The food was good and served promptly. Lobster Roll was a bit pricey at $30 but there was a good helping of it. They should toast the bun with garlic butter and add some lettuce to make this a little better than it is. Hot Dogs and Brats were good but need to add all beef casing type dogs. It was a to go order and shifted in packing or on transport home. We may go back to get milkshakes next?Update: went back for another Chicago dog but the tomatoes and pickle veggies and pepper were not fresh and slimy and way too much relish. The food quality and consistency should be their focus. 2-1/2 stars. :(

This is my third time at Goonies. We go for dogs and brawts. Today was a slow day for them and when we pulled in the parking lot the signed was turned to closed. The young man who seen us turn around ran out and got us and served us well. He didn't have an attitude like I was trying to g to go home. We got service with a smile. So I have been experimenting with my options trying to create my favorite dog. Today I got two with spicy relish, stadium mustard, ketchup and onions. Next time I'll do yellow mustard. They have many different topping from chill to sauerkraut. You can be as plain or crazy as you want to be. I'm still searching for my perfect combination. Since it is reasonably priced I will experiment every time. Unless I have a craving . if he didn't t have the places cleaned I would have gotten a shake. Those are to die for. The place is clean and cozy. It has the colors of a beach house. They have no seating in the building but multiple picnic tables outside.

This is a Terrible place to eat owners are rude and food is gross would not recommend to anyone

Disappointed. Not a true Chicago dog, no poppy seed bun, no Vienna beef hot dog, I didn't taste the celery salt, not even sure pickle spear was on there, might have been. Saw photo of Lobster Roll on previous review, once again wrong bun, should be split top bun. Fries were good. Service was good.

We waited and waited for them to open. We finally got to stop today for a dog. The fries were good. The hot dog was lack luster at best. Maybe it was the hype and the anticipation, but the hot dog was fair at best. They say all beef, but don't have that flavor you associate with an all beef hot dog. No natural casing either. I guess what we saw browning on the rollers were bratwurst. The hot dogs are held in water. By the way, $30 for the lobster roll. I think it's a good place to take the kids for a shake and what not. It just didn't quite hit the spot like we had hoped. Truth be told, we went to Rico's for a snack as we were still hungry

Milkshakes are on point! Awesome retro vibe and great service. Good menu selection and prices are really reasonable

The food quality is on par with what you get for a low quality hot dog . . However that being said nothing rings quality ......major dissapointment . The owners should seek purveyors that offer better quality ingredients and re price the menu to reflect the additional cost .... Look at the reviews everyone says same thing ..........I've had better hot dogs at a gas station . French fries should be labeled seasoned with Cajun or whatever they are calling their spice blend .......And what's up with the hot dog roller ? Great remodel of a once bait shop and cute outside area ...staff was friendly . RETHINK

Awesome hot dog. I got the Chicago. Fries were excellent. But the MILKSHAKE!!! Oh man. Absolutely delicious. And staff were friendly and helpful.

We were really looking forward to going to this new place with a really great idea for good old fashioned hot dogs and more. We had such a taste for a couple of Chili dogs and a brat. Got it all home, and Wow! Soooo disappointed. The hot dog was not even close to being beef. Actually I am not sure what is was, because it was 100% tasteless! Blah!! And really?! Chili out of a can?!! And the Brat wasn't anything to write about either! Guys, guys, guys. Get this great idea going in the right direction, with better quality hot dogs - ALL BEEF, and better quality brats. Additionally please, make homemade chili. Don't cut any corners. This could be a great "go to" place.

Went today for the first time with a friend. She got a beef hot dog and I got the Polish Boy. Her bun was soggy from the kraut, the dog was just warm from sitting in water, didn't look like a quality beef dog, and she threw hers out after a couple of bites. Mine was barely warm, the fries were picked from under a warming lamp, and the bbq sauce left a bad taste in my mouth. I threw half of mine away too. Won't be returning. Sad because were looking forward to it. Costco has better hot dogs for $1.50 including a drink.
