This is a roadside attraction LEGEND. People who are in the industry need to take notes. It has everything from free samples of pretty much everything, photo ops, an insane amount of products to choose from, and the iconic marketing materials to match. I recommend this stop to everyone passing through this part of Ohio. The cheese and ice cream are some of the best in the whole state. The service and layout feels like you're at an amusement park. Full of youthful kids who really love their jobs and they go the extra mile to make sure your trip there is one to remember. Don't forget to take your photo in the cheese head in hole photo op outside. Makes for a fun roadtrip postcard to remember the visit.

Always a treat. I think they have really expanded the property, and they are expanding more on top of that.

8/27/24 My husband and I with my father in law and his wife stopped here on our way to Cleveland and it was such an awesome experience. I had an amazing time at Grandpa's Cheese and Sweetie Jumbo Chocolates! The customer service was fantastic--friendly, welcoming, and they encouraged me to sample anything I liked. I ended up buying the Dill Cheese and Branch (Bacon Ranch) Cheese, along with a few sweet treats. The variety is incredible, with endless options of cheeses, pickles, jams, dressings, chocolates, brownies, and fudge. It's a must-visit for any foodie or anyone who loves exploring unique flavors!

This place is so cool. Off the highway in, I think, Ashland. Cheese, gift ideas, candy, you can order stuff to eat. People are so incredibly friendly!! Christmas tunes playing. Who wouldn't wanna go. I had been when I was younger. Seems much larger! Cute little outside eating area. I didn't take pics because my hands were full of purchases!! Oh and you can sample the cheeses. My hubby bought a like 19 year old sharp cheddar and sharp Swiss cheeses. He loves them. Worth the stop. YOU won't regret any second spent there!!

Mixed feelings on Grandpa's Cheesebarn. We stopped by here in 2014 and spent hours and way too much money, trying all the goods. I guess Covid brought an end to the endless free samples. There is a good selection of cheeses, jams, syrups, etc. as well as chocolates and other goodies in the sweet shop. We all ended up purchasing something but definitely didn't spend as much time as we did in the past. This is a fun stop but not sure I'd go out of my way to visit again.

Outstanding customer service. We didn't realize the store closed at 6 pm. With only 20 minutes to shop, no one made us feel rushed. We were offered cheese samples and several staff members suggested different products to us. A young lady working upstairs even inquired if we wanted to buy anything in the Sweeties Shop before they closed it. Obviously, we did not want to impose as it was already closing time. We purchased several cheeses that we sampled and some other items. I highly recommend. The customer service was simply way above and beyond.

Super friendly staff at the Cheesebarn. Super good cheese and a tremendous selection at that. However, super pricey too. I have mixed feelings about this place. While it was good cheese, I spent a fortune on cheese. $120 worth. On cheese. Literally almost every cheese selection is $9-16 per tiny brick. Plus $35 at the candy shop and $14 on two malts. Good, but not sure how often I'll actually shop here. I'd have to take a loan out for cheese if I frequented this place.

This was a trip well worth it!!! My BFF and I spent a Saturday driving up to Ashland from Cincinnati and it was so much fun!!! The entire staff was super friendly and helpful! They offered samples of EVERY cheese!!! We bought so many different cheeses, sausages, breads and fudge!!! We bought a seasonal blueberry lemon fudge that was made with real blueberries! We also bought a beautiful basket from the Amish (bring cash!)! The basket is sturdy and beautiful with a sold wood lid and is toy box sized!Definitely touristy and definitely a drive but definitely worth it!
