El Kefon Puertoriqueno

We love El Kefon. You never go home hungry and the food is sooooo good. Huge portions and always busy. Usually do take out but fun to eat there too. Can't find a more authentic Puerto Rican restaurant!

One of the greatest parts of visiting Lorain for the first time was learning about the Puertorican history here. In no real rush to drive back home, we wound up lingering, checking out Lakeview Park and the Lorain Historical Society. Our last and most important stop for this trip was El Kefon. It did not disappoint. They have some great stuff and we are taking almost ten pounds of it to go.

Immediately welcomed as soon as you walk in. It feels like you've come to your family's house to have a party! So much to choose from and everything I've ever tried is delicious! Will keep coming back!

Food was ok potato balls not good acapurrias no flavor place not too clean rice and beans pork were ok not sure if we will return

El Kefon is an assuming small restaurant located within a residential neighborhood in Lorain. They offer excellent Puerto Rican fare at reasonable prices. The family that operates it is friendly and greets you with a smile. I walked in around noon on a weekday hoping to get something simple, and wound up ordering arroz con habichuelas (beans and rice). The portion was sizeable and I was not left disappointed. If you want a taste of the island but don't want to catch a flight, drive over to El Kefon!

This is my to-go restaurant for amazing authentic Puerto Rican food when I visit my hometown of Lorain, Ohio. You enter and are greeted by a buffet of food to select. I get the rice and beans with potatoes, pork and potato meat ball. They give you so much food and for an amazing price.  I can never eat it in one sitting. The next day leftovers are the best!  I opt for carryout, but they have seating as well. Staff is always friendly and hooks you up with hearty/generous portions. Free parking is available on the street or the parking garage located around the corner and shared with Family Dollar. I always worry that TSA will try to take my leftovers when I go through security, but my leftovers always clear....lol. Writing this review has me craving for this meal.

Excellent food and great owners! The owner took me through the food and did a great job recommending what a first time customer may like.

Everything they cook is really excellent and there hospitality it's beautiful. It's like you're part of the family.

El kefon has been here since my childhood and they'll get you right with the rice and beans and pastellios, the customer service of course is pretty decent and this place and rainbows bakery are the places to go if you find yourself wanting some Puerto Rican food.

The almost 3 hour drive is absolutely worth it! Love walking in and having the smell of this food just smack you in the face! Communication may not be the easiest but I'm never disappointed in the massive amount of food, especially for the price $10 and a pile of omgoodness!!!
