Went to Edwin's for my birthday dinner and we left happily full! We ordered the escargot which was delicious. We took the bread they pass out and dipped it in the garlicky oil which was so so good! It paired really well with the pear spritz I ordered. For our mains we ordered the duck and the fish. The fish itself wasn't very flavorful but the potato wrapped around it gave it a nice smoky flavor and the red sauce helped add flavor to the fish! The duck was amazing. Literally half of a duck in a nice tangy orange sauce and very tender. We also got a squash dish which was sooo good. Squash was tender, the puree was amazing and the spinach was nice and garlicky! Service was quick and very nice. The whole restaurant felt Parisian themed which fit perfectly. We were happy we were able to check out Edwin's before their move!

I haven't written a Yelp review in over a year. I came back to this website just to share my love for EDWINS. A remarkable value. Appetizer + Entree + Dessert + Tax was $70. Loved the seafood sausage, potato-wrapped group, and orange-white chocolate bread pudding (with homemade vanilla ice cream). The staff was so nice. Do yourself and this place a favor and spend your money here to keep it going during the slow winter months. And I'm just now discovering that it supports formerly incarcerated adults, something that I'm deeply passionate about? Wow. Fantastic.

My boyfriend took me here to celebrate my birthday, and it was a lovely experience! Edwin's is a restaurant that hires formerly incarcerated men and women, and provides them with training and other resources they may need to succeed in their career and beyond. They serve French cuisine in an intimate and cozy atmosphere. The staff is very attentive and sincere. Our waitress, Bubbles, was happy to provide us with recommendations, and she always made sure we had everything we needed. We also got to meet the owner, Brandon, who came to our table to wish me a happy birthday! We each ordered salads with goat cheese and pear, and they were delicious. We also ordered drinks - an old fashioned and the Maple Sky, both of which were fantastic. For our mains, we ordered the spinach and mushroom raviolis, and the duck a l'orange. Great flavor and good presentation, too! Lastly, we split the creme brûlée for dessert. I definitely recommend checking this place out!

We have eaten here before and as usual, we were not disappointed. The service is outstanding. The atmosphere is very authentic and feels like being in a French cafe. The owner and staff are always really gracious and work together very well as a team. There is a fireplace which makes it cozy. I love fireplaces. The only drawback is that the space is small. However, that will change soon as they are moving to a new, larger location in the spring 2024. The food was amazing. We started with a main lobster appetizer and it was delicious. I had the duck a La orange and my husband had the ribeye. We ended the meal with the grande manier soufflé. We look forward to seeing what the new location is like!

We came as a 14 person group at the end of a reunion weekend. We knew the story of the restaurant and wanted to experience the good food too. It is all that we heard and more. The Chef/owner suggested a fixed price selection which we agreed to many weeks ago. So all this was off menu. It was all 5*. Wine was blah but tasty, the cocktails were well made and interesting. Staff was learning their job and we were happy to help them learn. When you're in the Shaker Square come to Edwin's to fill your stomach and fill your soul. Valet parking onsite.

This restaurant is super beautiful! It looks simple from the outside but very fancy and well decorated on the inside. Service is impeccable. They opened the door for us, sat us immediately, and people checked on us often. We ordered the goat cheese salad, ribeye steak, and the mushroom spinach ravioli. All were really good! We wish we had room for dessert but we were too stuffed, so we promised to come back. Our server was Lamont and he was so friendly and nice and hope to see him again! :)

Second visit to EDWINS Leadership and Restaurant Institute in 26 months. We scored street parking right on Shaker Square. Upon arrival we were promptly seated. Inside is tight seating but upscale, with dim accent ceiling lighting. The meal was delicious and I got to try something new (pheasant). I did send the Pheasant back as it looked undercooked and a little too pink for me. It came back out perfect and they handled the situation perfectly. They even brought a cup of soup while my dish was being flash cooked. Loved that detail of the experience. Service was wonderful. Rhonae S. was amazing, attentive, personable, and positively added to the occasion. The place is kind of pricy with a price point of 30+ per dinner entrees but we were celebrating our anniversary. We did 3 courses each and dropped about $150 for two, without drinks (pre tip) but we wanted to celebrate at a special location. Overall, It was a perfect evening and would definitely recommend.____________Here is what we had for dinner if interested. Since this is an updated, second review, with previous 10 pics showing, I'll upload pics directly to the page.Fromage de chèvre chaud McKenzie Creamery, mesclun de verdure, coings pochés et vinaigrette au champagne (Warm McKenzie Creamery goat cheese, mixed field greens, poached quince & Champagne vinaigrette) $14.Bisque de homard (Lobster bisque) $13.Faisan rôti avec purée de patate douce, épinards sautés & jus de faisan à l'Armagnac (Roasted pheasant breast with sweet potato purée, sautéed spinach & pheasant Armagnac jus) $37.Cuisse de canard confite au sel, risotto aux girolles et trompettes noires (Salt-cured duck leg confit with Chanterelle & Black Trumpet mushroom risotto) $37.Pouding au pain (White chocolate macadamia nut bread pudding with Ceylon cinnamon ice cream) $13.Cheesecake au chocolat blanc et coulis de mûres (White chocolate cheesecake with blackberry coulis) $14.________~Here is more interesting info on what makes this place so special if you want to learn a bit more: *EDWINS 1s a 501(c)(3) and 100% of your contribution is eligible for federal tax deduction. *EDWINS offers formerly incarcerated people a foundation in the culinary & hospitality industries. Just go here already!! If you like well done French cuisine, top-notch service and a great atmosphere, you will love this place! If you don't like those things...well I'm very sorry From the moment we walked in I was in love! The staff here was second to none - outstanding service all around, while retaining a personalized, down to earth feel. We had Brittney as our server and she was a DOLL. Best server I've had in ever. The food, the FOOOOD! Seafood sausage , best filet ever (plated very artistically), venison, table side bananas foster, champagne, great wine, a "happy Anniversary" plate in chocolate, amazing cocktails, are you convinced yet?We went here for our 17th anniversary and I can't wait for another excuse to go back again

We are becoming regulars here, and we absolutely love it. Came here for the birthday, and our experience was outstanding, as usual. Anything we tried was 5 stars, from the cheese selection (6 cheeses), 2 salads, entree, 4 main courses, and 3 desserts. Everything was outstanding. Service is top-notch as usual. We sat outside, and they have a very nice patio. They even brought out the platter with 'happy birthday' on it for the birthday person. Loved it

We went to Edwin's to celebrate our anniversary. We were seated by a cozy fire, food came out at appropriate times, and everything was delicious. For drinks I ordered the fig and rosemary collins (I wish there had been more non-alcoholic options to choose from). It was good but I wished there was less ice, as it started to taste watery after 30 min or so.We shared the goat cheese salad and artichokes. The warm goat cheese paired perfectly with the pear and greens. The artichokes were a wonderful flavor and texture. For the main course we ordered the seared Maine scallops and rack of lamb. The scallops were the best I've ever had! Perfect flavor and texture. The lamb was less flavorful than I expected, and ended up adding some salt to my taste. For dessert we ordered the bananas foster, which is prepared tableside. It was a fun experience, and delicious. All the staff that we encountered were kind, helpful, and professional. We will be back!
