They delivered a wedding cake that was in tatters, did not reach out to offer an apology. Foil wrapped bases with an inch peaking out between each layer bakers typically remove those during set up. Gaps in the trim, and it was lopsided. Joe claims he's been doing cakes for 40 years...well all that experience must have been left back home, because it was not reflected in our cake. Normandy catering is doing a special where they have partnered with this bakery to provide your wedding cake free if charge. They should be more careful with whom they attach their name to. Normandy was great. This bakery was awful.

My wife and I got a wonderful 10" cassata cake for our wedding from Maria, and it was delicious and looked good too. Maria provided comprehensive samples for us before selecting our cake flavor, and we had trouble picking a favorite because they were all so tasty. It was very easy to work with Maria to figure out specifications for the cake itself. We provided three pictures of cakes we had in mind, and she gave good feedback of what she was capable of. The cake looked very good, if the colors were slightly different from what we were going for; that's a small critique, though. We had the cake delivered for a small extra fee, and it was at our venue and displayed beautifully with no stress for us. Overall, we got a good cake for good value.

Unsanitary cake deliveryThree cake tiers were placed separately on the floor of a dirty van, with no cake box or foam mat to prevent them from sliding. The base was placed on the shaggy brown carpet of the van's floor, and each tier had slid off onto the carpet. The driver used his bare hands to push them back onto the base. The driver found a low cart at the venue to move the cake. He put the base and the top tier of the cake onto the unsanitized cart with bare hands, there was not enough room for the middle tier, so he put the cake together there at the loading dock on the cart. Then he walked the cake though the very dusty & dirty loading dock / garbage area, with NO cake box or cover. I asked him if this is how he normally delivers cakes. He said, "Yes, I've been doing this for 40 years. Haven't you watched cake deliveries on TV?"I order a lot of items, and I have never received something delivered without a box or some type of protection. No bride wants her wedding cake to be put together outside on a loading dock cart! Driver should have washed his hands before layering cake.

Narrowly avoided a cake-tastrophe for my wedding. Maria, the baker, wouldn't let me do a cake tasting until a month and a half before my wedding, and when we finally did it, we were very unpleasantly shocked. The cake samples were so dry that and tasteless that I was sure she must've let them sit in a display case for a week or else baked with sawdust instead of flour. Even my 11 year old cake fiend wouldn't eat it! The icing was sickly sweet and almost chemical-tasting. The "different cake flavors" were just different icing combinations with the same two cake batters (Chocolate and yellow cake). We called and asked if this is how dried out we should expect our wedding cake to be or if this was just samples gone wrong. Maria explained that, "that's just how my cakes all are, because wedding cakes need to be super dry to hold their shape." I'm guessing poor Maria has never been to a wedding, because never has the cake been even remotely dry at any of the weddings that I've gone to.Additionally, she then informed me that she couldn't accommodate my cake design because it would take at least a couple of hours to decorate, even though she had already exuberantly accepted my design plan when we first talked and showed her a photo of the cake that we were hoping to replicate. She didn't offer to do the design if I paid more, she just flat-out refused, and said instead she could do a very small percent of the design, which for most cakes (and especially the one that I chose) would look absolutely ridiculous.I was supposed to get a "free" wedding cake from here as a promotion when I booked my venue, and as upsetting as it was to pass up a free cake and to look for a baker at the very last minute, it was definitely 10000000000% necessary. I'm a budget bride and I wouldn't even go with this bakery for free so, PLEASE, if you are a future bride reading this long ranting review right now, do yourself a favor and give this place a hard pass or I PROMISE you will regret it.

Maybe for a 1 year olds smash cake, but definitely not a wedding. They delivered a cake that was falling apart, the trim (which Maria made a big deal about me getting her at least 2 yards to work with) did not go completely around the cake. There was finger sized gap. It was lopsided, and they did not remove the foil wrapped transport bases from the cake. Meaning my wedding cake was sitting on a foil wrapped based. My top tier of my 3 tier cake was also sitting in a foil wrapped base. The kicker was the people who were there setting things up asked what the hell was going on. Joe, the setup person, literally ignored them, set it up and left. No apology, no explanation. Just ignored both Ariel staff, and my setup crew. I called Maria. She sent me to voicemail. Text and said she couldn't talk. I text my issues...she said call her tomorrow. No expression of shock. No apology. This cake was an embarrassment. It looked like a Pinterest fail. There are really not enough words to express how awful this cake was. I had it removed and pics that I plan to add to this review, told my photographer to delete all evidence that there even was a cake. Do not, under any circumstance use these people for anything others a kids Birthday party...and even then. Use caution.
