DW Whitaker Meats

Have been coming to DW Whitaker Meats for years. Their apple bourbon bacon and wrapped pork loins are Devine. The Great Lakes brewing Christmas Ale bacon will be out in a few weeks ( a few days after Great Lakes brewing g releases their Christmas ale - gotta give the bacon time to soak)Tim always does an awesome job helping customers. Cleveland is so blessed to have the west side market and so many wonderful vendors

I stopped at the counter after seeing a sign that said they had turkey ribs available. Turkey ribs are so hard to find so I was instantly intrigued. I was helped right away with a smile. They keep the turkey ribs in the back freezer. The ribs come in a pack of 6, but each rib is individually vacuum sealed in case you don't want to make them all at once. Excellent value at just 13 dollars and some change. I waited a week before cooking them. They defrosted easy, were bone in, and came out so tender and juicy. Excellent quality! I will definitely try more items next time I stop in.

I've been buying large orders of ground shoulder among other products for years from D.W. Whitaker and they never disappoint. Everything is always to order and packaged nicely. The quality is as good as you're going to find unless you're willing to pay exorbitant boutique prices. Even then, the quality difference is marginal at best. I highly recommend them. Also, just something to consider... if the meat is dry after you cook it, it's probably the technique rather than the product itself.

My regular place was out of what I was looking for as I got to the market a bit late, so I gave these guys a try. I got ribs, blade stakes and some sausages. The ribs and stakes were great but the sausages were not. Bratwurst we're really dry and had a strange flavor profile that I didn't care for and a cheese and apple one that was a bit more juicy, but just wasn't my thing. I'd buy meat there again, but not sausage. Nice people though.

This business is a must if you're anywhere near the market. The stand is always well stocked and pristine. The employees are knowledgeable and friendly. You can't go wrong with any choice made here. Fresh products and great service.

First time at this shop. Bought some baby back ribs and paid a premium price to get the allegedly meatier ones. I prepared them the same way I have always had success and they were terrible--dry and with very little meat. Third rate meat. I will never go back. Worst ribs I ever had.

I've recently become a WSM regular and DW Whitaker is a go to butcher. Great meats, friendly, and helpful. Cut to order and very reasonable prices.
