Avoid this restaurant. The last two times I've gone I've ended up with extra items added onto my bill that didn't make sense and others at the table once I pointed it out noticed it on their bill too. The owner is overcharging and hopes you don't notice. Latest trick is they now charge $3 for the tiniest bowl of chips and watery salsa. One you finish they ask if you want more then charge another $3. Very sneaky.Go elsewhere other places don't charge for chips and salsa and you get more chips in a big basket and better salsa. Other than that the food is pretty good but be forewarned about all the extra charges to inflate your bill. They are losing customers and it is for good reason.

This place El Rancho is fabulous authentic Mexican food. They can bring you the salsa spicy or mild. However you like it. We had great service. We were served and ate and walked out within 30-40minutes.We explain to the cashier that we are from Texas and we were looking for some authentic Tex-Mex food and this food was exactly what we were looking for. We will be back here in a few days if you're asking for something specific to they will tell you where to go and where to find it if they don't have it. Very nice family very nice owners nothing bad to say about this place. It gets a grade of 100 from us.

Found this place on Yelp while passing through the area. Small, low key Mexican restaurant. People were friendly. We were seated promptly and the waitress immediately greeted us to take a drink order. We tried the frozen margaritas. They arrived and were good but lacked some lime flavor. Maybe too much ice. The homemade salsas were excellent. They gave us a mild and hot. We combined them for a delicious blend that was perfectly spicy! I ordered the burrito ranchero with chicken and she ordered the El Grande Burrito. The were both excellent and huge! Neither of us could finish them. I loved the refried beans and rice too (Some of the best I've had). Service was very good and we were in and out quickly! Would highly recommend this place

On a recent trip out to Ohio from California, this was my Mom's pick. She likes this Mexican food better than others in Fremont. I had the chicken chimichangas and a chicken enchilada which were good quality and made like a true Mexican restuarant would out in California. (I went to others on my trip that drenched the food in a cheese sauce that make the makers of Velvetta blush)The server was excellent, bringing out tortilla chips and hot/mild salsas. My mom thinks they make their own chips in-house. Near the cash register, they have jewelry and trinkets for sale, which seems kind of cheap, but hey, at least they're trying! It's located along State St. and the ambience outside isn't too inviting (a car lot), but those quibbles aside, I had a good time eating here. And the margaritas come to your table in cactus-themed glasses! Cool.

DELICIOUS!!! New to Fremont, moved from Georgia and the El Rancho's there are always good, so I had been craving for a good authentic Mexican burrito for awhile. I visited another Mexican restaurant here said to be really popular but I did not like the food there at all! BUT, I tried El Rancho today and was NOT disappointed! It was everything I expected and then some! It was on point and the portion was plenty! Even tasted the same after reheating & I didn't get heartburn! Haha! My birthday is Cinco de Mayo, so I know good Mexican food and this is it! I will definitely be a regular customer! Gracias! Gracias! Gracias! for not only your great food but also your Excellent service!! Very welcoming and friendly!! ~Ms.Kym~

Margarita. Get a "top shelf" margarita. And if you can get Raphael to make it for you, even better. My wife (a Latina) and I have determined this is our favorite margarita, and we have had margaritas in a lot of places! If you order and drink two of these in one sitting, it won't matter very much what you eat because you will be happy. If you order and drink three of these - take a cab home! The food here is good but a little on the wet and greasy side. Typical for this sort of Mexican food it will be swimming in sauce, but it is good. The chips are made on-site and the salsa they bring with it is great. If you have time there is a Mexican grocery located next door. You can order in English or Spanish, but either way "margarita" is pronounced the same!

The triple fajita was perfectly seasoned. It consisted of shrimp, steak, and chicken. I would have given 5 stars, but they did not remove the tails from the shrimp. Also, the steak was a bit chewy. In addition, they give you 2 salsas, but they don't tell you that one is hot. For a party of four they placed one at each end. FYI go for the one in the white cup if you like mild salsa.

By far our favorite Mexican restaurant. Raphael is the best and always makes us feel at home. Ask for gravy to top your dish. It's liquid gold!!!

The owners and staff are so friendly and accommodating. The food isn't too bad. It's a little bland and nothing special. The margaritas could have been a lot stronger. I'm not looking to get drunk but I would like to taste a good drink. Again bland weak margaritas. They work hard to please you and I did appreciate their service. I don't know if I'll be back but maybe.
