Be advised. This IS NOT A RESTAURANT. It is an antique shop only. We stopped by today. The owner told us that he has t sold food in years. I should have noticed that the last review was over 5yrs ago.

So first of all I always look this place up on yelp and look at the reviews over and over but get confused because I always find two similar names, anyhow my sister called me and SAID lets go get some breakfast, of course I got excited because she must of read my mind . I was having a very strong craving for some nice buttery pancakes at a nice unique place and her only request was good coffee, so I said today is the DAY to see if this place really existed . Well I must say that I now see why people record their self all day doing everyday living activities and experiences, because when I tell you that this was the day we could of went viral and possibly hit the jackpot with starting our on you tube with this one opening act because it felt like a good ass skit....but I'm not that type I may become that type though because some people, places situations behaviors and mannerisms are unreal ok ok ...let me get to the story sorry for the long start off. .... We pulled up to CAFE MIAMI the one on state rd. Parking lot and street was empty, so I called , a man answered the phone and said hello, I said hello Sir is this Cafe Miami? He said yeah and who wants to know . I told him that I did , and then I asked him what time did the place open ? He said at 11 which was in about 20 minutes, I said ok that's good because me and my sister are hungry and we are excited about trying this place out , then he went on to say ;look lady I don't know what you looking for or why you are calling around asking all these questions but what is it that you want?? I said well I really want some pancakes. He said well you heard what I said we don't open until 11,we left went around the corner to the other location Sabor Cafe Miami, unique tropical theme in the windows , I said ok this must be the real place. Me and my sister waited in the parking lot a young lady walked by asking us something but we couldn't understand because she only spoke Spanish . Sheesh sn:(I have to learn Spanish) called the number back OMG why did I do that?? The man was so crazy I thought he was joking and that everything he was saying was just apart of his sense of humor, so I told him that I really want to meet him yes some I'm goofy af and play too much because why . BTW Sabor Cafe Miami only offer breakfast on sat and sun and they don't open until 12 during the weekdays and they are located on Broadview rd.....Ok so me and my sister decided to drive back to Miami Cafe the ANTIQUE STORE the one on State Rd . I know I know I was really working , trying to get my sister some Cuban coffee, and she has. A lot of patience, more than me because this was all just comically stupid, just don't judge us ok so We pulled up and parked walked to the front, seen a man outside with the same voice as the guy who was on the phone . So I said hi how are you sir ,I just called you a few minutes ago and I think you are so hilarious ,are you open yet? I don't know why I thought we were all just gonna laugh it off and be welcomed in , boy was I wrong He said yeah I'm open but y'all young ladies need to go find something to do and get away from my private property or I will call the police , Me and my sister looked at each other and couldn't believe that the jokeron the phone who looked about 75-80 yo was really bat shit crazy not even 1oz of sense of humor could be found. He chased us to our car literally started taking pictures and really called the police FORREAL LIKE IN Real LIFE, before we skirted off like we just robbed a bank because who knows what was next, I yelped out the window and told the fool to go get some help because we just wanted some coffee, pancakes, sunshine and joy. Clearly that man suffers from something like dementia, post traumatic stress disorder or just simply certified, and I just needed to tell somebody, sorry it was so long but somebody need to go help they daddy or grandpa like seriously and please take down that this is a cafe to cut the confusion because I'm sure folks get confused everyday about this and maybe that's why he was frustrated I hope this review help somebody PLEASE

We came after church. They were open on Easter. Pretty amazing. The four of us ordered the American Breakfast. I got my eggs scrambled. The others got sunny side up and 2 scrambled. With this came choice of meat (me sausage patties) potatoes and toast. All for $2.50!!! Coffee a buck! Free bottled water if you chose as well. It was good I should mention. So the four of us spent a total of $12 plus tip. Unbelievable.I need to mention the service was good and the decor is something to see. Paintings, sculptures, artifacts and memorabilia from all over the country and the world. The menu also has omelettes, waffles pancakes and other selections. The owner who does the cooking as well came over to greet us and asked how we enjoyed our breakfast. You can't beat this place! The only downer is they accept cash only. But with these prices who cares!

I am so glad I chose to go to Cafe Miami versus another place on my last day in Cleveland. The parking sits to the left of the building. Walking to Cafe Miami was interesting since I'm not a local and it seemed to be a bit odd of a location for a breakfast joint. Opening a screen door to get access to the main door reminded me of the house I grew up in. The interior was...cozy although a bit cluttered. I ordered 3 eggs with gyros & an order of french toast. This was the best breakfast I've tasted. The owner came out and asked me how did I like my food. My look told him he did a superb job. I just wish he was in Dallas.I flew from OH to Dallas with my leftovers. Even after sitting a few hours, it was still good. Highly recommend Cafe Miami!!!

Strange and unique decorLarry didn't stop complaining about "Miami Cafe" who stole his name and his pictures the whole time we were there. We were talked into the homemade sausage biscuits and gravy and it was eh at best. Coffee was goodOne and done - won't be back

Jennifer Lopez was a psychiatrist who could enter people's dark recesses of the mind in the terrible film "The Cell." Customers at Cafe Miami can achieve the same feeling of gaining access to one's psyche upon entering the threshold of Cafe Miami. The decor is a visual assault reminiscent of psychedelic mushroom trips during college years at Kent State. The food is a mashup of traditional breakfast and Carribean. The service and food were both excellent. The Cuban sandwich was a better value than pork torta although both were satisfying. The arroz con pollo was a solid dish as well. I am sad I did not get to meet the famous Larry who was previous owner. He sounded "cool as a polar bear in a freezer" as Gucci Mane says.

News re Cafe Miami --- http://www.clevescene.com/scene-and-heard/archives/2016/02/25/current-operator-of-cafe-miami-to-leave-and-open-sabor-miami-in-new-locationCurrent Operator of Café Miami to Leave and Open Sabor Miami in New LocationPosted By Douglas Trattner on Thu, Feb 25, 2016 at 10:51 am This Sunday, February 28, will be the last day that Mariela Paz functions as operator of Café Miami (4517 State Rd., 216-661-3739) in Old Brooklyn. Since resurrecting the shuttered business, one that previous owner Larry Fields operated for close to 20 years, Paz has been adding her own Latin-inspired touches and dishes, a considerable departure from the shop's modest American-diner roots. But while the response by customers and neighbors has been positive, the changes have not been sitting well with Fields, who says that Paz was merely a temporary steward of the business while he recovered from a stroke. The changes, he said, "confused diners."That rocky relationship ends this week, with Paz heading to a new address just a mile away. There, she will open Sabor Miami, a Latin-themed eatery that expands on what she was dabbling in over at Café Miami. Diners can look forward to creamy caramel-scented cafes con leche, Mexican-style huevos rancheros with crispy tostones, flaky fried empanadas filled with chopped ham and cheese, and pressed Cubano sandwiches filled with roast pork, thin-sliced ham, Swiss cheese, pickles and mustard. Expanded hours and a fresh interior also will be part of the package. The new location, 4848 Broadview Rd., most recently belonged to the Salvadoran-run Katarina Pupuseria. That business relocated last year to the former Mexican Village building at 1409 Brookpark Rd.No word yet on the future of Café Miami.

I suggest taking down photos of the food from the chef who owns Sabor Miami. Clearly the main photo for Cafe Miami is the "tropi chop" and most of the food photographed is hers. Her true Miami (Cuban/Latin Fusion) Fare is not offered at Cafe Miami. not really accurate

Went on a Sunday late morning 7/19 because it was too hot to cook at home and we needed to refuel after a long day a festival the day before. I don't recall much of the menu from the prior owner, but I knew I wanted to come back after reading about the Cuban items. My BF and I split fried sweet plantains with black beans and a generous helping of sour cream. He had the Cubano sandwich (his only critique was that he wishes he had the sauces from Barroco!) and I had the Cuban breakfast with a huge hunk of Cuban bread. I would have finished every last bite of it if it wasn't for the coco latte I ordered. Iced latte made with coconut milk and topped with whipped cream and shredded coconut--a meal in itself. Leftovers saved me from cooking that night, too! Will totally go back.Super friendly waitress and owner-the only thing preventing me from giving it five stars was the wait for the check and change. 4.5***

Crazy rude. Whoever opened the door shoo'd me away within seconds. They should change their name and description that says they are a coffee shop.
