Chud's

Chud's offers a hometown bar/grille experience that I wish I knew about when I lived in the area! Owned by a local family for generations, they seem to be a staple for the people of Fremont. Expect bar/grille fare at very reasonable prices. I had French onion soup on the cold day we visited, along with a regular burger and fries. The soup was very good, not too salty, but could have used a few more onions to make it perfect. The burger was spot on and the fries a great homemade addition. I also had the winter special drink, hot buttered rum. Boy am I glad so did - a warm, smooth addition it was!The only downside to our visit was that it took like 15 minutes before a waiter/waitress actually acknowledged our existence. It was packed full but a quick, we'll be right with you would have sufficed.If you are visiting the Hayes house, family, or just driving on by Fremont, this place is worth the detour!

Nice place, didn't know what to expect from the outside but was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. Bar looks great, bit of a bummer nothing is on tap, all cans and bottles. Ordered a couple of each flavor wing, I think the hot garlic parmesan was my favorite, though I would prefer if they were fried instead of baked, they were delicious anyway. Reuben was delicious, great bread and ratio of meats/sauerkraut/sauce. Turkey club was tasty as well but the bread got a bit soggy too quickly and made it tough to eat. Our server was fantastic, really made sure we were enjoying the meal, was very attentive and was generally a delight. Will definitely eat here again when I'm in the area.

Great service! Always helpful picking your lunch specials. Nice local joint! I try to stop when I am in town! Hidden gem! They have usual lunch fair mixed with a lot of good new specials!

Had lunch here today as part of a group of five. It was delicious and satisfying with excellent service.I had the Chud's Burger. It was good sized (1/3-1/2 pound patty) with several long strips of bacon. Two had a special -- ciabatta chicken sandwich -- which they said was excellent. It also came with waffle fries. Another had the grilled chicken salad, which came in a large bowl. Well done, Chudzinskis!

Service was great at the bar, just food is "so so" if ya like tyson chicken breasts and mediocre family dinners this may be a good place to go. Just good cafeteria style food.

Ordered a Mississippi Chicken Sandwich, and did not expect it to be that small for 8 dollars. It was completely missing any BBQ sauce that it stated on the menu it would have. Terrible first impression and will not be coming back. Lady at the counter was polite though!

Great service and foo. The liver and onions were great. If we lived close we would be here everyday! The peanut butter pie was a wow factor.

Wonderful service and the food was excellent!! Great portions and very affordable. We are form out of town and found this cute neighborhood bar/tavern by accident. Glad we did!!

"Cheer's" kinda place. Never had a bad meal or a weak drink here. Homemade soups and Reuben's are great!

Excellent prime rib. Nice atmosphere and great staff. My ONLY complaint is they don't have draft beer. Strongly recommend it
