Come hungry! ....stopped just to see what the place was like. Found out it is a family owned/operated establishment in the heart of Amish county. Nothing fancy smancy about the place with down to earth wait staff and down to earth food. We ordered pork chops and they were the best we've ever had at any eatery. The chops came with three sides and it was tough to polish it all off. Country music played in the background and patrons filed in at a steady rate. Many appeared to be locals who have probably eaten there many times before. Prices were very reasonable. No liquor is served . Highly recommend and would gladly eat there again.

Before the new owner (Mandy) this place was a 5 start Amish style restaurant. Seems that she is trying to fix something that didn't need fixed. I had the fried fish last year that was so good I brought my parents for their anniversary dinner yesterday. The fried fish was sub-par frozen battered fish at best, totally different than last year. We were served cold mashed potato's x 3, dry pot roast with no gravy, dry meatloaf with no gravy... When I let our waiter and hostess know of the issues, they kind of just shrugged their shoulders and said I know... I hope they can fix their customer service and cook issues. As of a few weeks ago this restaurant was renamed "Mandy's Dutch Treat".

Dutch Treat is basically out in the middle of nowhere, but if you're in the mood for some good amish food, it's probably worth the drive. I had the broaster chicken, which along with the amish bread dressing, had a pretty good flavour. The mashed potatoes were decent (add salt) and the amish noodles were not what I was expecting, but were still okay. There wasn't a lot on the menu that got me excited, but there were some pretty hearty meals that should satisfy any appetite. There was also an ice cream shop up front that I was interested in, but was too full to take advantage of--the meals are pretty filling!

Love this place. Every time I visit Pennsylvania, I have to eat here at least once. The service is great and the food is amazing. I normally get the Spartansburger. It is always fresh beef and comes out hot. The seasoned fries taste just like Arby's curly fries, so I recommend them if this is your bag. The menu has some great Pennsylvania Dutch items and they also have daily specials as well.

Most of the menu is potato, pasta, beef, or gravy. The gravy is from a mix. The beef is overcooked. The mashed potato is from a box. The saving graces of this place are that the noodles are homemade, the salad bar is fresh and kept very clean, and the pies. O the pies. Prices are reasonable. Dining room is crowded. They should remove a couple of tables and allow for more space for the overweight and / or elderly (which is most of their clientele) to navigate their way to and fro the salad bar without spilling their ranch down someone's back.

So good we came back the next day! A ton of food for the price, and a great menu, and everything cooked perfectly. Service was friendly, thoughtful, and excellent. The fried foods were all fried perfectly. Friendly people at the other tables, too! Good music, and good country decor. Definitely a place run with love.

in my book, under the new ownership, Dutch Treat went permanently from 5 Stars to Zero.Clearly, someone doesn't understand the restaurant business but thinks they do. Saturday morning, July 29th, a day that will live in infamy. Nobody wants garbage. One waitress per room full of people, spells owner's greed. The cook was clearly overwhelmed and even money, she'll quit. The charitable folks of Spartansburg sat quietly and paid, but don't fool yourselves, they won't be back and your new perspective business model is going to tank your dreams of riches before Christmas. Disgusting.

I hate dinner here while traveling through the area. I had fried chicken, a baked potato, green beans, and the salad bar. The salad bar was a two. It had iceberg lettuce, a bunch of pickled and premade items, and very few fresh vegetables. The fried chicken was freshly made, and had a good flavor. The baked potato was not soft and fluffy. It was fairly hard and looked like it had been sitting in the warmer for quite a while but was not hot enough to melt the butter. The green beans were straight out of a can and had no seasoning. Overall, It was fine, but I wouldn't rush to try it again.
