The pizza was very good and the staff was super nice. We went on a really messy night but everyone in the store was very warm and welcoming. No complaints!

I guess I have high standards for a wood fired pizza place because my local one (nights & weekends) is what we were looking to upgrade. Still haven't found one...The pizza at citizens was a little under cooked, they used way too much corn starch on the crust and the toppings were laid on top thick leaving the pizza soggy. Sauce was quite watery. I will say that the waitress/pie maker was very friendly and attentive given we were the only customers there. She did turn on the browns game for us to boot!

They were open during a snowstorm (but planning to close early) so I ran inside to finally try their food. Very nice, clean, and trendy interior. Order at the counter, and pizza was brought to the table. Pizza came out very quickly, when I first got it I had to wait a little because the toppings were sliding off. Taste was nice, a little burnt on the sides as you see in the picture below. Good quality ingredients, very similar to most "fired" type of restaurant pizzas. I've had this spot on my list to try for years after I read about the Lithuanian owner's story. Business finally took me to Cleveland so I'm glad to finally cross it off the list.

We dropped by Citizen Pie for a weekend lunch to see what other Neapolitan-style pizza places could offer after eating at Vero Pizza the previous night. We placed an online order right when they opened at 11:30AM, went inside and waited to see the pizza making magic. They take a dough ball, flatten and twirl it, then add some toppings. It's placed in the oven - the website claims only a 90 second cook time, but we timed it and it took around 210 seconds, plus an additional couple of seconds where they used the pizza peel to raise the pie towards the top of the oven. Perhaps since we went so early, the oven wasn't up to temperature yet? At any rate, the pizza was cooked pretty much perfectly. We opened the box and started digging in maybe only a minute or two after receiving the pizza. Americano ($18) - There's a bit of char on the crust, with a cornicione that rises up an inch or so and is a bit crisp on the exterior skin. The rise and flavor in the crust is a little less developed than Vero, but is still pretty good. There's a sprinkling of seasoning and salt on the crust. The toppings include a layer of pistachio cream spread evenly on the bottom, then topped with mozzarella, Italian sausage, red onion, green onion, calabrian chilis, and whole pistachios. There is a ton of cheese that gives a good cheese pull. The ingredients are ample and heavy, causing the middle crust to be floppy and the toppings easily slide off (normal for this type of pizza). The pizza overall is quite a bit on the salty side and the tastes kind of meld together and become muddled. We probably should have gone with one of the simpler and more traditional pizzas like the margherita, but we wanted to try something a bit different. (4/5)Bathrooms - Two individual rooms, one for men, one for women. Hand dryer only.As a side note - I don't know if it's just the style of Cleveland pizza website or something, but the story of the pizzaiolo at Citizens Pie sounds even more pretentious than Vero. "Tonight V will wake again in the small hours, explain to his wife, 'I have to make pizza...'" Seriously, who says stuff like this?Citizen Pie puts out some good, but not outstanding Neapolitan-style pizzas. In my opinion, it's not nearly as good as Vero, but it's certainly way more affordable ($13 for margherita here, $24 at Vero). I think it's a good visit if you're in Ohio City or around some of the other locations.

$19 for this. They didn't even melt the cheese the rest of the way as I'm sure they realized something had gone wrong. THEN, I tried to call and they wouldn't answer the phone. There are so many great pizza places. Why put up with this?

We had a group of engineers in from Japan and they wanted American style pizza. Since there are multiple we just chose on close to the job site. Since we were rained out we opted to have a late lunch so we had the whole place to ourselves. We split four delicious pies. They were awesome. Since we were done for the day we also had beer with the pies. Drink selection is limited to canned or bottle drinks. No drink fountain and by the lack of parking I am guess most of the business is carryout. Parking was also challenging. The vibe is very eclectic with lots of pix and posters of left wing and communist propaganda so definitely fits the current college scene. Other than poor decoration and politics the place is great. Oh they definitely do not give the food or beer away so poster are Socialist/Communist but the it is definitely a capitalist business. Great food.

First off, it indicates that Yelpers have indicated this establishment is closed. No, that is not the case as of Sat. 7/8/23. In fact, the hours listed on the door indicated they are open for lunch every day that they are open (I believe, although don't quote me on it).Ventured in on a late afternoon Saturday (maybe around 4 pm). We were the only ones in there. Order at the counter, take a seat and they bring you the goods.First off, let's get the bad out of the way. We ordered two salads - house salad and a Caesar salad. They give you a "Ken's Steakhouse" packet as your dressing of choice. The croutons came from a bag. The parmesan for the Caesar was powdered, probably from an institutional bag/can. Clearly obvious, they have no desire to put any emphasis into their salads. Good news, they were only $4. I highly recommend making in-house a couple of dressings and buy a chunk of parm. reggiano. For croutons, use some leftover dough. Step up your salad game.Beverages - there is a small cooler. My wife chose the "White wine" on tap and said it was awful. Again, to me, a very quick fix. You could upgrade you beverage focus with a few quality names. Why not make some additional money from salads and beverages. Now let's get to the good news, which is the main reason you are going there. The pizzas!!! We got the Ham and Cheese (white sauce) and the Diavola (red sauce). They were very, very good. Wood fired crust was superb. Incredibly tasty. Would highly recommend you going in to try their pizzas.Overall, well worthy of a visit for some of the better pizzas in north east ohio!

Definitely a solid pizza option here in Cleveland. Probably in my top 5 or so. Pizzas are always fresh made to order. Service is quick. The inside is set as a small intimate pizza shop. Definitely a good pie if your close by
