Fig Leaf is a hidden gem in Chesterland, Ohio. I grew up in the area and it wasn't until years after I left (and really began enjoying coffee) that they opened. My dad and step-mom were still living in the area and started becoming regulars here. Luckily they sent some coffee to me in California and I'm so happy they did.On my latest visit to the area, for a family wedding, I stopped by with my brother. The owners here are so kind and really care about the products they're creating for people. The shop smells delicious the moment you walk in and there are options for everyone. They have different sized bags and even single serve pour over options as well.I love that they have the flavor profile of their coffees on the menu and they even offer decaffeinated options.Don't be afraid to ask questions here, they're happy to help you find what you're looking for and luckily you can order online as well, which I'll be doing. It's tucked into the back of the Giant Eagle Plaza area, by the DMV (BTW I miss the Chesterland DMV compared to our California options). There is also plenty of parking. If you're new to good coffee, get ready to have your world rocked. This is the good stuff.

Another hidden gem in Chesterland. Great customer service and super knowledgeable people. Any coffee aficionado would love this place. Who doesn't like "coffee talk", right? Don't forget, even if you don't drink coffee, it makes for a great gift. Check it out!

Owner Tom has created a "specialty roaster" shop selling coffee beans from around the world. He will grind the beans for you. Each coffee has a description of the notes you may taste, and the location it's from. A lot of coffees are from Africa, which are my favorite with their rich, not deep roasted, flavor. Gail, his assistant, was very friendly and knowledgeable, and we had a nice conversation. Beans come in three bag sizes, or buy for large consumption, and I purchased a one pound bag. You may buy a subscription to receive coffees thru out the year, and join the coffee club to learn about new coffees and get specials. Items from Geauga County were also on sale--honey, syrup and a few items that change with availability. All kinds of coffee pots are for sale, and Gail will explain them. This shop has that little extra gift for someone, or bring a basket to fill as a gift.

I recently tried this coffee place based on a coworker's highly recommended experience. I was hoping to get a cup of coffee but they sell coffee beans, and other little quality crafted things ie. Spicy hot cocoa mix, solid baking chocolate bars, etc. I ended up getting two 4oz bags of Ethiopian Sedona beans and let me tell you, it's so good! I have become accustomed to cappuccinos because a lot of coffee is too acidic to drink as is. This coffee tasted and smelled delicious. It had chocolate notes and subtle fruity notes as well. I gifted some to a few family members and they also loved it! The icing on the cake is the customer service. There was a wait upon arriving and the business manager apologized and was so kind. They even gave us a couple cute freebies for being first time customers!

Someone gave us a bag of Fig Leaf Coffee Company as a gift and I can't stop thinking about it. This was really good coffee and I was pleasantly surprised to learn they are local to Chesterland, naturally grown, organic, fair trade and supportive of women-owned farms. The Colombia blend (women-produced) is a mild medium roast. It has chocolate undertones and isn't super overpowering. I only got into drinking coffee in the last few years, and I can easily drink this coffee without feeling overstimulated or jittery. They also have dark blends, decaf, and roasted coffee sampler bags. You can order coffee subscriptions in 3-month or 12-month coffee gifts online, which would make an excellent present for someone! You can also shop their coffee bags online in various amounts of ounces. They also sell local teas, Chemex coffee products, and branded home goods. This is a really cool and interesting coffee producer and I can't wait to see them at farmers markets in the near future!

I get coffee beans from here, because their coffee beans are well roasted, like I can actually taste complex notes. I usually have their Guji, which is light roast. This time I got "Full Throttle Blend" - it's dark, chlorately roast. it's good.

Best coffee in OH!As you all know, I'm the yelp coffee snob. I love coffee!! I first met the owner at a farmers market over the summer and was able to sample his coffee. Amazing! I was sold instantly! We stopped into his shop today and stocked up. I always ask owners what's their personal favorite and the owner did NOT disappoint! We left with 4 bags of coffee and a sampler box. Shop small people. Its most definitely worth the drive to chesterland. Hands down, best coffee I've ever had.

My boyfriend and I get coffee from here all the time!! It's the best coffee we have ever had. It's smooth, and tastes great. He roasts and grinds the coffee himself.

We are lucky to have several really good coffee roasters in the Cleveland area and Fig Leaf is one of them for sure. The coffee, tea, brew equipment, and advice are all topnotch over there at Tom's place. While many buy the 16oz bags, personally I like the 4oz mini bags with fresh roasted specialty coffee from all over the world. I'll buy 2 at a time and switch from one day to the next. If you're new to specialty fresh roasted coffee start at this shop for coffee and brew equipment guidance. And if, like me, you're a hardcore coffee nerd, well, I'll probably see you at Fig Leaf eyeing the latest additions to the lineup.
