On a roadtrip through Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York, my wife and I decided to stop at Clay Street Grill for dinner as we passed through the town. There wasn't much in the way of local, non-chain, food places, so Clay Street Grill was it.My wife ordered a salad, and I ordered a Reuben sandwich and onion rings. The salad was somewhat sad -- it was wilted and unappealing, and it had way too much dressing on it. The sandwich and onion rings were fine, but nothing special. We only had soft drinks. The place seems like one where locals gather to sing bad karaoke or down cheap beer. Who knows. It was ok, but I wouldn't go back

My compliments for the cheesesteak sub and the onion rings...my sub was made to order and I was very satisfied. The ambiance is that of a local bar and the staff are very friendly. Clay's Grill is my new go to for a good cheesesteak sub when in Ashtabula.

It's an OK spot for a cold beer and sandwich. The whole menu wasn't available for our visit, so, can't judge that

I'm back again. I like clay street grill. A simple sports bar with great food. My burger was great. Service is always great. Mostly a local place decent music.

Our ladies' group meets once a month at different restaurants and last night we decided to go to Clay Street Grill. The volume on the TV's was obnoxiously loud; we could not hear each other talk. The menu had some wonderful sounding meals, but the waitress told us that they only had a limited menu available on Mondays (appetizers, wings and hoagies) because the management schedules limited staff on Mondays. They had one bartender, one waitress and one cook on duty. Table seating is limited. The dinner height tables had food particles in the crevices between the tables and had obviously not been separated for cleaning in some time. The potato skins and wings were good but overall the whole experience was disappointing. The business is represented as a Grill but is more of a bar then Grill. Don't waste your time.

I waited over an hour from the time I ordered until I received my food. I ordered fish and chips and both were sitting in grease and very soggy because the oil wasn't hot enough when they cooked them. Food came served in a plastic basket sitting on greasy paper instead of a normal plate. I also froze my ass off because the heat was on so low. I was disappointed.

Bartender was great. Smiling and quick. I've been there before and food is always good. Still waiting for bars like these to keep their kitchens open past 9pm. When will we get past this Covid hours crap. I like late night bar food. They also close the bar early.

Have been eating there for years. Has steadily gone down in food and service. Was such a nice place when it was Bucks. Now a average bar.

the entire restaurant is dirty and unsanitary, and the food is overpriced trash. i can't believe this place doesn't have a health code violation.

It's... fine... not "good", not "bad". Lots of previously frozen food and prepackaged mediocrity. Typical dive bar food. I will say, happy hour deal on some drafts is exceptional. Like $2 for a very frosty 24oz is a heck of a deal.
