Ed's Smokehouse Soul Food

I'm from Houston so my wife and I were in Ohio to see Andre Johnson get enshrined into the Hall of Fame. We heard that Ed's was a go to spot, so we went to check it out. The service was amazing. They treated us like family. They gave us enough food to feed a small army. That fried fish was fresh and that burger is a hidden gem.Definitely will come back.

Don't be fooled by the appearance of this place. The food is AMAZING!!!! As much home cooking as you can literally get. Mac n cheese, green beans were as good as Mama's (just don't tell her that). Greens were a religious experience.... Like a church potluck!!! Okra was the best I have had. Catfish is some of the best I have ever had. Cheesesteaks are amazing. Pork chop is worth coming for. Prices are very reasonable.

Ed's is off the beaten path, but so very worth the effort. When I try a new place I always get a couple items to try as many different items as possible. I got the Pork Rib dinner and Catfish sandwich. The ribs were delicious but what really got me was the delicious fish. Huge portion and worth every penny. Friendly service at the window due to Covid and no inside contact.Let me tell you Ed, I will be back.

I just got a rib dinner @ 1 AM Hall of Fame Weekend. Whoever made this rib dinner needs to be making the dinners every day. Everything was perfect! The ribs were seasoned right and falling off the bone. Sometime the dressing is too salty, but the dressing and yams were perfect. If I can get this every visit, I will be eating here frequently.

I haven't had anything that wasn't amazing and the variety is what keeps everyone at my house happy this is a great family business

My boyfriend has been talking about the food here since we met and we finally made it (New Location- 2600 25th St. NE)! It was so worth it. I had ribs, mac and cheese and yams and everything was perfection. I can't wait to try more. Thanks, Ed.

Have loved this place in the past but today terrible service . I called ahead to order was told 30 minutes , I wanted to picnic in the park with my grandson he wanted Wendy's so we went there first after walking in the park then on to Ed's 35 minutes later. Order wasn't ready and others were waiting ahead of me , my grandson ate all of his food in the car and I got mine 18 minutes later no apologies no extras for the wait. When I got to the park to eat it , these weren't their usual ribs these are what I call " dinosaur ribs" big beef ribs not very tasty. I also got Mac n cheese it was good but they had no greens ( bad planning at dinner time) so I got dressing it was terrible I threw it out. I want to support Black businesses but they have to do better

Very good carry-out soul food. Excellent catfish, greens, sweet potatoes, green beans. The potato salad and baked beans were good too. The mac & cheese was pretty standard, cheesey though. The ribs had plenty of good sause on them, but they were fatty and seemed they could have been smoked longer. The teenage boys (assumed family members) running the front counter weren't particularly friendly or go getters - acted like the had to be there rather than wanting to be. Now for the bad news, we found a hair in the greens. We'll call and let them know as the food was otherwise too good not to go back. We did wait about 15 minutes for our food as they were busy. Since it's carry out, I'd order from the menu that I posted and be sure to ask for the specials as they had several.

This place is the bomb if you like soul food !!! It will be the best soul food you will get in the city of Canton.
