Dr. Hibachi Food Truck

Recently my wife and I happened to need to run to Target on Howe Avenue (always seem to need to go to a Target for something!) when we came out, we needed to find something pretty quick because we had to go pick up our son. My wife spotted the bright yellow Dr. Hibachi truck first, and said she had been wanting to try it for a while. So we drove over. There were maybe 3-4 other people in line waiting for their food ahead of us. That being said, within two to three mins, we were able to place our order. My wife ordered the chicken, I went with steak. For a standard order, your meal comes with a meat option (chicken, shrimp, steak, scallop, salmon, or a combo of two), onions, mushrooms, and zucchini, with fried rice. It also comes with the standard soy based sauce and yum yum. For a slight up-charge, you can pick noodles instead of rice. We both went with the standard option. When ordering, everyone seemed so friendly, as was the gentleman that gave us our order. After maybe five minutes, they had given orders to everyone ahead of us, and gave us ours. Super fast! We retired to our car to eat, which was nice because the food was still really hot. The steak was awesome, some of the better hibachi steak I've ever had. I'm not sure exactly what they cook it in, but it wasn't greasy, it was just the right amount of salty (soy sauce I am guessing?), and just a touch sweet. And Oh! So tender! The veggies were still slightly crisp, the rice was cooked great, still had some texture but was nice and soft. Truly one of the better hibachi meals I've had in a long time! It certainly beats all the rapid hibachi restaurants I've had in the area, and I'd dare say it's better than several of the nicer sit down hibachi places locally. We will be back to Howe Avenue at some point, and we will definitely try to seek them out at other places they travel. So my wife and I went to the Springfield Fire food truck event at Springfield lake and there were a lotof good food trucks there. I saw the Dr. Hibachi truck and had to get some food from him. I love me some hibachi, and boy the doctor did not disappoint. I got the combo and chose chicken and steak, it came with zucchini, mushrooms, and onions, (I got mine with out onions). Had rice and noodles and some yum yum sauce. Everything was cooked great and tasted amazing. Definitely worth keeping your eyes open for the yellow Dr. Hibachi truck.

The steak was so tender and the crew was so friendly!! I will be back!! Don't forget to take home a bottle of yum yum sauce.

The food was excellent! It was delicious I ate every bite! I would recommend anyone try. The service was fast as well.

I finally was able to try Dr. Hibachi tonight after hearing nothing but great things. I have to say it was absolutely amazing. You get a large amount of food and it tastes so fresh. The wait wasn't long at all either. I will definitely be watching out for when he is around again.

Steak and noodles very good. My wife really liked the chicken.Noodles were perfect.Highly recommend!

Thanks Dr. Hibachi for a tasty dinner that was quick and easy. Steak and shrimp combo with both rice and noodles really hit the spot! The noodles were more flavorful than the rice but they were both delightful smothered with the yum yum. Portion size was not huge but the quality/quantity was well worth the price. If there truck continues to hang around my neighborhood, I will definitely be back there in the future.

This is one of my favorite food trucks around! Fast service! Good pricing! Food is fantastic!

Foods great, I'm usually at work when they comes so I don't always have the option to grab food but when I can I go.

There I was, I just got three stitches in my chin and seemed down. But then, in the hospital parking lot, there I saw it, Dr Hibachi. It was quite possibly some of the greatest hibachi I have ever tasted and I definitely plan on returning
