Devitis Italian Market

I haven't been here in 20 years, I gotta make an effort to stop by more often. Friendly, old school service. We started at the deli counter. They offer several products imported from Italy. I recommend the mortadella and capacola. Wow, they offered us samples and sliced everything perfectly. You could almost see through the mortadella! Who am I kidding, I picked up some Sicilian pizza, imported pecorino romano, bronze cut pasta and their wonderful cream pancetta sauce. Don't be turned off by the cream, there is just a hint of it in the sauce. It has a little spicy bite but is well balanced. I'm definitely getting this again. To top things off we picked up a box of Italian lemon cookies. The service was so friendly. I started bagging up my items when a nice young man rushed over and bagged things up and offered to carry them out to our car. That's service! I will be back!

Pizza was good. The white pizza was our favorite. Nice family friendly atmosphere. Cash only.

Love DeVitis Italian market. They have a wonderful variety of cheese and their homemade Italian sausage is the best!Huge wine selection, delicious lunches and homemade meals.And you must get the Massoli twist bread, homemade in Akron!

This a great place for your pastas and deli needs. It probably has the best meat ball subs in the area. You can get one whole or deconstructed to take home and eat. The people are great and I have never had anything I didn't like from there.

You can't beat this place for their authenticity, service, and quality Italian foods. I've been going to this market with my family since I was a child. It's not large, and during certain holidays (especially Christmas) it can be a bit chaotic and crowded. That said, this family owned Akron institution is so well run and organized that you can be in and out quickly even during peak hours. They offer their own sauces, homemade heat and eat pasta dishes, locally sourced bread, and the highest quality Italian meats and cheeses. They also have daily lunch specials that Akronites have feasted upon for decades. If they made a candle that smelled like DeViti's, I'd buy 1000 of them and keep them lit in my house year round. This place is the best.

Ok for the most part this is a great establishment in the area and has been a staple for years. I am just being picky on 1 aspect. I been in here to shop. But never had a sandwich or take out. Decided today I was going to pick up a sandwich for dinner. A good Italian sub from an Italian grocery figured it had to be good. It was just OK. I got the Italian Super Sub. All pre made in a case. So you don't get to watch them make it you get the assembly line version. Looked fresh. Bought peppers as well and some chips. Sandwich is just meat and cheese. No extras or dressing or anything else. Plain sub. Seems I could get a better sub at subway. At least I could add some veggies and peppers, dressing too. The sub roll is good. Quality of meats and cheese is there but more bread than meat/cheese. And nothing else. I added Italian dressing and the peppers I bought to zing it up. It was just blah. And I paid $10 for it. The fact that I had to add to it makes it totally not worth it. Best part we're the potato chips. Some generic brand that was awesome! Crunch and salty good. The salads and sides were also in the case and behind the counter. You can get all types of you like. I just didn't want to pay $30 for lunch/dinner. So I passed. Lunch or dinner should be a quick grab. Less than $15 bucks $10 is better than out the door. This was not that. I know prices are up. But $28 for a mediocre sub, peppers, chips, is not worth it.They have a brisk lunch biz. Good for them. Just expected more or better. They do have meatball and sausage subs they make fresh to order. They looked good. Maybe I'll try that next. If I go back. Haven't decided. Plenty of parking, quick in and out for the most part as well.

If you live in Akron or the bear 'burbs, you should go here weekly. Fresh food, fantastic deli, great frozen, homemade dinners, sandwiches, desserts and professional, friendly staff. An Akron Grm for many years.

Very nice people that work here. It's your average sized store, but the best in the area. I wish they offered more hot foods during the day, and that the prices were a little lower though.

Great Italian specialty shop! I always pick up a meatball sub. The meatball premix packets are great for making your own at home!

Meat platter and vegetable platter were great. Ravioli was good but i thought a bit mushy.
