Calico Jack Coffee Roastery

My mom and I stopped by this refurbished home coffee shop. I got a matcha latte with vanilla and a cavs cake pop. My mom got the gingerbread latte. Both were really good but pricey! It was $24 for a cake pop and 2 drinks. The interior was cute, warm, and inviting. I feel like there were some things that could be improved: a place to hang your coat, hooks under the table would be an added bonus to hang your coat or purse. There is one room with separate seating with one table and bench but is very confined. Wished there was better seating options and seats with backs. It does feel very tight to sit inside and parking is a bit tricky but overall I did enjoy my time here. I would come back but not necessarily go out of my way to come back.

This was such a fun place in a small town close to Cleveland. I was visiting and drove by on a Sunday morning. It's in a renovated, old house. My only complaint is the area for customers to order and wait got very crowded but not do much that I'd want that to deter you from stopping by. Even with the large crowd, I did not have to wait that long. The iced mocha I got was very good. They didn't have much to offer sugar free unless I missed it but they were very accommodating in helping me find a way to get less sweet mocha coffee. It tasted very good and I was able to at least get rid of some of the sugar. They did have a great selection of different types of milk/alternative milks. I also got one of their specialty bagels. It had sunflower butter, bananas, honey, and bacon on it. You could get it whole or just a half. I got 1 whole and a half for 3 of us to share. This isn't something I'd usually get because I try to watch my calories and carbs but I have to say my splurge was worth it. Yum! And half was just enough! I also noticed they had a very nice ramp to get up to their door. Very helpful for those who may need a little extra help. Not a ton of parking but seemed to be just enough. And because they are on a corner and have more than one entrance, getting in and out turned out to be easy! When I visit my friends again, I hope to stop back by!

Finally a real coffee shop in Mentor!!! We were excited to check out a new coffee shop and were hoping it would be better than what was in its place before and we were very surprised! We got lattes that were actually flavored and steamed correctly.The place is very nice, luckily the previous owners remodeled it and they kept the same style which was a very good idea. They are even extending the deck outside for more seating which is a genius move! They have a quiet conference room in the back as well for meetings or work.We spoke to Karissa and the owner Austin and they were so nice! I was impressed at their knowledge of the craft coffee industry and they are not a fast food sugar shack coffee shop like Starbucks, Dunkin or even the new Human Bean. What I'm most excited about is the coffee roasting classes Austin is planning to do!For years we have been wanting a true craft coffee shop in Mentor and finally it's here so we don't have to drive like 30 minutes away for quality coffee! Looking forward to the coffee community Calico Jack brings to Mentor and finally grow my hobby and love of coffee. If you're in town and want quality coffee with very friendly service then this is the place for you!

I'm not sure how to rate. I want to be nice. The wait staff was so nice. I'll come back to give it another try. Interior there is not much place to congregate. Outside is roomy yet only usable in specific seasons. Coffee a bit pricey and wasn't in the "wow factor" for me.

The place is really cute. I got the caramel cove latte iced.... It was a tasty drink however I do wish it had more of a caramel or apple butter flavor. If I live near, I will definitely try them again

Nice little coffee spot in mentor. Service and ambiance of the coffee shop were great. I tried the strawberry shortcake latte and requested it a little less sweet (don't love overly sweet lattes) - it was perfection. Will come back next time I am in Cleveland!

Ok they are nice people. Place feels cramped. Chai was nothing special. They need to add more food options.

Nice place to get a cup of coffee! Mentor has few (any?) coffee shops outside of Starbucks and Dunkin, so having a place to invite a friend for a local coffee shop experience is great for the city.I ordered a simple pour-over, house blend, which was $5. I asked for heavy cream, which was an additional $1. I know prices have gone up, but $6 for a cup of regular coffee (12 oz) is a bit steep. I would come back perhaps for a special occasion, but the pricing would keep me from being a regular here.

Calico Jack has delicious coffee and friendly staff! It is very nice inside - cute decor and clean. The front porch is a relaxing spot to enjoy your drink as you watch the busy activity on Route 20. I would recommend!

Tastes like coffee i could have made at home. Unimpressed. The people were nice but it lacked what a true coffee shop should have.
