"Always love Pacific East. Their sushi tastes really fresh. Today I tried the Ichiban roll for the first time and loved it. It has smoked salmon, eel, cucumbers, avocado and fish roe wrapped in a larger roll with the seaweed on the outside. Lovely combination that I don't see often and it was really tasty. I also got the spicy tuna roll which was delicious. The tuna was chopped with the spicy mayo mixed with it inside the roll instead of on top. Pork gyoza was good. Kind of too soft but still tasty. The inside is super big although I haven't been in a while. Parking is usually kind of annoying if you are just going in to pick up there, but if you're going to sit down of course there's the nearby lot."
"Amazing! I am leaving as full as one can be. Awesome place for a group and this location is huge. The only downside is that on a weekend with a large group, anticipate slower service! As you can see below, these boats are huge! And if you're going with a large group, be patient and kind for the sushi chefs who are making these and staff who are serving. I recommend getting a few easy appetisers so that you're not waiting too long on an empty stomach. There are many options for what you can get to eat. I recommend getting any of the sashimi or sushi. The fish is surprisingly so fresh. Would love to come here again soon!"

"A tiny underground spot in Tremont underneath Dante, Ginko has some of the best sushi in Cleveland imo. Perfect for date night, friend dates, and solo dining. My friend and I got a Saturday night reservation and treated ourselves to an assortment of nigiri, unagi kabayaki special, and mango cheesecake. Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly throughout the night! She checked in on us several times, shared her favorites and the specials with us, and was fantastic all night! My favorites were the kabayaki special, seared salmon belly and seared fatty tuna nigiri, and the toro and truffle sushi. Sitting at the very aesthetically pleasing sushi bar in the center of the restaurant, we saw all the sushi being made in front of us for an immersive experience."
"Stopped on New Year's Day for lunch. We had a great experience and the items we had were fire. Service was also great. Started with shishitos and rangoons. Swear I would have ordered more and just ate those if I wanted to just be a big back. So good! Had the Crunchy LA and tried the Cowgirl. Again, really good! We will be back."
"Best sushi in the entire Greater Cleveland area! You would never expect this incredible sushi joint in mentor-on-the-lake. Very unassuming from the outside, but gorgeous contemporary decor on the inside. The servers are very helpful. This is our favorite spot for a date night! We like ordering a la carte, but everything on the menu is delicious - you can't go wrong. The salmon is our favorite, especially salmon belly. It's also really great that they offer soy paper for people who may not enjoy nori. If you are a little adventurous and looking to order alcohol, I recommend the Izeko (berry flavor if they have it). It's a Japanese Sake Jelly drink - think of it as a drink with jello in it, texture-wise. Also - salmon three-way appetizer is a great deal, highly recommend!"
"My wife and I had a wonderful experience at Shuhei. The ambiance was tranquil, providing the perfect setting for a relaxing meal. The service was top-notch, and we were impressed by the freshness of the food. My only critique would be that the fried rice was bland. I would've appreciated some additional flavor. Overall, it was a good experience and I look forward to returning."
"The food is one of the best sushi that I've ever had. Service is very great. They're very nice and friendly and they take all the questions and the parents is like a tiny sushi housing. You can see the chef's cooking your sushi."
"Awesome sushi! This place is always packed. We get salmon hand rolls. They are full of salmon. Not a couple of small pieces. Totally worth it."
"The food is really good, but I do have to say they need to ramp up their cleaning protocols, particularly in the bathrooms"
"I've heard lots of good things about Ohashi Sushi and was excited to try it! Located in the same plaza as Fat Head's Brewery, it's a nice spot for a date or dinner with a few friends. Our server Juan was very friendly and recommended the Fire Cracker Roll to us, especially since my date has not had a lot of sushi before. Let me tell you, the Fire Cracker Roll is one to try! We both loved it! The Rainbow Roll was another amazing option- the fish was so fresh. Overall, the sushi ranged from $11-$13 which is a very affordable price. Great sushi spot!"
"The restaurant has a wonderful set up with plenty of seating and even a sushi bar area where you can watch them make your roll. The staff was ok but I was overlooked for seating before having my order taken. They played nice music as I waited for my sushi roll which only took about 10 mins during a not so busy lunch hour.I ordered the American Dream roll which the waiter stated was a favorite. I was impressed it was very tasty and had many flavors. I would definitely try again."
"Happy hour pricing and individual sushi prices are very reasonable. They have so many options for salads, soups, sushi and meals. All the food was delicious and well prepared. We had a miss understanding about the streak being over cooked but that was addressed right away. The service was fantastic. Very attentive and confirmed our order to make sure everything would come out as expected. It appeared to have additional seating on the side but the over all space was comfortable. I am looking forward to stopping in for lunch in the near future."

I was browsing on Google maps for Asian restaurants in the Cleveland area and was surprised to find this restaurant with both Japanese AND Malaysian cuisines. I was eager to try both cuisines because they're some of my favorites (I have Malaysian family), and I've never seen anything like this before. Like with any huge menu, I had trouble deciding what to order because I wanted to try everything. I mainly ordered Malaysian dishes this time, plus the East roll, since I could hopefully come back one day and try other things. The hamachi kama is recommended, but I didn't want to wait because it takes longer to make. The mango chicken and rendang chicken came on flat plates that didn't make sense because the mango chicken was goopy and spilling over, and the rendang chicken was watery. These dishes are why I can't give 5 stars. I'm used to rendang being more "dry" like a thicker stew or curry. It seemed weird for the dish to come with raw lettuce and tomatoes, reminding me of Mexican restaurants that do the same (but it's for salad at Mexican restaurants). Since the rendang was so watery, there wasn't as strong of a flavor. The serving sizes for the beef stir fried noodle and mee goreng were very generous and came on huge plates. They both had the right amount of flavors. The mee goreng was slightly spicy, but in a good way. The east roll was also huge, but it's on the pricier side anyway. It had all my favorite sushi roll elements - fried/tempura, eel, and sauces I'm guessing are spicy mayo and eel sauce. Make sure to let it cool down first, or be careful eating it right away because it was really hot throughout!

Our first time trying hot pot. T'was my daughter's 15 birthday and she requested to try hot pot. Found Kintaro with great reviews... so off we went with the family, including younger siblings and grandma. Not sure if I'm just not used to today's all-you-can-eat (AYCE) prices, but had a bit of a sticker shock with $28. Ok... so we decided that AYCE would be silly for grandma and little siblings - they don't eat much at all, so 3 of us would get AYCE and 3 would order from the regular menu. Food was great, so I can understand the high marks, but the experience was very stressful! Because of the fact that we all didn't get AYCE, we were reminded again and again by our server that:1. We cannot share our food with the non-AYCE eaters. If they "see us" doing so, then everyone will be charged the AYCE prices. I cannot count how many times she told us this as we placed our individual orders. 2. For the AYCE eaters, don't order too much because if you don't finish, they "will charge extra!"It felt like she kept coming back frequently to look if we were sharing, BUT... didn't bother to refill our drinks until asked. I wouldn't recommend going unless everyone orders AYCE or everyone orders from the regular menu. Too stressful!

This place is amazing Ambiance was great, the service was attentive and the food was great. Had shishito peppers with a few rolls. Topped off with great saki. I definitely recommend this place for great food and time.

This is my favorite sushi place around! I have been coming here since they opened a few years ago, and it has never disappointed me. The service is always nice. The food is consistently good. I love going to the all day happy hour on Sundays!

This has been a family favorite since I was a kid and I'm glad that I can still enjoy it when I visit family. The parking lot can be hard to spot and the restaurant isn't visible from the street, you have to drive in and then the entrance to the restaurant is on the other side with the parking lot (it makes more sense when you see it in person). Keep your eyes out if you're stopping by for the first time. The sushi is delicious and over the years I can't tell you how many times we've enjoyed take out and dine in here.It does have an older feel, but is a great spot for a celebratory meal, date or time with family. On my last visit I came with my aunt, grandma and some friends and we all shared a variety of menu items.

This is one of my favorite local places. We had a bit of a wait for our entrees, but our soup and salad came out right away. I had the sushi and sashimi entree and my husband had the habachi steak and chicken combo. We really love their hibachi. The veggies are always cooked perfectly.

"What happened to this place? It used to be awesome circa 2010. The last table chef we had was lackluster and bored and our most recent take out the spicy tuna looked and had the consistency more like cat food. Sorry but do better!"
"This place was everything others said and more!Yes the decor is less than to be desired with some weird color vibes inside and out, but that's because they're focused on the sushi and food! I'll take that any day.My kids LOVE sushi so we ordered a ton and the waitstaff delivered it to us on a beautiful wooden board with a little sushi drawing which made the kids' night. The rolls were phenomenal (we had tuna avocado, salmon avocado, and yellowtail). We also really enjoyed the miso soup, seaweed salad, and chicken teriyaki. This place is not to be missed whether you live in Erie or are there for a visit. We'll be back!"
"Yum! What a great lunch experience I had here. Honestly I chose to come here just based on the fact that it was the only Korean restaurant in the area that was open on a Monday but I'm so glad! This is a small little Korean/Japanese restaurant with 7 tables, black and white checkered floors, minimal decor, and friendly service. They have a great weekday lunch special menu including my order, Beef Bulgogi for $13 (I think) and came with rice, kimchi, seaweed salad, and a crispy dumpling. It was the perfect amount of food at a great price! The food was fresh and tasted amazing! My only complaint is that they didn't have any music playing so I could hear people chewing and every noise in the restaurant. I will definitely come back here because there are a lot of other tasty sounding things on the menu. Parking is Beijing's the restaurant btw."
"Absolute family favorite sushi spot. Yes, they are incredibly short-staffed, so be patient & kind. The food is worth the wait! The ambiance is beautiful inside, perfect for a date night. They do have two larger dining areas in the back, and, a sunken in dining room as well (you have to call and reserve well in advance, though). Sometimes when it's a date we enjoy sitting at the bar, too, watching them prepare is cool to see."
"I have meen here 3+ time for work related events and each time they have done a tremendous job!!!Even when the party is 30ish people, they get all our drinks and orders in a timely manner and we are never waiting very long for the experience to start!! They do all the fun things... sake contest, catching broccoli in your mouth, onion volcano, ect!! They do even more when it's your birthday (disco ball!!!) I truly recommend the hibatchi dinner (even if you don't go to the show) it's delicious and I truly believe you get more food than other places!!! You get rice AND noodles!!!Awesome job and I can't wait to be back!!!"
"Before I go on with this review, I just want to point out that Kung Fu Tea has a separate business listing so please review those guys there. I see a handful of Kung Fu Tea reviews on here which doesn't belong.Anyways, been here several times already and can honestly say that the food and service is consistent every time!Appetizers I have tried are Onion Soup and Gyoza.Side orders I have tried are Shrimp Tempura and Brown Rice.Sushi that I have tried are Little Delicious Roll, Spider Roll, Ohio Roll, and Kenko Roll. The Teriyaki I have gotten the 3 item option of Shrimp, Chicken, and Beef. The Onion Soup($1.95) is basically Miso Soup with crispy fried onions which is what exactly it tastes like. Pretty good if you like onions. The Gyoza($4.95) on the menu it says it's a shrimp pot sticker but on my receipt is says chicken. Whatever it is, it's just your basic steamed pot sticker that is pan fried on one side. Tastes good especially when you dip it in the gyoza sauce that comes with it.The Shrimp Tempura($2) was a bit disappointing. The one I got was definitely not fresh for it wasn't even lukewarm. At least it was a little bit crispy but the fact that it was obviously not freshly cooked was a major turn off and will probably not order again. The Brown Rice($1.50) is a good alternative to white rice. Same flavor but healthier for you.The Little Delicious Roll($13.95), Spicy Tuna, Imitation Crab, Cream Cheese, Avocado, and Cucumber. Lightly fried and then topped with Spicy Mayo and Eel Sauce. There's nothing little about this roll. Tastes best as soon as it is served to you. Had some leftovers for breakfast, was good but did not taste as good when it was freshly made. The Spider Roll($11.95), Soft Shell Crab, Radish Sprout, Avocado, and Cucumber. Topped with Wasabi Mayo and Eel Sauce. This roll was just ok. I have had better Spider Rolls elsewhere. The Ohio Roll($10.95), Shrimp, Imitation Crab, Avocado, Cucumber, and Asparagus. Topped with Wasabi Mayo. What made this roll stand out is the asparagus. It was decent. The Kenko Roll($12.95) Shrimp Tempura, Imitation Crab, Cucumber, Avocado, and Cream Cheese. Wrapped in Soy Paper with Miso Glaze. This roll has good flavor and is just as good served after refrigeration. The common theme for all these rolls is that they contain most of the same ingredients except for 1 or 2 items. My favorites are the Kenko and Litlle Sushi Roll. The Teriyaki Bowl($13.95 for 3 items) this is the price for 3 items on their menu but on my receipt it says $15.95 plus $2 each for Shrimp and Beef which doesn't make any sense. Of course I opted for all 3 meats. Comes with veggies and white or brown rice. I opted for no rice, just all veggies. I added sauteed mushrooms one time for an extra $1.50. This bowl is just big enough to satisfy your appetite. The teriyaki sauce they throw on top gives it the good flavor you expect. Service wise, when you come in, if you are wanting sushi, you order on the left side of the counter and everything else you want to order, including Kung Fu Drinks, are towards the right. Make sure you mention your sushi order when ordering other things. You pay and then they call out your name when your order is ready.Overall, I have been coming here 1 to 2 times a week as part of my dinner rotation since I am working a contract over at the the University Hospital just a block away. Will definitely miss this place once my contract is up. Yelp 2022 Review #41892 overall"
"Wasabi JS creates a great environment for a group - whether family, friends or co-workers. some family took me for my birthday and we had a great time. The hosts provided good service, the chef was entertaining, and the food was well prepared - to our requests. The only drawback was the wait. I would prepare for a moderate wait despite having a reservation. All that said, I will go back in the future."
"Chinese buffet with a large selection. Don't miss the hibachi section in the back, where you pick your meat and veggies and they grill it up for you.Good food but mostly the same things you'll see at any Chinese buffet.Despite the name, not really Japanese, except for a modest selection of sushi and the hibachi & noodles."
"Bar: Quick and friendly serviceWe tried 3 different martinis and all 3 deserve a big thumbs up."
"I came here with a friend after going to the movies (which are pretty much next door, so convenient) and let me tell you, great choice. The interior is very modern and our server was super helpful. It was definitely a chilly day so we both started out with miso ($3) that did a great job at warming us up.I opted for the Fuji Volcano ($18). Shrimp tempura and unagi? Completely here for it. The seafood tasted fresh and it wasn't overly spicy despite the sauce. My friend got the Tako Nigiri ($3) and the Salmon Sashimi ($7) and she really enjoyed both. Overall I enjoyed this place. I will say that their specialty rolls hedge on the pricier side so that may be something to take into account. It's a bit of a drive for me but if I'm in the area it's definitely a great place to stop."
"Everyone let's gather around the grill laugh have a few drinks and eat some delicious goodness that's sometimes tossed at you to catch just like you do to the dog!Teppan is something that warms my heart as it's always a good time with friends and family as well as some random awesome stranger that comes to be your friend for the time being wile they cook that feast your about to eat!Coming here was just one of those random nights of let's go do this as I was highly motivated by the promise of some hot sake and needless to say that was what fueled me throughout the meal as you can't ever go wrong with some of that hot delicious rice wine goodness! Now let's get to the food!! For me it's all about the teriyaki steak as that's usually my go to at places like this and let's just say it surely didn't disappoint as it was cooked right in front of me perfectly with just the right amount of sauce to set it all right the way it should be!As if that was not enough before the main course came some of that yummy mushroom soup that had a few mushroom flakes as well as some crispy onions floating around in it making for a soupy yummy time!Along with the soup we were served a salad with ginger dressing that just hit the spot especially after a few bottles of sake as by this time I was already starting to feel the flavor of that but when mixed with that salad ginger goodness it was just what was right! So after more hot sake it was time to enjoy the main course a huge plate of that fried rice, teriyaki beef, grilled veggies, noodles, and some shrimp to make for the perfect meal all around.Like I said before the steak was cooked perfectly the veggies were the same perfect and yummy along with that fried rice just awesome at every bite but don't forget about the shrimp them too were awesome and just added that much more to an already yummy plate of delicious goodness!Something here that I haven't seen at a teppan place before was what they call yum yum sauce which is basically an Asian type of Mayo ranch concoction that's a bit funky a bit sweet and totally scrumptious in every way! This was a nice surprise because it's been a wile since I've had it and I had almost forgot how much more zest this sauce adds to something that's already amazing in every way!Now what about the show? The show is where it's at when you come to places like this as it can either make or break your time but let me assure you the show here was definitely up there with the best of the ones I've had as our chef killed it with the jokes and the pyrotechnics with everything from the classic onion volcano to going around the table squirting sake into the mouth of who wanted it with a countdown of who could go the longest with me getting up to about five seconds then spilling some of it out onto me like how can you go wrong with this? That was something I've never seen any other place do before and it was just a fun bit of chaos to an already awesome meal and cooking show! Our service was awesome our food was delicious the show rocked the sake senses and everything was just awesome so much so that I'll be counting the days until I come back!Overall definitely up there with the best teppan restaurants I've visited across the country the flavors were there the show was there the company was there and it was just a delicious fun experience all around like how can you go wrong with sake and food it's a perfect pair with all that said I'll see you again soon for some sake bombs!"
"Dragon roll and Cali roll. Excellent flavors and beautifully presented. Also the crab Rangoons were delicious! The lady at the front was warm and helpful and it was very nice inside."
"Good service, timely orders. I liked the ambience, the menu is quite large with friendly atmosphere."
"Fantastic food! We ordered take-out when family came to visit, and everyone was very happy with their orders, and this can be a tough crowd to please! Every Sushi roll was wonderful. The Bento boxes were very tasty, the soups were flavorful. The restaurant is conveniently located on Boardman-Poland Road (224).' We will definitely be coming back for more."
"Shinano Sushi Bar & Japanese Restaurant is an understated masterpiece. No heavy ornamented pictures on the walls and no Koi in a pool or the like.It simply concentrates its art to meticulous attention to detail and the delicate blending of flavors. My wife and I, culinary identical twins, always order the same thing. We decided upon the Bento Box with the tempura chicken and shrimp tempura combo. Our bubbly, courteous waitress was a bundle of enthusiasm. The lemonade was there in a flash, followed by a delicious Wonton Ko soup. Besides setting up your stomach, a poorly constructed soup can sour the mood. Most astounding was the portion of the box. Artistically laid out in the limiting confines of the box, you are delighted with a Japanese smorgasbord, excuse the strained metaphor, but your taste buds will forget the semantic faux pas and applaud the chef. I bet you can't eat it all and you'll make the waitress pack it all up for tomorrow's supper. It's that good!!Walking to pay your reasonable bill, it's nice to have neighborly "Goodbye" by the owner. Real small town warmth with "You'al come back... You hear?!!!Back again.... We never really left!Dr. R. Sevayega"
"The food was amazing. The service is always entertaining and does a great job. If you've never had hibachi this is a great experience."
"The best quality sushi I've had in Ohio to date. Our server David was excellent. I highly recommend and we will be back!"
"Yum!!! After being convinced how wonderful this place was by my co worker I tried it out. After enjoying it so much my husband called in a takeout order and loved being able to get it from the drive through window. Everything was GREAT! However if you have to get one surprisingly good item...vegetable dumplings! WOW! I could've eaten the entire order of them myself. Everything else was great and priced fair. Would recommend!"
"This is my and my daughter's favorite place to go!! Love the service here and the food is amazing! Definitely go for hibachi because the show is so fun. And what is nice is it's not overly priced for hibachi food."
"The entryway is completely impossible for a person with a wheelchair to navigate, they have a long, steep ramp with a threshold that will not allow the front tires to clear. Luckily one of the patrons leaving helped back us up the ramp.Mass confusion at the desk, the hostess seemed new and overwhelmed. lots of folks with no reservation, nobody at the desk willing to deal with anyone. One of the hostesses was outside as we approached the door and on seeing us with the wheelchair snuck in and avoided holding the door open, nice.I won't be too hard on the server; it appears as though she has at least nine tables. LOUD, there seems to be lots of birthday parties, which is fine but very very loud Oyster appetizer with miso infused mayonnaise is excellent and the sautéed squid was wonderful as well. Very cold and crispy salad, wonderful dressing. Edamame was okay but needed more salt. The atmosphere was spoiled by a very loud Russian person who eventually had to be asked to leave. The manager should have intervened much earlier than she did. We both had the Chirashi, it was not authentic in the least. No boiled shrimp, no fish roe, no pickles, no seaweed, no squid or octopus, it was 12 pieces of mediocre fish on a bed of rice with a small piece of tomago. It could have used less rice and way more variety of seafood. Adding insult to injury, one of the bowls had a large chip, chips like this are a breeding ground for bacteria and likely a health code violation. All in all, an interesting night but scratched off of our list of return destinations."
"Still love this place! They need pork entrees on the menu like they have at the real/fake, Ameri/Chinese restaurants on the east coast. (Boneless spareribs, anyone? How is a rib boneless?!)Lack of pig options aside, I love Hanami. Order accuracy is paramount at this restaurant, And the best of their (too large) menu is unrivaled."
"Old Maple Leaf restaurant for those long time Chardonites. The inside pretty much looks the same but instead of where the salad bar is now there is a sushi bar.Food was good except for the the ginger dressing on the salad was weird. Tasted weird and had an odd texture.I would advise to look carefully at your bill. I had ordered a virgin drink and noticed there was an extra charge. Made no since to be charged more for not having alcohol so I pointed it out and it was an error, they charged me for both a virgin drink and the alcoholic version. Glad I looked because honestly I normally don't.Will give them another shot in the future! California roll was delicious as was the miso soup."
"This restaurant is near a good friends house and is a go to when we want Asian cuisine. They have a great menu that features Chinese and Japanese specialties. I personally love the General Tso Tofu. It has great flavor and better texture than the chicken version. Love to get it extra spicy."
