Came here for the Spring Beer Festival at the recommendation of a patient and really enjoyed it. Living in Germany for two years when I was younger I like to think I know a thing or two about proper German food, and this did not disappoint. I got the combination dinner with pork schnitzel, a bratwurst, German potato salad, and sauerkraut. My fiance got the same thing except what was referred to as a "German hotdog" instead of the brat. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Many desserts were available in another building but were too delicious to pause and take a picture. There was also a beer truck with several imported German beers on tap at a reasonable price. All in all we had a great time here and will definitely be on the lookout for other events to attend here. I had been told they do an Oktoberfest every fall, that we will be sure not to miss.

Founded in 1924 as Die Deutsche Zentral, the German Central Foundation has hosted this fledgling annual Russian festival on its beautifully wooded grounds on York Road. In its fourth year, the event is presented by St Sergius Russian Orthodox Cathedral, and features food, music, dancing and vendors, all in a relaxing, park-like setting. An admission fee of five dollars is requested at the gate, and you must pre-purchase tickets for all food and beverage service. Credit cards are accepted for ticket purchases and at the vendor tables. Several buildings are clustered around a central common area, with a main, two-floor dining hall, complete with a large dance floor on the upper level; pressed into use by art vendors for this particular festival.A smaller building houses a second dining hall, decorated as a Russian "tea room", complete with an array of homemade desserts, coffee, and of course, tea. The main dining hall is set up cafeteria-style, with delectable choices such as stuffed cabbage, Russian meatballs and beefy sauerkraut. Seasoned rice, mashed potatoes and rolls were offered as starches, while a choice of beet, carrot or potato salads helped balance out the meal selections. Water and non-alcoholic beverages were being served at a large bar adjacent to the kitchen.A bier garden was set up outside in the common area, along with a small kiosk offering authentic Russian ice cream and blini (crepes). Nearby in the pavilion, a Russian dance troupe were engaged in an acrobatic performance, accompanied by a small band. This is truly a wonderfully organized and presented festival, held in a comfortable, wooded setting.

A nice space here. I was performing with a German band at this location last weekend for their German American Days Festival. Good beer on tap, great food. The people behind the bar in the one pavilion were a little strange, but hey, there are weirdos. The main hall i beautiful, but not air conditioned which is slightly uncomfortable in the hot summer and especially if you're in a dirndl. Otherwise, lovely!

Folks, you don't have any idea the time we had. It was supposed to be a most special day, where my daughter received the surprise of getting to know her father. But with these people, as soon as we came in the entrance the manager screamed at us "what are you guys doing here?" We told him we came to decorate for the party tomorrow, his response was "hurry up and get your things and go far from here!" When we entered the hall, he repeated to me the rules of the hall, shouting. i told him "yes sir, i have them written down on the contract", he retorted , shouting again, "and where is your contract? You're supposed to have it in your hands, right now!" It was horrible. I have all my witnesses, that we did not serve liquor, inclusively, even my pastor. They are using that as an excuse, not to give us the $200 back from the deposit. Please don't rent one of their halls if you don"t want to have any nightmares. The guy was very rude and impatient I was talking Spanish to my sister because she doesn't know English and he came to us saying "blah, blah, blah what language are you guys speaking? I don't talk that language. Also he was pulling a cart full of heavy chairs and ran over a boy foot and didn't say sorry. Also the manager was asking for my one of my married guest phone number and harassing the photographer by saying: "Hi how nice to see you again. The photographer says" what do you mean? this is my first time here, and then the guy said I can't forget that body and your face. we recorded from the beginning of the party to the end and they said we served alcohol when we have proof that we didn't just so that they would keep the deposit
