Codex Brewing

Great seasonal beer. Fall of the House of Butternut and the Barrel Aged Unparalleled Glory were outstanding on a cold wintery, rainy day. All while watching the Browns trying to give another game away.

Visiting Canton and we had some time on our hands before meeting up with family for dinner, so we stopped in here for a flight. While I think the building is new, this is the old location of the Hot Tub Club. If you're from Canton, you know what an honor it is just to be in this spot. The brewery itself is great. The space is large and clean. There are some literary allusions in the beer names and decor (the tap handles, for example, are mounted into an old school card catalog). It's enough that you see the theme but not so heavy handed that you feel like a sci fi book club is going to break out at the bar stools next you. My husband had a flight and worked his way through most of the tap list over the time we were there. He especially like the hazy IPA he sampled. I had a fruited ale and then sipped some of his flight. The white chocolate version of the fruited ale was also outstanding - it was like a berries and cream beer. Staff were friendly and helpful. We bought a six pack of the hazy IPA to go and shared it over dinner with the family. Definitely worth a stop to support a local brewer!

Cute local brewery. Very clean, great beer selection and trendy quaint atmosphere. I recommend trying the hazy!
