This is what I've been waiting for. An upscale restaurant with diaspora inspired flavours with the service and attention you would expect from the Ritz Carlton while exemplifying the absolute best in southern black charm. Ima sucker for good old fashioned customer service. The service alone would make me come back but baby the food. Let me give y'all my experience. Let me start. I saw a post on Facebook and thought to myself I would love to try this place. So one Saturday evening after attending Fevers Candlelight Tribute to Coldplay we decide to give it a try. When we arrived we wanted to know where to park, so we called the restaurant and one of the owners said he would come and valet our car for us! Total shock. We get inside and the vibe and the ambiance was amazing! There was a couple inside enjoying their date. The candles were lit and smelled fantastic by the way. It just gave my husband and I an overall relaxed feeling. The decor was beautiful and it reminded me of some of the great jazz spots in Washington DC. Alice's to be particular. The fireplace was lit and the design choices were carefully crafted. The husband (owner) did a great job of orating the history of the location and the contributions his parents made to both the US military and the local Dentistry community here in northeast Ohio. While the wife (Owner/Chef) did a terrific job of informing us of how the food would be prepared and what flavours and notes were present in each dish and how they would compliment each other. We just live a good cocktail and a story. Speaking of cocktails we tried the "Doli Stoli" a delicious cocktail made with Vodka and infused pineapple. Delectable. I did not eat the appetiser (allergy) which was the Chicken & Shrimp Gumbo consisting of a Rich roux trinity cajun spices and rice. I have to assume it was delicious since I didn't even get to take a picture because the husband was devouring it. I enjoyed the Zuppa Toscana; a tasty soup comprising of Rustic potatoes in savory parmesan broth with house turkey sausage & spinach. I wanted to ditch my manners and lick the bowl but I didn't. The husband enjoyed the Fish & Chips which was a delicious platter of Beer battered Cod filets, crispy fries & creamy slaw w/ house tartar sauce. I don't even know where to begin. Everything was so delicious and fresh. A true burst of flavour exploding in your mouth. I will say this the overall experience was other worldly, but you know the God was good when you get home with leftovers and eat everything without warming it up. Insane. This place is what this community needed. We have the gift of folk who are rooted in community, experts in their field, and actually love what they do and guess what; it shows in their food!

GREAT experience at Doc's on Harvard! The food and service, were outstanding. Girl's night out, my turn to choose, I chose Doc's! We were warmly welcomed upon entering the restaurant. The restaurant is owned and operated by husband William Walker and wife(Chef Kolnita). They took the time to introduce themselves, and learn each of our names. We placed drink orders, and reviewed the menu. We started with the southern fusion rolls, Moroccan shrimp, and seafood cake, as our first course. Second course, we had the table side Caesar salad, and for our entrees, we ordered 2 chicken dinners and 1 pork chop dinner. Everything was served hot and fresh. Our water glasses were never empty, fresh silverware between courses. The food was generously portioned, and perfectly seasoned. We ended our visit with the house dessert, warm banana bread, drizzled with caramel sauce, topped with ice cream and whipped cream. Throughout our visit, Mr. Walker entertained us with stories about the history of the building, the neighborhood and his family. Chef Kolnita, checked on us throughout the meal. We REALLY enjoyed our visit, and looking forward to returning...soon!

It's a nice little place to get away. They do a great job mixing the drinks. The staff always seems friendly. They have some upper-end meals at reasonable prices, at least to me. You would pay a lot more for the same meals at other places. This is a good place to bring friends or a date.

I had a lovely dinner at Doc's. The owners were welcoming and friendly, and the food was great. The place has a lot of history behind it, and a lot of love. I started with the Chicken and Shrimp Gumbo, which was very tasty. Enough spice to be interesting but not so much as to be challenging. For a main course I couldn't decide between the rack of lamb and the fried chicken, so I ended up getting both. I restrained myself and only had half of each, so I can have the rest tonight! I finished off with the Hui Ho dessert, which was banana bread, ice cream, and house made caramel sauce. Yum!

From the minute we walked in, Doc's felt warm, wonderful and "at home." William welcomed us with open arms and an open heart. Every morsel, every conversation, every bit of family history made for a perfect birthday dinner. After an incredible meal (we went on a Wednesday evening) for the brisket taste (amazing!). The young men in the kitchen were also so gracious and professional. And BONUS, as we were about to leave, Chef Kolnita came in with a big smile and hug! What an amazing couple and an amazing place to be. It is truly not to be missed!

I went here last Sunday for brunch and it was magnificent. The fixed price brunch menu was great ... a three course meal starting with lox and caviar, followed by the best fried chicken I've ever had served with small waffles and maple syrup. I also had the shrimp and chicken gumbo and the seafood cake. Everything was top notch. Great gourmet food. I'm anxious to return to try so many more offerings. The owners are awesome and we got a very intriguing history lesson describing the trials and tribulations of this wonderful family. I highly recommend this restaurant. Will definitely be going back.
