I liked this place even before the upgrade. Now it's huge with so much to do. My husband says he thinks it's even better than the Pittsburghs children's museum and my oldest son loved the paint room. He said, "Oh yeah. I'm gonna be here for awhile." I do wish they had some sort of food court since we could've been here all day.

Perfect for littles! My son is about 1 and a half and loved it here. There's some things he was too young to grasp fully but most of the things here he really enjoyed! Obsessed with the water play and the pretend play areas upstairs. Parking was easy on the street on a weekday morning but I can see it being a pain on a busy day especially with construction Download the EzMeter app ahead of time to prepare for street parking

It was newly renovated and still under construction in some areas. Good options available but mostly smaller sections. The market on the second floor is very nice and hope that they expand the water area.

Many of the things that make me EH on this place I believe all stem from location so lets get those out of the way first. 1) No open parking lots and the limites spaces on the streets take forever to ooen up - PLUS its metered so have quarters and remember only 2 hours!2) no food places nearby that you wouldnt have to give up that space it took you 17 mins to secure and this place has no food on site. 3) very quaint old neighborhood means AWFUL cracked uneven sidewalks so with littles and strollers beware and careful or be co-paying! 4) very limited space inside and as such activites seemed cramped together and random. 5) improve flow of activies and look at redesign - like the grocery store that is seriously almost the size of a trader joes but you cant get a kids stroller in...6) the outside garden space with musical chimes and picnic table is great but its so small that had we not been in the rain I think it would have been like hunger games to get a seat.

Great place!! Took the 5 year old kiddo here. Plenty to keep him exploring. We spent about 1.5 hours here. Favorite thing at the museum he got to make his own rocket!

We did an overnight with Girl Scouts. Everything was orchestrated perfectly! The children had a blast! Loved all the different learning stations and they had set up throughout the museum. I'll together a wonderful learning experience and I hope we can come back again sometime! Totally worth the drive from 3 1/2 hours away! Bravo!

So I am back in Erie with my 5 yr old son the week before Halloween and trying to keep him occupied. Sure he loves visiting Grandma and Grandpa but let's face it...a 58 and 63 yr old can't really keep a 5 yr old entertained the whole day. Making cookies with grandma can only last for so long.My dad suggests going to see the Brig Niagara, I enjoyed that immensely, my son...not so much. First the ship was covered under a tarp due to the weather, 2nd, he's not a history buff(at least not yet!) like his dear mom.Leaving that museum and heading west we drive right by this museum.Where was this museum when I was growing up? We kids of the late 70's and early 80's got screwed! You lucky Erie kids! Now my son is a big fan of the Museum of Science and Industry and the Children's Museum in Chicago. But would he enjoy the Experience Children's Museum in Erie as much?Let's just say my son wanted to come back the very next day...and the next..and the next!!Sure it's smaller than the museums in Chicago but I can keep a better eye on him, there are still plenty of interactive exhibits and activity for him to participate in.The admission fee is very inexpensive. The only thing I did not like was the fact that 10 min prior to closing, the staff was already starting to close up shop and seeming a bit aggravated at the kids still playing. Can't you guys wait? I understand making announcements and all a few minutes beforehand, but starting to put stuff away? Let the kids play until it's closed! Then kick us out!I guess I am just used to the museums in Chicago. Kids can play and learn until when the signs say the museum is closed. Other than that...it's a great museum. Perfect for younger kids.

This museum has 3 levels, anyone over 2 is $7. The top floor was our favorite - it had a mini wegmans, doctors office, bank and various science experiments. The first floor and basement were pretty boring. There is a nice outdoor area. It looked as if no one had picked up or cleaned in a while in many of the exhibits which isn't surprising since I saw 2 employees the entire time, one when we walked in and one going into an office. It's good for a couple of hours of getting some energy out.
