Compadres Mexican Restaurant

The food was outstanding. Had the taco salad and chicken and rice. The servicing size was just right. Price is very fair. The service was perfect. They come around just enough, but not in the rush you out kinda way.The places was clean. I have nothing negative at all to say about today's experience.

No waiting Sunday, 1330. Quaint. Friendly, attentive service. Festive decor. Dirty floors. Food cooked to golden brown yumminess. Full bar.

I think I have had everything on the menu. Not a bad choice here. Great portions, solid chips and salsa, and a full bar. Service is awesome food comes out quick. No complaints.

I stopped by here a couple of Sundays ago with my wife for lunch. We were driving through Meadville at around lunchtime whenever I decided that we should stop at Compadres. You see, I went to school at Allegheny and had some fond memories of the food. While it isn't located in the same location, the food is certainly the same and I would say that the location in the old ponderosa is even more convenient. Whenever we arrived at the restaurant we were immediately greeted by a hostess and taken to a booth. The decor here still sort of reminds of the ponderosa that used to be here as it feels like old west but it wasn't so out of place in a Mexican restaurant. After we were seated we were given complimentary chips and salsa. Neither the chips nor salsa are anything special but they are that special word, free.For lunch on this day I found one of the dishes that I remember ordering from my college days, the burritos aztecas, and decided to order it again. The menu describes it as three burritos (one ground beef, one cheese, one chicken) topped with 3 of their homemade sauces. Whenever it comes to the table it ends up looking like a Mexican flag because the sauces are a green salsa, a red salsa and a white cheese sauce. Like I remembered all of the burritos tasted good and were enhanced by the sauces. Sauce wise I liked the green one the best and protein wise I liked the chicken the best. It came with a giant plate filled with sides of refried beans, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream and rice. Without this plate I don't think it would have been enough food but with it there was definitely enough.The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I enjoyed my walk down memory lane by coming here and thought that the food was still pretty good too.

Didn't have a nutritional menu for my T1D daughter. Our waiter seemed like she didn't know a lot, or maybe she was just shy. Could barely hear her over the background noise in the restaurant. The meat was way overcooked. My added shrimp were forgotten. When they did arrive, they were bland and also overcooked. Our server never really checked up on us. We waited to get our check for 15 minutes. A few people that sat down after us were already gone. The only thing we really liked was the look of the place.

We had eaten here before and enjoyed the food, but not this time. First, they brought out the wrong order, and it was terrible. They did offer to bring out what I ordered, so I got it to go. My Burritos Aztecaswife had a burrito (chicken) and said it was "okay." The best thing about the meal was the guacamole, which tasted fresh. Don't think we'll be coming back.

I am picky about Mex food ( I am Texan) especially when its $45 for lunch. I asked for street tacos .....not good-$17.99 for sweet red onion ( mex food uses white onion for heat) white corn tortillas almost crunchy ( should be soft thicker yellow corn ) , asked for extra lime got 2 slices ( and did not see - very nice but not available -waitress again til ticket time) very bland almost weird red coated chicken.....beans were super bland , rice? more so .....the sliced avocado ( one for $4.69) was perfect .....salsa is too sweet , chips not salted, other person got a taco salad (sans beans) which was pretty small and not fully filled ...( $14.99) they also charged $3.69 for sweet tea which was never refilled.....I had planned to get a to go order for family but opted out after this experience .....overpriced and bland .....and went through me way to quickly! Won't be back .

In town for a softball tournament. Very friendly staff. We asked to watch The Ohio State game. They quickly put it on one of the tvs. They even put the sound on even though we didn't ask. Very thoughtful. Quick service. Food was delicious. We got chimichangas, burritos deluxe and grilled nachos. My husband said those may have been the best nachos he has ever had...we eat a lot of Mexican cuisine so that is huge. Highly recommend!

Spicy Margs were amazing The food was so tasty and freshBest Mexican food I've had in a long time.

Food was fantastic my husband took me there for a date night and it was amazing service was great will be coming back again soon
