We had the best time at Der Braumeister! The staff was friendly, the food was AMAZING and the bar was entertaining. I ordered the potato pancake Reuben and omg was it good. Especially for people who are gluten intolerant it's nice to have a sandwich that isn't filled with bread. (I don't know if the potato pancake is entirely gluten free but for someone who's intolerant it's definitely a must). We also had the fried sauerkraut and it was so yummy. I had a Moscow mule from the bar which was great and ordered the Cab Franc per the waiters suggestion which was awesome. We finished with a bit of apple streusel and omg was it good. The apple and cinnamon were perfect and the pastry was divine. The atmosphere was very unassuming but cozy and clean. There were nods to German ancestry throughout but well decorated. We will definitely be back.

i love sauerkraut balls (there,i said it !) & i wanted to introduce my son to some of the delicious Bavarian & German food I grew up with... we were not disappointed! Der Braumeiester has been here as long as i can remember, the area has a great history of German & European restaurants, i've been to most, but this place feels the most "authentic" ...yes, it's old. yes, it's funky...very funky, in all the right ways.Surprise must-have appetizer: The Pirogues !! Large, stuffed, onion-y & buttery, cooked to perfection (NOT overcooked) absolutely perfect The Bavarian Pretzel !! The Schnitzel!!!The BLACK FOREST CAKE !!! btw- the hospitality was superb; welcoming, kind, attentive & even funny, the entire staff is wonderful if you enjoy true european cuisine, check it out

Be aware if ordering catering I have never been treated so horribly for misunderstanding that there name on my credit card did not come as the resteraunts name but some strange LLC which I was not aware and literally was hounded and Jen Wirtz was unwilling to compromise to get check after tornado and could get to the bank instead she demanded I call my credit card company which I did than she still wanted a check after I offered it to her in the first place to fix the miscommunication and than she with malice intent wrote on my companies google review..Subject: Request to Remove and Correct Inaccurate Google CommentDear Jen,I recently noticed your comment on my Google review, and I wanted to address it directly. I was surprised and disappointed by your accusations, which are completely untrue and harmful to my family-owned business. I respectfully ask that you remove or correct the comment immediately, as it could otherwise be considered defamatory. I am prepared to take legal action for slander if necessary, but I hope we can resolve this matter without escalation. To clarify the situation: I paid in full for your services. When I initially offered to pay by check, you declined, which I respected. However, the confusion arose because the name on the credit card charge appeared as some other LLC" rather than your restaurant's name. This understandably caused concern, as I had no way of knowing that was linked to your business. Given that banks were closed due to a tornado, I believe this situation could have been handled differently.I would appreciate an apology and a correction on Google, as your comment was not related to an office event but rather a personal transaction. Your food may be excellent, but your behavior regarding this issue has been unfortunate, and I encourage you to approach matters like these with more understanding in the future.I hope we can settle this amicably. Please correct this issue on Google as soon as possible. You were paid in full plus whatever quick books chargedSincerely,Esther Verbovszky

Went to Der Brameister for family celebration. There was 15 of us total and we had a large table in a separate room. My husband loves German food and this was some of the best we ever had. Food came out timely. A waiter was really efficient and personable. Sauerkraut balls were delicious. We loved Wienerschnitzel.German potato salad, purple cabbage, sausage platter and chicken paprikash.Everything was delicious. Great wine selection with reasonable mark up.

Came here for a recent group meal during the holidays, seated in a back room that ended up being private for this event. Servers were very attentive, pleasant and knowledgeable about the entire food and drink menus. We ordered a round of beers, settled on some appetizers to share around the table (along with some salads) and then we placed our meal choices. The appetizer course came out first...sauerkraut balls were tangy, dipped in a hearty German mustard, but their cheese sauce (also for dipping) was rather "mealy" in its mouth feel and tasted processed. The order of pierogies came with two large, deep fried pierogies served with grilled onions and apple sauce...the potato filling was creamy and the fried exterior made for an interesting bite. The German pretzel was dense, perfectly chewy and was really great dipped in the German mustard on the table.Their cucumber salad with a creamy dill sauce came piled atop green leafy lettuce and chopped red onions. Overall this dish lacked flavor, wish it had more of a dill kick to it.My friend and I split two main dishes. The St. Vincent schnitzel was like a German version of veal parmesan, but lacked overall flavor combo. The red sauce could have been applied more liberally, to give the arrangement more oomph. The chicken paprikash had the same deal, decent but lacked a depth of flavor. The breast and thigh pieces were cooked just right, moist and tender on the inside. The accompanying spaetzle were not overly pillowy, kind of chewy, but paired just fine with this dish.Given the low attendance that night, we had the chance to linger at our table making for a leisurely and pleasant meal experience. Thanks again to the wait staff for taking such good care of us!

Came to Der Braumeister for Brunch on a Saturday. This place was FANTASTIC!!!!! It's not an all you can eat buffet style brunch - more a menu driven breakfast/lunch type meal. One of the owners was our server. She knew everything about the available European beer selection and was very helpful when trying to pick the right menu items. I had the Breakfast Sandwich / which included the homemade sausage / that that same server/owner helped make. Prices were cheap for the quality of food we were served. Everyone at brunch absolutely loved their meal today. The sauerkraut balls and potatoes crockets were a perfect shared appetizers as well. I will definitely be back for this one.

Excellent German food beautifully presented. My German friend was very impressed! Our server Taylor was so friendly and knowledgeable. Bartender Kevin makes a great cocktail along with his beer recommendations. The decor is traditional and welcoming.

My wife and I returned to one of our past favorite places - Der Braumeister on August 1st. We were greated quickly and sat at a booth. We were asked for our beverage choices. They had an extensive beer selection! I chose an Oktoberfest which was great. We have always loved the Braumeister's sauerkraut balls and they lived up to memory as being super delicious! We also got the house made German-style pretzel which was also great. For our entrees, we both opted for the build your own schnitzel- my wife selecting chicken while I went with veal. Both were extremely tender. Both came with choice of starch and veggies. We both went with the braised red cabbage and spatzels. A completely delicious meal. Our only regrets? Realizing we needed to visit and support this great establishment more in the future. When you are looking for some authentic, homemade European food in Cleveland, this is a "must stop". Just one visit will have you looking forward to your next visit.
