Mary R. "Good food, good drink selection, and a good location?! Small city is a great place to go. They have a ton of great Vietnamese food options. They also have really good sushi and have some specials during the off season. It's a tap house, so you should be able to find something you like to drink. They offer the tap beers in multiple sizes so you can kind of build your own flight. We love that it's in the heart of downtown Sandusky. The city is very walkable and there's a parking garage close by. The only downside is sometimes they get super busy, so you have to be patient with the service during those times."

Upon entering you can sit down to eat inside or get your food to go. I decided to sit down. The lady brought over water before even asking. They also have a great menu with pictures to help you decide what you want. I tried one of the noodle bowls. It wasn't really what I expected. The noodles were good but I thought it would have more flavor since the chicken was bland. I tried the chicken broth so it might be better to try the beef. They do have other items. It was a fun experience and worth a try."

Not a large place but it fit everyone and it has a bar with bar seats as well. Plenty of parking. Prices are pretty good. I ordered the beef pho. Just the basic. They brought over a fresh plate of cilantro, jalapeños, lime, and pea shoots. We also got the pork spring rolls. They were good. The pho was just OK. It wasn't very hot. I do like the temperature of any soup to be super hot. The steak was fine, I thought the rest the noddles be veggies were very skimpy. I could have used more. But they must feel it is a fair portion for the cost. I also got a Bahn mi sandwich and it was very small. It tasted ok. But the portion was small. It is literally a 4 bite sandwich. The service was good. Atmosphere was nice with soft music. And the time the food came out was good. I just thought it was skimpy. I wanted more. Our bill came to $61 with our dinners and I feel kinda ripped off. It was good just not enough."

The guy that took care of us was super nice and kept making sure everything was ok. We started with spring rolls. They are good but a little pricey for 2 small rolls. We also got the steamed pork buns(bao). I highly recommend these. I'll go back for those alone. We finally got to the pho. He brought over 2 large bowls and a plate of bean sprouts, lime, jalapeño and fresh basil. Of course he brought hoisin sauce and sriracha (my fave). I got the bowl with beef, meatball, tripe and tendon. I think the tripe and tendon needed to be more tender but that's just me. My husband had the seafood and he loved it. Definitely a good place and with a name like PhoKing, you've just gotta check it out. LoL."

We were told the order would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived about 15 minutes later, payed my bill and my food was ready. The dining room is very much no frills and the restaurant itself is located in a very small strip mall. Parking is located in back. Be very careful on the one way drive leading to parking. There are a couple a televisions to watch while you are eating. The staff is always friendly and helpful. There is an abundance of choices on the menu. We choose the MiBompoong, Pad Thai and Asian Basil Fried rice. The fried rice was a perfect spice level for me at medium. It added flavor without too much heat. The MiBompoong is loaded with vegetables and covered in a delicious sauce. The Pad Thai was very good as well."

Whether you dine in or order ahead online to pick up a to-go order, expect authentic Thai cuisine, large portions and friendly service. I LOVE their chicken ka prow, which is made with ground chicken (not easy to find around here), and they're really good about spice levels, abiding by all requests and never going spicier than my mom's extremely sensitive palate can handle. The prices are also affordable, especially when you consider their portion sizes and the fact that you're extremely likely to have leftovers. There are a few good Thai restaurants in the area, but if you've yet to try this one, it's absolutely worth adding to your repertoire. It's become my new go-to!"

The lettuce wraps and the grape leaf that was filled with meat and spices was very tasty. My entree was so salty. I asked about the sauce and was told it was a barbecue type sauce. When it arrived, the sauce was a salty gravy that I had to doctor up to make edible. The staff was mostly attentive but two people returned their dishes and asked to get a replacement. Our server never returned to take their replacement order so they just sat and watched us eat. I might try them again again but only if I am already downtown. Megan P. "Pho LV, where the interior might not win any design awards (think dingy chic), but the food? Oh honey, it's a culinary masterpiece that makes up for the lackluster surroundings tenfold! Seriously, if you're looking for ambiance, you might want to bring your own fairy lights. But once you taste the broth, you'll forget all about the decor.Let's talk about that broth. It's like a spicy hug in a bowl. Authentic, flavorful, and just the right amount of kick--it's the kind of broth that makes you want to dance in your seat. They've got a menu packed with options that'll make your taste buds do backflips: vermicelli, pork, chicken, and even a vegetarian chicken pho that's so good, you might just convert to plant-based eating (but no promises!).Now, here's where I go full-on fangirl: their chili garlic sauce is my all-time favorite thing in the universe. I swear it's made with love (and maybe a touch of magic). Drizzle that on anything, and you're in for a flavor explosion! And don't even get me started on the meatballs in the pho--out of sight, out of this world!Pro tip: always ask for extra noodles and pickled onions. Trust me, the more mint, bean sprouts, and jalapeños you can pile in there, the better. Add a splash of Sriracha, and you've got yourself a symphony in your mouth! And let's not forget about their house tea. I can't quite figure out if it's green tea or jasmine, but either way, it's the perfect refreshing complement to your meal. It's like a warm blanket for your insides, especially on a cold or rainy day.Best part? You won't experience sticker shock when the bill comes! Pho LV proves that deliciousness doesn't have to break the bank. So if you're in the mood for some soul-soothing, authentic pho, grab a friend (or two), and head on over. You won't regret it!"

Lynette C. "It was really easy to find this place. My friend and I were in an area and I've had this place bookmarked for a minute. We read a few reviews and decided to give it a try. We ordered a bunch of different items to try out. Fried won tons, very good 5/5, crab Rangoon 4/5, potstickers (I didn't try these) I got the Mongolian beef, it's good but beware it does have mushrooms in it and it wasn't spicy at all. In fact I didn't see any peppers at all. Decent flavor but too bland for me 3/5. I got the summer rolls with grilled pork, I would give them a 3/5 as they are filled mostly with rice noodles, next time I would try the ones with shrimp and pork. I also wanted to try banh mi as I haven't been able to get a decent sandwich since leaving California. Flavor wise it's a 3.5/5 the bun is almost like a hoagie roll and too thick for this type of sandwich. The daicon and carrots are usually marinated in a vinaigrette type sauce, these aren't. The pork is tasty tho. I just don't like the bread to filling ratio, in California the banh mi sandwiches are usually made with baguettes. Overall I would return and try other dishes and will definitely come to get the won tons. While it is a large restaurant, they have take out only. Next time I'm in the area I'll be stopping in."

Broth lacks depth and could use a little bit more flavor. My issue is with the banh mi sandwiches, paid extra for extra toppings which did not come on the sandwich and was pretty stale. Read that this was a comment occurance within other orders as well. Would not recommend the tofu banh mi as it is just fried tofu with no extra seasoning so it was super hard and bland."

I started with the pho, and after adding a touch of lime and hoisin sauce, I was so happy to be eating such a yummy dish. It's not too heavy and the noodles and meat were juicy and delicious. However, my favorite was the Banh mi. The pork was moist, the pickled radish was the perfect balance of sweet and tart, and the bread was SO good. I literally kept raving about the bread to my friends at the table. If I could buy a basket of just the bread, I would have. The place itself is just simple and clean. There seems to be good street parking. I heard about Pho Ever being talked about on a local Facebook group and immediately headed over to try it out. First, it was absolutely packed for a weekday at Noon which made me so happy given that the restaurant just opened for business. The service was prompt and friendly and I quickly scanned the menu and ordered my go-to which is Pho with steak and brisket. I've had a lot of pho in my life, like a ridiculous amount. From Arizona to Oregon, and up and down the coast of California. It's my staple that try immediately upon moving to a new area and I just moved here so here we are. This bowl of pho is in the top 3 that I've ever eaten! The broth was rich and flavorful, all the spices were perfect and both types of meat were very tender and the brisket wasn't too fatty which I've found more common at other places. I'm so thrilled this restaurant exists just a stone's throw away from my house. I will be back regularly to try everything on the menu and wish this business owner all the best and all the success, as Lorain County is huge and Vietnamese has been lacking...but not any longer!"

So, it's not surprising that park food can only be tolerated for so long until the adult palate screams: no more please. This restaurant was one of my saviors! So many other restaurants in the area are more of the same type of food in the park, so, thank you, Mekong, for being what you are.The restaurant is very large, very spacious and complete with a very extensive menu. I wasn't looking for much, just some simple veggies and rice, but I asked for it to be even simpler than on the menu, and they granted this request no questions asked, no funny looks and no hesitation whatsoever. The food came out before I could even think about what else to order - that may be why I didn't order more! The food was there, ready for me to eat before my eyes could figure out what more to order. The veggies were a lovely variety, fresh, crisp and sautéed up very flavorfully. The food was brought out so quickly after it was made, it was piping hot. I don't remember the last time I ordered food at a restaurant, and it was served as hot, because it was almost right off the range/ stove or burner they used to cook it up. The seasoning was just right, light and fresh. The rice was fluffy and perfect for accompanying my veggies.Loved this place so much, that I wanted to go back! Unfortunately, they are not open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so check when you can actually go here. There is also an extensive bar and drink menu.If I'm in Sandusky, I will be back here!"

Excellent summer rolls with shrimp and peanut sauce. Our table had an excellent chicken pho; shrimp with scallions, ginger and steamed broccoli; and the vermicelli bun with chicken ginger and fried onions. I am looking forward to returning as you can order their vermicelli bun one of three ways: ginger/fried onions; lemongrass; or curry. As good as the food was - service is the standout. The menu is compact, some appetizers, a number of Pho and other soups and some other Asian items. I picked the Shrimp Noodle Soup, simple and a great way to try how their food. Ordered and paid at the counter.I had just barely settled in when the food was ready for me. A large bowl of rice noodles, shrimp and broth with a bag on the side with bean sprouts, Asian Basil, jalapeno slices and a lime wedge. The meal was excellent; a heaping helping of tender rice noodles provided body, good sized perfectly cooked shrimp were the main course and the heavenly broth brought it all together. With the side of vegetables, sirancha sauce and hoison sauce you can modify the dish to your personal taste. The highlight of the meal was the broth, light and delicately balanced it just kept getting better.Sugar Bowl was excellent food, they were doing a lot of takeout while I was there.
