We really wanted to enjoy DeJuan's. My wife and I were made aware of this establishment 6 months ago and wanted to try it out to support our peeps. Let's start off with first impressions: Parking in this area was challenging. The location was at a prime spot on the corner and very easy to find. We entered a very dark restaurant that was empty at 7:00 pm except for a table of 2 inside on a Friday. The hostess warmly greeted us as she was surfing on a device. We're we're asked which table that we would like ( table or booth?) We chose a table and as we walked there was an odor of food and cleaning floor chemical. I imagine it's because someone tried to clean the floor as it was so sticky, my shoes kept sliding off while walking. We were greeted by a very polite server with glasses of ice water who told us our servers name. Our server then approached us and welcomed us and first asked if we wanted any bread and olive oil. After she returned, she asked us about drinks. We ordered 2. My drink visually appeared delectable but was a punch of glycemic rush without 2 ingredients that it was supposed to have. We were then asked about appetizers: we tried the fried green Tomatoes which was the star of the entire evening. The bowl of lobster bisque soup was huge and everything was plated to perfection but let's talk about the quality. The lobster bisque soup appeared to be flavor enhanced. Comparable to MSG and gave a salt content so high I was dehydrated in the evening. Now on to the main entrees: My wife ordered the Strip Steak- Medium Well. It arrived Medium Rare with a lack of sear. The fat on the fat cap wasn't rendered which made it inedible. Let's talk about the knife: My wife was presented with a Steak knife. After review the knife was used (dirty)and had blood on one third of the distal tip. They gave her another one and the hostess came out and apologized. That was the extent of service recovery. She ordered mash potatoes and broccolini as sides also. We wish she would have been informed that the steak came with a bed of mash and asparagus on the plate already. The mash potatoes looked so odd as we couldn't even tell you what kind of potato was used. It was (swimming) in an oil that we presumed was butter but it wasn't yellow. My rice that accompanied my meal was (swimming) in an oil also and again had the same flavored enhanced taste of msg or high salt content seasoning. The asparagus was fine and the broccolini was fine. So I was asked how I wanted my Red Snapper to arrive: head on or head off? I said why not let's see what this fish looks like with head on. The presentation was marvelous and the fish was good, but to my surprise the sauce around the fish appeared to be the same flavor enhanced Lobster Bisque soup that I started with. We skipped dessert as we wanted to get out as gnats kept interfering with our meal. I now understand why the lack of reviews and empty establishment. I'm only giving 2 stars because the fried green tomatoes were amazing.

I honestly don't know how this restaurant wasn't booked like crazy. Seriously the best restaurant in Akron. Everything was phenomenal. The service was amazing, the ambiance was vibrant without being too overwhelming. And then there's the food... oh my goodness. The food was next level. The presentation was stunning and the flavors were perfection. Definitely go check it out immediately! This is the next big thing.

I was in town from LA for a funeral and came in on Father's Day, the staff starting from the hostesses, to the waitress and managers were absolutely amazing! The food was incredible and to be honest was the best food I had while on my 5 day trip to Akron. I had the Grilled Turkey Chops with the marsala cream over rice and the broccolini as suggested by our waitress. It was so good the turkey chops and the rice were packed with so much flavor and the broccolini was cooked perfectly it wasn't oily as broccolini usually is. I also had the crab cakes as a starter and they were good as well, I'm a big crab snob but I ate them both and they were a good size with a good sauce. My wife had the veggie stack and tore it up and said the mushroom on top was so flavorful it tasted like she had a steak (she's vegetarian so that's a big win).Now the drinks!!! The bartender which I forgot the lady's name man oh man my old fashioned was INCREDIBLE and she put the orange on the bottom of the glass with the on top so the drink has more flavor (an idea I'm stealing and using back home) and my mom had the perfect Shirley Temple that she raved over and posted on her facebook! The music was great too it was jazz covers and not super loud the seats were comfortable and the aesthetic of the whole restaurant was beautiful (fine dining meets grown and sexy), they even had a high chair for my 9 month old who also enjoyed the veggies!They have a lifetime customer every time I come to Akron and I highly recommend checking them out if you are looking for a nice place to go enjoy some great food and drinks! - KevthaWriter approves!!!

Great food. The service is amazing. Especially Diamond Williams. The Ambiance in there is marvelous. They have a beautiful atmosphere and excellent food and service. Will definitely be back.

Best in the city, the atmosphere alone is great! The vibe, the food, and the staff is all top tier!!!

The entrees were delicious. My wife enjoyed the salmon. My daughter's steak was cooked to perfection, and I would definitely recommend the scallops. We were celebrating a birthday and the staff was friendly and attentive.

You must go and try anything that says "salmon" LOL. I went for my cousins birthday and my cousin had the crispy salmon!!! I switched my order from the tacos, the Salmon was AMAZING! I looked over and the Birthday Girl had Stuffed Salmon...Switched again! AMAZING! My server Rai was great! The ambiance, food and service ...top tier!

My two daughters, grand daughter and I went to DeJuan's on Saturday 4/27/24 for my birthday dinner. Our reservation was at 8pm. First time going there.We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was delightful. I had the shrimp scampi and daughters had salmon. This is definitely on our list of favorites.We had a pleasant surprise, we had to wait a little bit longer for our food due to other big parties (no big deal to us), however the management came to our booth and apologized for the slight delay and took care of the whole bill for the night. We did not have to pay a dime. WOW!. We have been to other restaurants but never received such pleasant service. On top of such wonderful gesture, I was given a signature glass as a birthday gift. KUDOS to Erica, Tracy and our server Navel (i hope i spelled it right). We thank you sincerely for making our day. We will definitely come back again.

food was trash. service was poor. Burger was raw and my friend ordered a steak also came out raw.

The service was amazing! My server was Rai and he was great, very attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. The food was very good, came out nice and hot and everything was nicely seasoned!
