Amazing food. The staff is amazing. Thai menu is super authentic. Always get exactly what we ordered. Highly recommend the curries, general tsos is the best in town

Great flavor, friendly host only two dining tables in the main lobby. Had the meal I wanted generous portions.Served in take out containers, I'm sure real plates would normally be used if the had staff to serve the dinning room. However I would stop by again it's only 5 minutes from interstate 80..

I have been eating at this place since my college days when they used to have a lunch buffet in their previous location on Belmont. For my money and experience, they have the best tasting Chinese food in the area. Their beef and broccoli is my go to meal, but their chicken and green beans is another favorite. The hot and sour soup is the most tasty I've had. I really wish they would open the dining room again. Ever since COVID, the dining room has remained closed, so take out is the only option.

Best cream cheese wontons! Best (big!!!) eggroll and omg their homemade hot mustard and duck sauces are incredible (ask for the homemade ones!!!) They have the best fried rice!!! I absolutely love their sweet and sour chicken. Everything here is so fresh and it doesn't taste like every other Chinese food place. It tastes homemade...made with love. Also...the NICEST people! I've been going here since 1998 when they were down in the plaza when they had $5 lunch buffet and used to feed us YSU kids on the cheap. It was awesome then and it's still just as good.

Remember years ago, when you were a child. You went to the Chinese restaurant with your family, and you always got the fried rice? You actually liked it. It was old undercooked rice, fried in a huge wok, with a shit ton of soy sauce, tiny bit of egg, some diced frozen carrots and peas, and whatever meat-like product you wanted added? Well, welcome to the 70's! Have we got a flashback for you! Except in this case, no peas, no carrots! Just a ton of soy sauce and oily rice, with chicken and a smidgen of egg! Yum! What could be better? Threw in a pic. Glad I asked them to add bean sprouts when I ordered it. Seriously, they were nice and all, and they have been there for years, but this is hitting the trash can as soon as I post this! I HATE giving negative reviews. But this place, eh, it's for people who LIKE Midwest Chinese food. I really hope these folks actually eat well at home, not the crap they serve howlis. And, added a pic of my rice in the trash. I not only wouldn't eat this for free. I wouldn't eat it if I paid for it!

Golden Hunan is an iconic staple in the Youngstown area! I've been coming here since I was 8 years old, and I'm now 34 years old. We've witnessed them move around from multiple locations over the years, but they still maintain the same food quality standards and excellent friendly service that we've always received from this wonderful family establishment! The food is always amazingly fresh. They can customize any dish on the menu to fit your taste (adding or taking away sweetness or spiciness) or even substituting ingredients if there's something you'd rather prefer. You never have to be afraid to ask for anything extra, they're always happy to give it to you! Eddy (owner/server) is the absolute best! His service is always great and he'll answer any question you have. He always makes sure your meal is PERFECT. Do yourself a favor and have the best Chinese food in Youngstown at Golden Hunan this evening. Do them a favor by supporting your local family business.

Best Chinese restaurant in the Youngstown area. Casual atmosphere, great food, and very reasonable pricing. I've been here multiple times, mostly for lunch, and I've always had a great meal. They have a large menu to choose from, and there's something for everyone.

The food was fresh and was ready when they said it would be. They have switched over to only takeout.So I can't review the ambiance. Pad Thai was very good.

We have driven by this restaurant many times & read past reviews, so we decided to try it for dinner. We called in our order to go & the gentleman who answered their phone was courteous & helpful. When we arrived my hubby went inside to pick up the order & pay. He remarked how clean & orderly the restaurant was. When we arrived home we found everything packaged nicely & exactly as we ordered. We tried the vegetable egg rolls which were large & excellent, the Mongolian beef which was good, the chicken egg foo young was fantastic as was their chicken chow mein with crispy noodles. Portions were large & entrees came with white or fried rice. Of course, the restaurant also included fortune cookies & extra sauce packets. A wonderful dining experience with leftovers for the next day. We highly recommend this restaurant!
