They tout themselves as "Cleveland's Favorite Steakhouse," and they delivered that big-time in a recent business dinner visit. Located in Cleveland's vibrant downtown business district, Cleveland Chop had superb options for burgers, steaks, and seafood, which delayed my order due to being way too hungry. The staff was friendly, personable, and energetic. I enjoyed the Steak Cigar appetizer, a tasty steak and cheese combination that resembled an egg roll. Served in a group of four, they were delicious with their companion cheese mustard. I whiffed and forgot to order a salad, and after seeing others enjoy theirs, I won't make that mistake again. My Farge Islands Salmon main dish was excellent, a tasty piece of fish that has spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, and risotto. Wasn't in a steak mode, and so glad that I picked this fish! GREAT service by our server, as she was both helpful and kind.

Service was good after they knew I i'ed been seated in the dining room. Ordered the prime cut New York strip, medium well, came out on the rare side. Was able to send it back and have it warmed up, not a problem. Overall, the steak was OK. I do believe my green egg can make a better steak.

It was good. It was an old-fashioned steakhouse just what you would expect. It was a nice pre-theater dinner

We went to celebrate new years. The appetizers were solid but we found the steaks a bit lackluster. They were great about us having to send it back. My lobster tail was missed despite my having ordered it before my date. It came out fairly quickly when I asked about it. It's a pretty space with unique art from Cleveland's history, but I've had better steaks at Harry's and Delmonico's. Overall, it wasn't worth the price. I would go again, but I wouldn't be the one to initiate it as I think there are other better options.

This review is a bit late due to it being saved as a draft instead of posted accidentally. Atmosphere: The place was nice enough. For the prices on the menu, I would have thought we would be seated at a nicer table but turned out it didn't matter at the end of the visit anyway. I will say that our waitress was the only good thing about our visit. Food: We ordered our drinks first. The complimentary cornbread was actually very delicious. We ordered a plate of the risotto to share and then steaks as our entrees. Now I totally get that that ordering a steak medium-well should be a sin but my partner likes what she likes (even if it's wrong). She ordered a sirloin medium-well with mushrooms and I ordered a filet medium-rare. The risotto was absolutely delicious. But unfortunately, my steak was way overcooked and my partner's was DEAD. Just completely grey and for some reason butterflied for no reason. When we had told our waitress this (she even looked at the steaks and agreed) she grabbed the plates and went on her way to the back. Which was a shame because she took my portion of risotto along with it before I had the chance to ask her to let me put that back on the risotto plate because I was enjoying it. Now, the waitress was an absolute gem. So nothing against her. But the second steaks came out and (I wish I had gotten pictures of the second steaks) but my filet was complete cartilage didn't even look like the cut was a filet and again my partner's steak was butterflied for no reason and completely dry and a grey puck. At that point, we were just done with the whole experience. The manager (or whoever this basic mean girl was) came up to us and asked if we wanted them to try again (while never saying sorry, being apologetic and very rudely). We told her no and just to take it. We ended are night on a high note by going to see Annie Live but this was supposed to be the pre-show dinner and it was just utterly disappointing on all fronts. Food and service. (Except for the waitress who felt horrible).

The medium well burger was well done and left something to be desired. The seared Brussels sprouts were insipid, containing no apparent seasoning. The crispy calamari was gooey, but most likely because of take out. We've had take out elsewhere that was crispy. It was plentiful, albeit odious, and not at all enjoyable. We had high hopes based on a few reviews but were very disappointed with our choice for our first meal in Cleveland. It was too pricey to be this mid. Elevated to 2 stars for the tasty, but not so basque, basque cheesecake. 2 stars is generous.

The place had a good vibe and nice bartender. I asked and was told the pork chop was a good choice but unfortunately was told after the fact they ran out. He recommended the rib eye but it was fatty and not so great. Not sure how the steaks are based on that experience. Mashed potatoes and asparagus were good.
