Erie Brewing Company

We've been busy lately, and this wasn't originally on our stop, but thanks to @winecraft , we ended up at this amazing brewery. They have 26 beers on tap and have been at this location for 7 years. What really stood out was the self-guided tour--something I've never seen before. If you're a fan of *It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia*, you'll love this: the tanks are named after the characters, complete with photos or names on them. So cool!The beer was fantastic. We sampled six and shared them. The pumpkin ale, Johnny Rails, was a clear winner, and since it was our first visit, they even did up the rim for us! We loved it so much, we took home a case. I also enjoyed Final Destination, a West Coast IPA, though @winecraft wasn't as into it since IPAs aren't their thing. Golden Decener was a classic golden ale, and I loved Medivel Woman, a hazy IPA--I haven't seen it at any Pittsburgh distributors yet. Old School was a traditional pale ale that I also really enjoyed, and the Scottish Ale was solid as well.Great service, great experience. Can't wait to stop back!

A very cool brewery located near I-90 and the Bertrand Campus. Lots of great beer and food to be had. They have table service for drinks but not the food. You'll need to order at the counter as the restaurant is separate from the brewery. I highly recommend stopping by and trying a pint.

We enjoyed lunch out on the patio with friends and our dog. They have a nice area to walk your dog up on the hill near the patio. I really enjoyed my Pittsburgh salad with the Italian dressing. My companions enjoyed their burgers. They have a great variety of beer and I like that you can order a smaller size. It's a little confusing when you get there, how to order. You just go to the side window and it's both the bar menu and the pizza menu and they give you a buzzer and you have to pick it up when it's ready. We didn't have any service out on the patio this time. Service at the bar was okay, not great. I was thinking they were likely understaffed that day. Bathrooms are clean. It was windy that day and the outside fire pit ashes were blowing at us.

Saw their sign on the freeway and it was time for lunch, so we pulled off. Upon entering we thought they just served pizza for food and were actually on the way out when I noticed a menu (there was no hostess working the seating area only the bartender pouring at the counter). Luckily I saw the menu, because they do have a full kitchen. You have to order and pick up from a back area next to their gift shop. Kind of different for such a large seating area. I'm not sure if they usually have a waitress, but when we were there (Tuesday at 1:30pm) there wasn't any. My son ordered a Roast Beef Sandwich and I got the Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich. Both were AWESOME! $10 or a sandwich this large and tasty is a great deal. They had an awesome beer list and I wish we didn't have another two hours to drive because I would have ordered a flight. I got the S'mores Nitro and it too was excellent. Great stop and honestly one of the best meals we had on our eight day vacation across Ohio and Upstate New York.

Service: 0 Beer: 0Ambiance: 0Ive never done a majorly negative yelp, but you all need to know about this. We were visiting Erie and were so excited to visit the top-rated local brewery on Father's Day. Things started normal; we were sat by a kind server and ordered 2 flights. From that point forward, we were completely abandoned. The last thing our server said was, "let me know which one you like and you'll get a half pour on the house for Father's Day!" She then left us, never came back, and sat at the bar drinking. After 30 minutes, we walked up to the bar and returned our empty flight carriers. We asked for a beer and told the apparently confused bartender about our situation: we were sat and waited on initially, but didn't want to jump their tipping system and just order our own beers at the bar. That clown said nothing - and nothing changed. We finally just walked up to the bar, paid, and left. Absolutely disgusting experience. I hope to save any visitors the same god-awful experience we had. Management and ownership should be ashamed that we had this totally unapologetic experience. Lastly, the beer was garbage. No idea how the regularly sell any of it. Their tap lines are definitely dirty, and almost every brew we tried tasted wildly oxidized. BE BETTER.

Love Erie Brewing Company! Beers are wonderful and the atmosphere is warm and super clean. I truly can't say enough wonderful things about the service we received from our server, Salara!!!! She was right on top of our order as well as our refills. She made some amazing suggestions and was super friendly and welcoming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She was knowledgeable of the beer selections and checked in to ensure we were enjoying our beverages and to see if we were in need of anything. We will definitely be going back. Cool spot with a great local beer/cider/seltzer selection and pizza/burgers/hoagies. Crowded on a Saturday Night! Order drinks at the bar or your table, and food is ordered at a booth and you are given a buzzer to come get it when it's ready.-Bacon Cheddar Burger ($11) - burger patty was thick but well done and dry and sort of flavorless :( The bacon was nice and crispy and smoky though.-14" tomato sauce pizza ($9.35 +$1.25 per topping) with pineapple and sausage - Yummm!! Love how you can specify how well done you like crust - we got ours nice and crunchy :)The Rainbow Sherbet seltzer was pretty much undrinkable, tasted like vodka! It may be some people's things..... the Farmhouse Cider ($8) was nice though!

Absolutely love it here! The warm ambiance of the place is what always keeps my girlfriend and I coming back. You order your food off of the adjacent John Wildwoods(which is delicious and pretty cheap), and ordering a flight of different craft beers always makes for a fun time. All of the staff is super knowledgeable about their beers, don't be afraid to ask for suggestions!

NASTY Lady bartending at 3 pm on 6/18/24 should be fired. Never said hello just threw down coasters and said what do you want? Got angry when my wife asked to taste the bayfront blonde that they injected lemon in for some reason That's what she normally drinks. Then she asked to taste I 90 something else and the bartender just filled her beer never said thank you. Ever! then sprayed my wife with the water from the disgusting glass rinse under the taps. All I know is she kept saying how wonderful Texas to the regulars who had fancy cups sitting around us she never spoke to us not sure why. We live in the Erie area and we spend a lot of money on craft beers but not ever again at Erie brewing and I will not drink the rail bender at Willy wings or anywhere else. I see it on tap. Outstanding! From the beer at the bar poured by our amazing bartender Alex to the food, we loved it! Great beer, good food at great prices and large portions- we will be back!
