Cocina de Carlos

YUM! I have both dined-in and ordered carry-out from Cocina de Carlos, and both experiences were great! The food is excellent, and portions are generous. Each meal seems to be very thoughtfully prepared. Every person I have interacted with at this restaurant has been very friendly, the wait time for food is very short. Drink-wise, I have only tried the Texas margarita, and it's good and strong. A very comfortable environment has been cultivated in this restaurant, and the music is good but not loud. The porch is great when the weather is nice.My coworkers and I have made a habit of coming to Cocina de Carlos every time we are in town, and it is certainly a highlight of our work trips. Highly recommend.

Staff was helpful and welcoming. GIGANTIC proportions of homemade cuisine.Extremely vegan/vegetarian friendly.

My in laws chose this for our Christmas dinner. We ordered take out and it was ready very fast. They put the food in cardboard/paper containers. My containers were practically falling apart because it was saturated with liquid from my food. I get trying to be eco friendly but maybe only do that for dry foods! My husband and I both agreed the food was just OK. When I eat at my favorite Mexican restaurant I xan taste different ingredients and it's a flavor party. The food from here tasted all muddled together. Nothing really stood out. It wasn't great or bad, just meh.I have been to the actual restaurant years ago and they had a buffet. I enjoyed that because you could put together what you wanted. Still I would not be my 1st choice of restaurants.

If you happen to be passing through Perrysburg Ohio and are in the mood for Mexican food- this is the place to be! The food was delicious and they had many unique options. I ordered the queso chicken and it was a plate of seasoned chicken small strips covered in queso cheese and it came with delicious rice and refried beans. I also ordered a side of the habanero hot sauce (which they forgot to bring and when I reminded the waiter it took forever for him to bring it. That would be my one complaint about this restaurant). The hot sauce was awesome- I wish it came sooner!!My friend ordered burritos deluxe which consisted of one beef burrito and one chicken burrito. Both burritos were huge and covered in cheese.

The food is always good here. The service is friendly and fast. The interior is clean and well kept. One of the best, middle of the road, Mexican restaurants in Toledo.

Very fast and efficient service. Concina de Carlos was a good option while passing through to Columbus. They had a pretty extensive vegan menu, but it wasn't really anything exciting. They were out of the vegan "meat" that I was excited to try and subbed "sausage" which I thought would be ground, but it was like a bratwurst. Strange choice for a taco. Rice and beans and chips were great.

First time at this super cute restaurant. Great food. Great service. So glad this restaurant offers eating outside. Saturday was a beautiful day for great weather and great food. Very prompt service!!! Definitely recommend this restaurant. Will absolutely go back.

There is no way this is four stars. Food was not good. The carnitas was dry and inedible. Two bites and I was done. The chile rellano was lacking flavor and when cut into the cheese all came out and was the consistency of queso dip. Not good. Ambiance was like a typical Mexican style restaurant and was nice. Service sucked. We ordered an extra side of something and never received it. They never asked, nor gave us refills. When you leave 2/3s of your food on the plate, the server should have the presence of mind to ask what was wrong with the food. Took too long for us to get our check. In fact when we did get out servers attention, he was sitting down on his phone and not watching his tables. Go across the street to Condado tacos and eat there. Really good appetizers, drinks and tacos. Way better.

I'm ok with spicy and don't really like "heat" but the tacos I had here were the most bland, tasteless things I've ever had. Had two chicken tacos and two beef tacos, and the meat all seemed like it had been sitting in warm water all day. It had that boiled taste and consistency. Terrible.On a previous trip I had a chicken chimichanga and it was pretty bland, too. There was barely any cheese on it which was pretty sad.Service here has been average at best, too. First trip there were some communication issues we had with the server. Second trip that wasn't a problem, but the waitress never came back until it was time for the check. They weren't busy, so not sure why she was so inattentive. Unimpressed the two visits, so unlikely to return.

Found this via Yelp and gave them a try. I was not disappointed. The tacos were great. Service was perfect.
