was normal with 3 scoops on top. The service was fast and had plenty of outdoor seating.

I had a banana split and my partner got a small waffle cone with one of their unique flavors involving chocolate. Both were exceptionally good. The waffle cone, despite being a small, had ice cream all the way down to the tip! Also was quite a busy Saturday afternoon and the mgmt was actively helping move things along quickly! Smooth experience, and delicious!

Nice little stop for I've Cream treats. Wanted to try for dinner but the dinner hrs weren't very late. Nice variety to choose from and a very friendly staff.The sitting area is nostalgic with pictures of the area from the past.A double scoop of Dark Cherry can always set my evening mood!!

On a drive from Cleveland to Sandusky while taking the scenic route we stopped to get a scoop at Granny Joe's. They carry Tofts Ice Cream (which is one of the best around) and they offer many flavors. Some of our personal favorites include peanut butter cheesecake, lemon blueberry cheesecake, and of course staples like mint chocolate chip and butter pecan!The prices start at $4 for one scoop and let me tell you, even for an ice cream lover such as myself, one scoop is a large serving. If you're not up for hard dip ice cream you can also get a shake, malt, or sundae.We didn't dine in, but rather got our ice cream and took a little stroll. This place is located right in the heart of downtown Vermillion so there is plenty to check out while you walk around, window shop, and enjoy your delicious treat!

Lots of hand scooped ice cream options and a nice patioWe have visited here for ice cream many times. Usually after a stroll on the beach we will walk here for ice cream. They have over 20 choices of hand dipped ice cream. I do feel like prices have gone up a little. It's $4 for a scoop which is pricey for the size. They do offer a small menu featuring Lake Erie perch. The front porch and outside picnic area are great when the weather is nice.

A cute place in a cute town. When you hear a name like Granny Joe's, you have a certain expectation in mind. This place definitely lives up to that expectation. This is a quaint ice cream shop in downtown Vermilion located in the Main Street district. They have their own parking lot and plenty of seating inside. In the summer, the tables can get crowded. Prices are extremely fair (but so is everything in Vermilion). The homey decor is so fitting of the name Granny Joe's!They easily carry about 20+ flavors of ice cream, plus traditional favorites like hot fudge sundaes, malts and tin roofs. I have been coming here for years since I was little in the summers, and something about their ice cream is just so delicious when you're in this little beach town. I recommend the lemon blueberry cheesecake in a cup. Two scoops will give you generous leftovers!The staff is really helpful and happy to help you with samples. They also have a cute outdoor porch you can sit on. It also doesn't hurt to just grab your ice cream, walk to more local shops, the beautiful library, or of course: THE BEACH!

Service is a joke. Act like they are too good to serve you. Said they were dog friendly, they are not. I have more respect for my dog than these jokers that serve the customers here.
