Cake Royale

I ordered my cake from here for my baby shower and I was extremely impressed. It was the best cake I've ever had in my life. It was chocolate covered strawberries and had candy on top of it. It was amazing! The strawberries were super fresh and the icing was perfect! Everyone at the shower kept commenting on how delicious the cake was and asking where we got it from!

The desserts here are mediocre at best. The cheesecake is bland, the monk is decent but thats mostly due to the chocolate, not the actual dessert, her piping technique is awful and the cakes are dry. They really try hard to make it look and taste like a fancy specialty cake shop, but honestly, I've had better from grocery stores. Speaking of....the owner purchases her macroons from Sams Club. She shows up early in the morning and does the order pickup without shopping, I think that way she is in and out fast with less people to see her. So save yourself from her markup/false advertisement and just order the same ones online and deliver to your house.

Just picked up custom birthday cake hubby had made for son's 21st bday today's. Looks amazing as if made of leather and even has "stitching " like a volleyball would. This is like 3rd cake we had made by them. Chocolate is the best flavor though they butter cream just taste like butter. Haven't tasted this one yet but will update after we do!!!

Tried the famous monk cake, absolutely amazing, if you are a chocolate lover, you will love it. Pistachio cake looks wonderful, will try next time !

3 for location, otherwise its spot on for the Casatta cake, see my daughter loves Cassata but one makes it how she likes it, with real strawberries and the such. If it wasnt for location you would definitely be a 4. Not many get 5, im a tough customer. I worked a lot in the industry, that's why im so tough when criticizing my choices of sustenance. So, A1 for making my daughter happy for her birthday every year now for the past 3 or so years.

Cake Royale has had a stand in the West Side Market for over 10 years. Late last year they opened a beautiful double store front in Old Brooklyn at 4276 Pearl Road. Their fabulous French pastries and cakes are now available Tuesday through Saturday from 7am to 6 pm. The individual tortes are available later in the week but the cakes are sold everyday at $5 for a large slice. Lemon custard and German chocolate, strawberry pistachio and pineapple mousse cake. It's really hard to have ONE favorite they are all delicious and made with butter, whipping cream and fresh fruit. You can even have a coffee and a pastry in their "living room" and admire the wall murals of the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe created by Danilo Zammattio from Ohio City. C'est magnifique!

Cake royale gave me the royale treatment for I don't care. Their cakes are great. It would be great if I could say the same about their customer service tho. They could seriously care less about any problems you have. So I hope you don't have a problem b/c they won't return your call(s) nor voicemail. Yes they are nice in person but God forbid you have a problem that needs to be fixed. I went to both the store & the booth inside of the west side market before closing BOTH was closed. Looking forward to spending my hard earned money here & was going to treat myself to their delicious desserts but I happened to Waste my time & gas. But anyways on a better note Veras bakery is better. I've never wasted my time or gas traveling there yet. & to think cake royale customer service was great. I sure was fooled .. all the money I have spent there buying stuff nearly everyday when I was depressed NEVER AGAIN. Cake Royale WILL give you the royale treatment for I don't care. Left multiple calls & a voicemail. Not one was returned. So like I said the cakes is good but just better hope you don't have a problem/compliant b/c then you'll be feeling the same way I feel ... PISSED AF. Especially when you're traveling 30+ out of your way to spend money at a establishment that got the nerve to be closed. If I can give 0 stars I would most definitely would for wasting my time & gas. But anyways lastly & most importantly SHOUT OUT TO VERA'S BAKERY AGAIN ! & don't reply to me either cuz I don't want to be entertained by y'all acting like y'all care b/c I have made the compliment public under a review. I was respectful enough to personally call first but y'all don't care so I don't care so I guess everyone who want to read reviews will know my problem too.

I had a cake designed for my boyfriend's surprise 60th birthday. He is a drummer in a band and Cake Royale nailed it. They paid very close attention to everything I told them. I had over 80 guests at the party and everyone raved about the cake and wanted to know where I got it. Thank you Cake Royale for making my party a success.Cynthia Warner

I visited this bakery at West Market in Cleveland 9/2017 upon a recommendation. They absolutely have the most wonderful chocolate cake named forbidden. It melts in your mouth like a bonbon. I ate half for dessert at night and the other half for breakfast. Went back for more and they were sold out that day but suggested I come back the next day because it is their best seller and they try to always have it available. ENJOY! The only bad thing it is not located in the town where I live.
