Yep, two red shopping carts in the middle of the street. Inconceivable.

What a great addition to Midtown! I love the salad bar, sushi made to order, hot meals to go and the other fresh options for lunches. The grocery prices have gone higher since moving from Payne and E. 40, but the choices of the to go choices makes up for it. My falafel wrap today was $5, it was packed with goodness! They carry a lot of local products. The isles are named after Cleveland streets. I was hesitant to go the new location because I am missing my small E. 40, they were my breakfast go to place.

I pass by this store frequently on my way to Park to Shop on E30th and Payne. Every time I pass by, I have to stop at a green traffic light because people are always illegally crossing the street from the parking lot to the grocery store. And if they aren't, they're double parking along the side of the road to load their groceries.Today, as I passed by again, I saw two grocery carts literally in the middle of the street. I watched two cars awkwardly drive around them from the other side. I know this because again, I had to wait for people to cross the street while my light was green. It seems like this place could really do with better road traffic and a parking lot next to the grocery store.I shopped here before too and found the "freshly baked bread" to be stale, and customer service lacking. The clerk just grunted at me as I paid, barely acknowledging my presence. I haven't gone since, as the Dave's closer to where I live is better in terms of parking, produce, and customer service.

The stars are only for the pastries. The doughnuts and glazed croissants are so *bleeping* amazing. Krispy Kreme who? It's a bakery in this location so the doughnuts are fresh and the size of a baby's head. You can get a dozen for like $6 and you'll likely eat 2 before you get to your destination. I've not purchased anything aside from doughnuts here but it seems to be a neighborhood store. Like, the same people frequent this location because it's in walking distance to their home. I've noticed it'sA lot of elderly people at this location whenever I go so the lines move a bit slower. The cashiers always have patience as far as I've seen so that definitely a plus.

Pros: I've been here three times....two of which were very busy gauged on the foot traffic and the parking lot but NEVER waited in line ever. They staff this place very well! You also get to bring your grocery cart to your car....that's SHOULDN'T be a pro but it, unfortunately, is.Cons: The parking lot is across the street. No biggie overall with that though. The store isn't the cleanest store in the world. I've been to a few Dave's....it's the dirtiest thus far but not gross by any means. I think just a lot of traffic in a day....hence the staffed-out registers.

I used to work around the corner from here so from time to time I would get food on my lunch break from here. They have the usual fried foods (chicken, french fries, shrimp, etc...) and prepared sandwiches. BUT, they have a really awesome salad bar. It's always stocked full of an assortment of veggies, dressings, fresh fruit, and various proteins (meats and nuts) and if they are out of something you just ask at the counter and they'll get it ASAP for you. It's also a regular grocery store so it was nice to have a place I could pick up random stuff I would need (bread, cereal, juice, etc...) on my lunch break. I would avoid this place on the first of the month because it is in a low income area so it is pretty busy with people buying food. Otherwise, this place isn't too bad. They get three stars because their main parking lot is across the street and it can suck waiting for the light to change or the traffic to clear when it is raining or really cold outside.

I ran in here to grab some beer when I was last in Cleveland. First off, the parking situation really really stinks. The lot is across the street and isn't exactly easy to get in and out of. There is a stoplight right in front of the store. I mean, smack-dab dead center in front of the place. This exacerbates the parking challenges. The store itself if straight forward. It's a grocery. They have everything you'd expect, though the beer selection could be better. The staff were very friendly. Everyone I interacted with was pleasant and smiling. The woman who checked me out was joking around and having fun. It seemed like a positive atmosphere all around. Even customers seemed happy. Upon reflection, that seems odd. Hmmmm......Anyway, it's a good, albeit poorly located, grocery store.

This grocery store has by far the worst customer service I have ever seen in my entire life!!!! Unfortunately it is the most convenient location for me to shop. The cashiers constantly talk to each other during every transaction. Employees don't offer in assistance, even if you ask. Constant incorrect pricing, and lots of unprofessional behavior. I'm praying for a new shopping market in this area.

Very dirty store! Never enough cash registers open and lines are usually long. The workers are unprofessional at the bakery. Every time I go they are talking very loud about the inappropriate things they do with guys. The parking lot is a cross the street and someone will probably try to sell you something. I usually love this store, but not at this location.

I remember when I was kid and my mom used to bring me here and I must say they've definitely cleaned the place up. I will only come here on Saturdays, when they fully stock place and before 10am, before the eye raising crowds pile in. Everything was nicely stocked and they serve my favorite croissant glazed doughnuts. Thanks to my cousin for letting me know Dave's makes them.

I wish I lived closer to a Dave's (or that I got myself together enough to get groceries immediately after work). This location is about a block away from my office and sometimes we walk over to make very tasty salads at their FABULOUS salad bar. We need to do that more often, really. One of my coworkers loves the iceberg and she can get that from Dave's salad bar. And I can get my mixed greens there and for those who love a spinach salad that option is also available. [[[[[[Side note: why on earth is it so hard to get a mixed greens salad at so many places- forget the Cotton campaign! Can't Zooey Deschanel do a song about how awesome mixed greens are?]]]]]]Ok- back to Dave's awesome salad bar. They've really got a great selection of veggies, meats, dressings and even fruits and cheeses! And it's really affordable. You could also easily be distracted by the scents of fried yummie-ness. Or the baked goods- like the cake/ cookie combination thing made into a sandwich with icing in between...Dave's has great specials on produce each week. You can count on walking in and finding a good deal on either berries, bananas, citrus, etc. and I think that's great! The store isn't gigantic but it certainly makes the most of the space! They have the weekly specials on other stuff, too. Since I'm mostly going on lunch break (maybe I'll get it together sometime so I can get all my groceries there) I've only enjoyed some of their deals. I've gotten my fat-free tasty flavored coffee creamer, some of my fave juice, and a number of other items I usually buy but at a worse price. You've got to get used to the layout of the store- if Dave's made a little map it would ROCK! Once you do, though you'll really appreciate Dave's. This location has recently arranged a space over to the side that has the toiletries and that's a cool addition. I like that Dave's has people who work there. You NEVER have to hunt down someone to ask a question. People work there!!! And people, not machines, ring you up- by having people as cashiers you know that Dave's again invests in the community by hiring more people than those big stores in the burbs. Speaking of which- one of the things I really love about Dave's is that their stores are located in what would otherwise be a food desert. These are in locations where other grocers won't go. Places where folks have usually had to shop at convenience stores and bodegas which can be great for some items, but; sell minimal produce, and carry groceries at inflated prices. A friend of mine worked on one edge of a food desert and lived closer to the other opposite edge. He could get home by taking a less direct route and go a bit out of the way and grab some groceries- sometimes you don't want to do that. One night after a hard day at work he was craving a banana. He went to three or four of those little corner stores before finding any sort of fresh fruit. He had to go to a few more to find a single banana! Which cost him $2 (never mind all of the time searching). That's absurd. And it seems like Dave's gets that it is absurd for someone to go all over to get a banana at an insanely high price. Dave's is one of the few stores that isn't afraid to take on the food desert. Get to know a Dave's near you!
