"I love this cozy place.Local wine bar and wine store. The owner Suzanne always meets the clients with the smile. Although it's a wine bar, they serve excellent food, organize events and often have live music.I organized a surprise birthday party for my boyfriend,. Total, we had 30 people, and the staff made a good job. They helped me to decorate place, made sure that all guests were satisfied and Suzanne offered a reasonable price for the party. The place has a huge selection of wines. My fav are caymus and Boisch family- try them! From food, I always order sliders without bun and extra pickles- yummmyyyy!! Also, I like summer salad- refreshing. If you are around or looking for the new place to try- don't hesitate and stop here. Romantic dinner, girls party or casual hangout- this is the place to go."
"I judge wine & spirit stores by two things: (1) Does the owner have an extensive working knowledge of wine, spirits, and everything related, (2) Do they carry a broad, high-quality selection of products? Shaker Wines & Spirits wins on both accounts, particularly #1. Anything you need, anything you want to know about wine, beer or any other beverage, Gene has you covered. He's a true expert. You can safely ignore the 1-star rating left by a disgruntled "Cleveland" Whiskey seeker. I agree with the owner, this Cleveland Whiskey things is an annoying "me-too" trend. I hope it passes soon."
"Large, commercial establishment. This was the second winery we visited here in Madison. I ordered the Rose' of Pinot Grigio because I enjoy Rose' in warm temperatures. It claims a "salmon color" but I would call it more "light pumpkin". The color threw me. It was not unpleasant on the nose, but not as floral or sweet as I am used to, at first smell. The bouquet has a bit of buttery hint to it, but without any floral or sweetness that I expected. The lingering finish was unpleasant. Pass on this one. After another local winery, I'd probably skip this one. Had it been my first dip in the water of Ohio wine, I would have said no thank you."
"This was a nice stop while winery hopping. It didn't have the ambience of the other wineries but the wine itself was amongst the best we had in the region. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful too."
"Loved the Cherry Road Winery! The have wines that are named for areas in Massillon! The Rezzie, Hail Mary(St Mary's beautiful church) Three Bridges (named for Tremont,Lincoln & Cherry Bridges) and OH(Only Happy) a red wine (my favorite ) and it's counterpart IO (In Ohio) a white wine. We went there to see a band, Midnight Jones, and we had the best time!! Would highly recommend!"
"Unexpectedly lovely. This winery is in the basement of a local home near Strongsville. it is literally in a residential area. The outdoor decor is very nice, and neat as a pin. They have lights and signage to let you know you're at the right house. They even have a small vineyard growing in the backyard.. Upon entering the door to the winery, you will find yourself in a stairwell with stairs going down to the basement. Once you're in the basement you will immediately forget you are in a basement. It is quite a spacious and comfortable area with lots of tables and couches, a fireplace, a bar, and a bathroom. There's even a section where they make the wine in steel barrels. It's very cozy, charming, friendly and clean. The host/owners are extremely friendly. It seems that the owner's family is from Northern Italy and we enjoyed talking to them. The Wine itself far exceeded my expectations. We tasted three reds plus the Chardonnay, and we enjoyed all of it. The blueprint red blend was my favorite followed by the Chardonnay. I'm a bit of a Wine snob and I typically don't like Ohio wine. However, I was pleasantly surprised...okay...if we're being honest...actually shocked...that all the wine we tasted was excellent. I will definitely be telling all my friends and family about La Famiglia winery!"
"This place just opened in July 2020. We found this place a few weeks before we were going to head to Gervasi Vineyards. We stopped and just some tips it's out there, but what winery isn't.When you arrive, they have a sign that says open. You don't know what is opened. A sign out front would be helpful. However we recognized the barn from the Facebook account. The owners were very nice and easy to talk to. I've learned that the owner started making wine in 2003. He got lots of experience before going big. He gets his grapes from Ohio and New York. He is growing estate grapes as you enter the facility. They have two dry wines. Shiraz, which I didn't taste any oak. Tasted like it was made in a steel fermentation unit. The Sauvignon Blanc is dry and tasted good. Butt Head - Elderberry is a semi sweet and our favorite. We tried some of the cider as well. The ciders were fine. But the Niagara and Elderberry was my favorites.Masks required, no food required but welcome to bring in. Great place, we will be back annually."
"We went for a tasting with a group of friends to celebrate a special occasion. It was very cool. Place was packed with folks you would swear you have known all your life. A great selection of choices to taste. All reasonable priced. As your getting a pour the knowable folks provide a little interesting background on your selection making coming back for another a must. Spend a few hours on a Saturday afternoon. You will have a good time."
"A couple friends and I came here for a special wine and food pairing class ($27 including a processing fee) and I must say, we all really enjoyed the class! It was held in a room off to the side and each group had their own table set up and ready to go with several wine and food samples. Our instructor was very personable and did a pretty decent job of going through her slide show, explaining the different kinds of wine, and answering my random questions. As she talked we would try a wine and food pairing and discuss if the flavors brought out the best in each other (like pinot noir with a wild mushroom ravioli, or riesling with a grilled shrimp on a sliced cucumber with peach habanero preserves). At the end we got to do some experimenting and deciding on our own what cheeses would taste best with what wines. I didn't really care for most of the wine, but to be fair I prefer sweet reds or Moscato. I was also a bit disappointed that they get their grapes from California, but I was told this was due to timing (and familiarity with a business out there) and they might look around for grapes closer to home for the next batches. I did like the layout of this place, it's got that laid-back/stylish/industrial vibe to it and I could definitely see myself coming back to enjoy a wine slushie. Right down the road is a public parking lot and garage so a ton of parking you just have to have some quarters and walk 2 minutes. If they offer anymore classes (check their facebook page) I would highly recommend checking one out!"
"Literally off the beaten path but so worth it. The owner was there and was a sweet gentleman. He let me try all of their wines, including their food. "mistake wine. My favorites were the blackberry and Peary. The building is an old IGA grocery store, and the setting is like an old antique café. Very quaint and the people were very nice. Not too far away from all of the other attractions in Sugarcreek. Will definitely be back."
"Of the six wineries we visited, this one seemed to have the most fun vibe. There was live music, and a lot of folks enjoying the wine and having a good time. Things shut down pretty early IIRC. 6:30 on a Saturday was when the music stopped, and people cleared out pretty quickly after that. Pro tip: Laurentia is close by and open one hour later."
"I'll be honest, I had reservations about driving to Ravenna for a winery, but I am happy to report that we had such a good time here! I 100% recommend you check this place out! Downtown Ravenna is actually pretty quaint. I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon right when they opened at 2pm. We were told they open late because they stay open longer. We were the first ones inside and picked a table by the bar. We brought our own little meat and cheese plate since they don't serve food here. My friend and I tried their flight which included six wines or beers and two slushies! Such a good deal! The pumpkin beer and the apple pie slushie were probably my favorites, but they had several tasty wines as well. Service was great.I did hear that there is some story about a ghost dog or something, I will have to ask them about this next time I visit."

The owner and employees are all knowledgeable and helpful. This is definitely a good place to stop if you are looking for advice on liquor and wine. The prices are in line with what I see everywhere else and they have a good selection of liquor. This place is not as well stocked as Warehouse Beverage on wine, but they still sell quality merchandise and have never recommended me anything that I didn't like. In other words, there isn't a whole lot to choose from, but what is available is all either pretty good or spectacular. The beer section is thin, but who cares, it just isn't that type of store.

Oh my soooo busy. Good to see. My favorite here is the bourbon infused Chardonnay. I am gluten free so the Halloween trail piece was suspect for me but the dry wine that accompanied it was excellent.

Tastings: .50 cents eachWe tried:The jewell Cabernet 3/5Taffy kiss desert wine 5/5Three bridges blend 4/5The rezzie Riesling 4/5280ZIN white Zinfandel 4/5The people here were really friendly. We sat at the bar for our tastings and the woman sat and chatted with us the whole time. My mom and I both ended up buying a bottle of the taffy kiss desert wine. They only had a few left and opened one up so we could try it. The space inside is cozy and they have an outdoor yard area that I believe also had a fire pit. We really enjoyed tasting their wines and hanging out here!

Great service. This is a great place if you want to try something different. Great selection of beer on tap and if you can't find it on tap I am sure they have a bottle to buy. Great little place close to home. Would definitely return to try something else on the menu. Hot pepper pizza was delicious. We sat at the bar and they were pretty busy but the service was great. Give this place a try if you're in the area.

"The Urban Vitner is a Hidden Gem in Willoughby Ohio. I LUVED LUVED LUVEd it, and I know what I'm talking about, both selling wines and holding a WSETIII. Read my blog about the wines at http://winesagereview.com/hidden-gem-in-willoughby-oh/(and, if I can ask, follow my page for future blogs)."
"Fantastic little winery .. beautiful setting .. live music .. if in the area a must see. Caters more to the sweet wine drinker than the dry . Food trucks and pies on a stick ."
"I struggled with this rating. People were nice, wine was just ok. Chose the moscato but it had a funky after taste to me. Just couldn't get past it. I did have a taste of the watermelon wine. It does indeed taste like a jolly rancher. I thought that wine was delicious. But I am a sweet wine kinda person. Food smelled good and people were ordering it. We just weren't interested at the time. Next time I'll try food. Place was steady crowded and people were having a good time. So something needs to be said about that. I'd go back and try other wine and food. It's worth a 2nd chance. I just won't get the moscato."
"We have come here for Christmas Eve dinner for the last 4 years. And every time we have received very good service. The staff is top notch. The menu this year looks like it has been pared down a bit. Which is fine. Sometimes too many choices is confusing. This year we got 2 prime sandwiches and chicken piccata. Sandwiches were good. The bread could be a bit heartier. It falls apart in the au jus easily. The piccata was good as well. We got side salads in stead of fries and the salads were very good. I liked the dressing. Cost wise you're going to pay $15 and up for any thing. The ambiance is dark. I could hardly see the menu. I know we want mood lighting but it's flipping dark. Plus we were seated in a booth by the windows and cold air from the outside was coming in. Brrrrr. Lots of people enjoying themselves. Our server was a bit slow this year. Did't ask us if she could get more drinks or anything. Lots of people but we made reservations. And overall it is a good experience. Just a few nit picks."
"My group of 5 came in on a Saturday afternoon to choose and then make a wine. Sally was our fabulous guide for the hour and a half appointment. We started out at the wine bar sampling the different kinds (tried 15) of wine so as a group we could agree on which one to make. Once we decided we headed into the wine making room across the hall. Sally was great at describing the science and process behind wine making without being over our heads or dumbing it down too much. Now we get to sit back and let it ferment and do it business. We have an appointment to go back in 9 weeks to label (we get to make our own), bottle and cork our wine. Our batch will make 30 750ml bottles of wine. For anyone who has made beer before, this is way easier."
"I have gone here twice. Both times I found it to have a very welcoming environment. First time I was with a friend and last night I went in by myself. They care that you are comfortable, your drink is good, and your food is right. The first time I went we tried almost everything. As it was the first time having Mead I had nothing to compare it with but found their Original Mead very tasteful. I have since went to other places, but prefer Woodland's!Hungry or just want a snack? Their menu is filled with a variety of options. Everything is made with love and come out looking presentable."
"This place is so cute and lively. The staff is friendly and the wines are to die for. Coal Miners Daughter was our favorite."
"I really enjoyed this spot! When we came in, we went to order and the woman was super friendly and helpful in finding us a wine we'd like. She gave us one we asked to try and then had us blind taste a couple others based off what we said we liked which was fun! Once settled on a wine, we headed outside. It had finally warmed up just enough to get away with sitting outside. Their patio area is really cute. I loved the little wooden faces on the trees! As we were leaving, they were setting up for some music inside. I would definitely come back here and hang out for longer!"
"Such a quaint place with the most beautiful views of their vineyard. We sat down on their Adirondack chairs with a cheeseboard and a glass of wine on a gray drizzly rain day and it was perfect. We had our little dog on a leash with us and they were ok about it."
"Very pretty winery, wine was decent, food was appetizing, overall a great place to hang with friends and enjoy an afternoon of fun and relaxation. I especially enjoyed the sparkling rose, it's very refreshing on a warm afternoon. The meat and cheese platter was plenty. I look forward to returning and trying more of the food on the menu. The wine flights are reasonably priced."
"The Old Mill is still charming as ever. I went and had dinner with friends on a Tuesday night. We were seated immediately. But...the service was slow as molasses. Granted, they were short staffed and our wonderful waitress was busting her butt to keep up. It took about an hour from the time we sat down until our food arrived. So, don't go here if you're looking for a quick in and out bite. I had to knock off a star for that. The food was great, cooked to our liking and reasonably priced. The outdoor grill smelled amazing the entire time! We didn't have any wine, just beer, lol! (I've had the wines before and they're nice. They have a lot of sweet Ohio varietals.) And they have a craft brewed root beer which was tasty!Again, I recommend this winery if you've got time to kill and you're not too hangry!"
"So glad that Gervasi got themselves a proper wine tasting room! We went on a rainy Sunday, late afternoon and it was just us and one other couple. Got to spend a lot of time talking about the wines and the property. It has such a cool atmosphere. Would be a really neat place to hold a private event."
"This was my second visit and everything was even more delicious than before. We went for brunch. The candied bacon was the perfect texture, very thick and not flimsy (I requested it more well done). The creme brule French toast was heavenly. The breakfast potatoes were well seasoned and crisp. The carbanera gnocchi was tasty as well. All of the ingredients in the dish were great quality. Our server was down to earth and very attentive. Excellent service! We made reservations online the day before. The restaurant didn't open until 11a so all the patrons walked in at same time. The staff did well to accommodate and organize the mass."
"If you are longing for some authentic Italian cuisine, then you need to come here. The restaurant has a beautiful, classy interior that is very warm and welcoming. They have an extensive wine list that is NE Ohio focused along with a craft cocktail list. I had a Negroni Sbagliato. It was the perfect balance of bitter and sweet. Next came the arancino. Honestly, this was the best one that I have ever eaten. The flavors, the fry, and sauce were spot on. My husband enjoyed the spaghetti and then the chicken. Each item was better than the next one. I enjoyed the sea scallops with the pea puree. Pure heaven. The scallops were perfectly cooked. The prosciutto adds the right amount of saltiness, and then the pea puree is smooth, bright, and hits the right balance for this dish. It is well worth the drive. I can't wait to go back."
"This was our second time here and I totally believe in the sophomore slump. Beautiful Saturday. Semi busy but plenty of tables. We went to the bar. Now this is the perfect time to engage with your customers. See what they are drinking make recommendations; this bar tender kept her back to us 95% of the time we were here. We did two wine flights and the watermelon salad with chicken took over 40 minutes for her salad which was an entire container of mixed greens with some toppings. The cinnamon vinaigrette was amazing but the wines were Meh, combine it with the service the bowl of lettuce. We will come back but it will be a while"
"On our way home from a wonderful weekend exploring the wineries and breweries of western Ohio, we found ourselves at a charming winery that quickly became a highlight of our trip. Although they've been here for only a short while, they currently craft their wines at @lincolnwayvineyards --a place we love and have missed visiting.I absolutely loved the "Satisfaction" red wine. It's a dry, oaked wine with aromas of dark fruit, made from French-American hybrid DeChaunac grapes originating from New York, and it boasts a 13.1% ABV. Another standout was the "After Midnight," which reminds me of a saying my parents used when I wanted to extend my curfew in high school: "Nothing good happens after midnight." This wine is the exception. It's a semi-dry, floral aromatic wine, also originating from New York, on the sweeter side with a 2.5% residual sugar and a 12.3% ABV.Overall, the staff was awesome, the wine was excellent, and the space was inviting. Can't wait to revisit. Cheers!"
"What a nice addition to KI. Family owned winery, just started production. They have a wine tasting room, with outside seating. They produce four wines at present, three red and one white. The star is their cabernet franc, which they grow on site. Complementary nuts, dried apricots and chocolates with your tasting. They have a wine flight of all four wines or you can purchase a glass. Small gift shop with selection of shirts. Very friendly owners who are working hard to make this successful. Only open from Thursday-Saturday from 1-4 PM. Located east of the Seaway Marina. Worth a road trip from downtown KI!"
"I have patronized the Wine Room at the Galaxy in Wadsworth, Ohio for years. I have always had great experiences here and recently realized that I had yet to review it on Yelp. I stopped here on my way home from a seminar in Columbus at the end of October, 2017. After a 2.5 hour drive I was tired and hungry and frazzled and facing the toxic combination of construction/rush-hour traffic on my way north through Akron. Enter: The Galaxy! The Wine Bar at the Galaxy is worlds away from the Sports Bar (which is located just down the hallway.) The Sports Bar glorifies an expansive 2-tier-stadium-seating idea whereby patrons can absorb a multitude of flat-screen TVs (along with copious amounts of beer). The Wine Bar is mahogany wood, hushed conversations, dim lighting, and intimacy. The Wine Bar has an exclusive menu and wine list (though one can also order from the Sports Bar menu upon request). The wine choices are impressive and unique!Smooth Jazz is the music of choice in the Wine Bar. I ordered my favorite Burgess Merlot at one-half the price per glass (Happy Hour prices from 4 PM until 6 PM - yaaaaayyyy for me)! Melinda was working at the bar the evening I visited. She was knowledgeable about wine and spirits. During my visit "regulars" came into the Wine Bar to gossip with Melinda or to update her on their lives.I ordered a "specialty" hamburger from the "bar" menu and it was amazing!! I also ordered wedge potatoes (like steak fries). OMG! These were delicious! My requests were fulfilled and my dinner was served in a calm, quiet, relaxing environment.Love, love, love it here!"
"I haven't been to their winery.. But I was at a restaurant (Lock 15 Brewing) that offers their mead. I had one of their rotating mead flavors and it was amazing. It tasted like ice wine, so you know it was very sweet. I googled their website and decided to order all 5 bottles of the different flavors they offered. Shipping was easy and fast. Looking forward to trying these very soon. You can visit the meadery by appointment for a tasting, tour and to get varieties that they only sell from the meadery. They don't serve food at the present time. Email or call them at 440-590-6909 to arrange a time."
"I live in Sonoma/Napa area in California but I'm from PA and visiting my family for the holidays. This place was recommended to me and I'm glad it was. The wines have won several awards and they are excellent. The Flagship, a Bordeaux blend, was our favorite and we purchased some of that. They apparently have live music and other entertainment so we will definitely be back. The owners mentioned that some people grab food next door and come in there to get a bottle of good wine and eat. It's well worth the drive if you are in the area."
"Blueberry donuts. Blueberry fritters. Blueberry jam. Blueberry. Oh. Let's just say blueberry everything. They have a restaurant here too. I didn't have time for the restaurant. I thought the decor was great. The staff was very friendly. And the location wasn't bad at all. I'll for sure come back."
"Lovely place with a great selection of wines. Does have some apps and salads and pastas. Great atmosphere. Fantastic service!"
"I went here back in May to meet up with a friend I hadn't seen in years and this was such a pleasant surprise!I found this place just by searching black owned wine in Cleveland and this popped up!The day we went, there was some type of chocolate festival in the historic downtown area of Bedford so parking was a little tight but manageable. I was fortunate to find a parking spot on the street right in front of the wine boutique! And parking was free. Upon entry, I was immediately greeted by an employee. She ended up being the person who helped us throughout our wine tasting. Also, I was impressed by the elegant design inside the boutique. I knew was about to receive a great experience. We were able to taste 4 different wines at $20 each. We started with white to red. And was given crackers, chocolate and wine to help cleanse our pallet throughout the tasting. This was a great time and I have to go back whenever I'm in town again!"
