I can't eat this... I'm not driving back up there to get it fixed. This rice smells like FEET. I Hope I don't get sick from the little but I ate, I'm pretty sure it's bad. I don't know why you guys are getting worse, but you are :(

When I went the food had a piece of wax and I almost choked on it and who knows maybe could have got really sick. Now the reason I have this place a 2 because the service was really nice and good and the decor was good but the menus looked like a printed out sheet of cardboard paper.I do not recommend but if so watch out for a bad experience.

The food here has always been consistent. We order take out regularly. It is your run of the mill Chinese food, lots of options and great egg rolls. The are fast courteous and always get our order correct. There is no place to eat-in since COVID but that's not a bad thing.

I think this is my third time eating here but it will be my last. We usually prefer to go to number one kitchen in Elyria but this place is so close to my house I figured I would go there again. I ordered the seafood platter, got some beef lo mein for my wife and some pork fried rice. The seafood platter was unappealing and slimy. The pork fried rice was very bland and so was the beef lo mein. Oh yeah, we ordered the fried potstickers/dumplings as well and they just weren't very good. Sorry I can't give you a better description but I can't recommend China star to anyone.

China Star is what it is, as far as traditional "American" chinese goes. We've been twice now and both times we've been more than pleased.Food:Both times the same.., egg rolls, wonton soup, pork Lo Mein, shrimp egg foo young. It is all delicious (which is why we duplicated).Staff:Not friendly, no smiles, all businessAppeal:Basic and simple. Not dirty but, not spotless either... We prefer take out

Food sucked and over half the dinner was fried rice. I will stick to the Mandarin in Oberlin.

My wife and I moved to Elyria not too long ago, and noticed China Star was the closest Chinese restaurant to us. We found their menu online and placed an order. Everything went okay. But after we got the food, the first thing we noticed was the portions; I ordered chicken on a stick, and BOY was it small, tiny pieces on a stick. The fried rice that came with it wasn't a whole lot. My wife on the other hand got Sweet N Sour chicken and her portion was far more than mine. We both ordered the dinner combination consisting of the entree with fried rice and an eggroll. So naturally, we expected at the very least to have the same amount of rice. Not even close. Either way, I decided to at least try to enjoy the food. The chicken looked like they took a blowtorch to it. It was beyond burnt to a crisp. The rice was okay. It tasted like normal rice, but again a small quantity compared to my wife's. Then the eggroll...Eck. It tasted like they had just put it through water. In other words, it had a disgusting aftertaste. Honestly made me want to bleach my mouth. I took one bite and that was it. My wife noticed and didn't bother having hers. Definitley not worth the money, and won't be going back.

Was craving some shrimp fried rice on the to Cleveland. This place is nestled in a strip mall and seemed clean enough to take a chance. Overall, prices were very cheap for shrimp fried rice with a quart being about $7. I guess that cheapness reflects the taste. Pretty flavorless overall and very few shrimp to enjoy

This was our favorite go-to for years but quality has changed! We went tonight after they were closed for a while for "remodeling." I'm guessing it is new owners. The fried rice only has bean shootouts in it and no longer egg, peas, or carrots. The egg rolls used to be a decent size with meat inside but tonight we received very tiny egg rolls with a small amount of cabbage inside. The General Tso had a good flavor but the meat was so tough none of us could chew it! I'm very disappointed as it was great every time previously.

This place has been on the decline for the past few years. There are only three people I have seen working there over the past five years. An older couple - the gentleman is usually cooking, the older lady that does counter and prep stuff, and another younger gentleman, although I haven't seen him in awhile. All three of them have attitudes. Never smile. The food is becoming tasteless, and cheap in it's presentation. It just doesn't have the pizazz it used to. I ordered 2 quarts of chicken with rice soup a few days ago. The container was mostly full of rice, but there may have been just 5 pieces of quarter sized chicken with it, along with a couple pieces of green onion. The broth was pretty much tasteless. I've noticed that the breaded chicken they use for items like General Tso's Chicken sits out on the counter and not in refrigeration, along with the egg rolls. This place is just 2 minutes or less from where I live. I'm finding another place.
