Getaway

A bit of a dive bar to go get some drinks. My father-in-law likes to perform at various clubs and bars so we went to go support. The lady behind the bar graciously let my kids sit to watch and even got them set up with two Shirley Temples right away - nice.I ordered some cider, but when the keg kicked, and it was less than half filled, she just gave me the drink and I ended up purchasing some local hard tea. They have a few beers on tap, some Ohio brews, but mostly big names. A lot of bottled domestics available as well as a bit selection of low to mid-shelf liquors.For entertainment, there's whoever's playing that night, as well as some TVs showing sporting events and then there are some pool tables and other games in the back. If you want any of that with some affordable drinks, this is the place for you.

Gives new meaning to the term dive bar or should read dive bar is an understatement. It was gross. Bad service. Band was good.

I don't go there often, when I do I go to see a great local and called the Coverband. They are awesome which makes the place tolerable. The service is by far the worst I have ever encountered! The supposed manager/bartender( Dave I believe is his name) is oblivious anyone who is not either a friend or a regular. It took over 15 minutes for me to get acknowledge to get 1 beer, with only 8 people in the place before the band even started. Every time I go there the I have received the same crappy level of service. I guess he doesn't like tips , care for customer service, or making money for ownership.

If you're over 35 and in the Valley, this is the place for you simply because you'll feel young instead of old in the other bars. Avg age on a weekend night is 45+... but the music is good and the drinks are reasonable. Good regular/dive bar.

I enjoy just how awful this place is, especially Wednesdays. The bartender is a poor miserable soul. Can't blame him as he must suffer open jam night where several very kind yet musically-challenged gentlemen in their 60s butcher their favorite 70s hits. I think this place is a warning - you can see the result of a lifetime of poor decisions. This wisdom will be unsolicited yet imparted by the drunk soul that takes you under his wing (followed by a treatise on American rock music and how you can better play your instrument. I'll go back. It's painful. Funny. Annoying. But I'll go back.

Had some awesome times here darts pool etc., Beautiful handsome mixologist and nice at the same time. SAVORY FOOD by talented cooks at a reasonable price 2 hot dogs for less than 4$,. daily specials burgers are so tasty. I attended karaoke and live band East of Seattle and had a very memorable time. More of a mature crowd.

The service is lousy the drinks are water down and the overall atmosphere is crappy.

I traveled in to Akron on June 26th from Ga. for my mom's knee surgery. She lives in the Valley, decided to walk across the street to local pub for some me time, much to my surprise the Getaway provided me with a Getaway with New found friends... @ 59 yrs. of age I have Never been to a public venue & been treated just like everyone one else upon first time visit, which wasn't my last....hat's off to Owners, Staff(Niki, Jamie & Dave-Sam-lol) patrons Linda, Gillian & Emily great 1st. impressions too Please note: only reason I didn't post 5 stars guys was I have yet to be there while live music was playing , too much darn fun during day & evenings

Talk about a heavy pour! Love the music, the people/service and the atmosphere. Had a little bit of a weird smell, but all around a cool place!
