Gerri S. "A Jewel in the Crown . . . here in Westlake! This "Jewel" isn't Great Britain's India from the past, but a modern, bright, and spacious shop in Westlake. From the friendly, welcoming proprietors to the vast selection of foods and sprinkling of giftware---including the cutest ever Swarovski crystal oyster and pearl---it's well worth visiting.Per their website, Rimi's is the first Indian store of it's kind in Cleveland, offering bakeries, groceries, and gift items. They're also the exclusive Cleveland retailer of Roopak brand spices and pickles (spicy relishes). Chutney (spicy fruit or tomato relishes) are stocked, too.Whether you already enjoy eating Indian foods, or have never tried this cuisine but are curious about it, you will enjoy looking through their expansive cooler/freezer and well-stocked shelves. They also offer fresh (daily) produce at the rear of the store, and several varieties of fresh and colorful mithai (sweets) in their inviting bakery case. Asked if I'd like to try one to sample, I chose the yellow and bright green pistachio-filled that was in a cylindrical shape. It was quite good---reminded me of marzipan. Naan (bread) is available frozen, refrigerated, and non-refrigerated, and they carry over 15 rices, including Tilda brand, my favorite basmati.Among many vegetarian products are: eggless tea cakes, cookies, decorated layer cakes, cupcakes and puff pastries. Their full-size potato/pea and paneer masala puffs are offered daily, but for other choices confirm what they have available for purchase beforehand, since some items are baked to order. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * For complete list of bakery and pricing, pull up their website. www.indianbakersngrocers.com? Are you a vegetarian, but have never tried Indian foods ? You must try it. This is a whole new world of flavors. Pick a few prepared savory dishes and enjoy something completely different---and healthy, too. And if you aren't a vegetarian, but new to this cuisine, because many Indian dishes can very easily complement poultry, meat, or fish, begin by trying them as side dishes. All Indian foods are best accompanied with rice or naan---or both---and a small serving of pickle or chutney."

Heather B. "This Middle Eastern grocery store is conveniently located off Route 8 and Portage Trail in Cuyahoga Falls. It has a wide selection of various Middle Eastern foods, teas, coffees, snacks, dates, etc. from many different countries! If you want something from Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Yemen, etc., you will likely find it here! They have shelf/pantry items, fresh refrigerated foods, and frozen foods.I've been here twice and the man in charge (possibly the owner?) named Mufasa is very helpful and friendly! He will help you find anything you need! He speaks both Arabic and English. Do not be intimidated if you do not speak Arabic, it's fine! He will help you in English! They accept cash, debit, credit, and Apple Pay. They have a private parking lot in front and on the side of the store.I will definitely be coming back here!"

There was a great selection of choices and some brands that we haven't tried before. They have spices, marinades, sauces, bread, drinks, snacks, beauty products and more for sale in the store. They also have different hot many items you can order. We had already eaten dinner, so we opted to try the beef patty as an after dinner snack and it was excellent. Crispy on the outside, hot and flavorful on the inside. When we're in town again we'll be stopping by to try more of their menu."

Took time to explain a few vegetables I was not familiar with. She also stated they are still getting in new stock but it was very well stocked. Also had silk on the roll for Indian saris. Lots of fresh veggies in refrigerators. Everything was very clean. Even high BTU gas double burners. Very impressed."

Christina P. "This is probably the cleanest and most organized Asian grocery store in the Greater Cleveland Area (it's on the way towards Beachwood really but I'm still counting it). It's also really rather massive. However the reason I'm reviewing it is not for the Asian food (decent variety of Chinese, Japanese and Korean foods - with more variety of Chinese than the others) or the fact that it has a lunch cafe (I came well past it being closed unfortunately). No, the reason I'm reviewing it is because it has a European corner. That's right. A European corner including a European deli (which my parents frequent and are fans of because 1. It's good and 2. It's cheaper than the European stores in Parma). The food in this area is definitely Eastern-European focused like the stores in Parma but it's closer to the east side. This is a great place if you need any Asian groceries or Eastern European goods and you don't want to go to Parma - especially if you're on the east side."

The rest of it was entirely random- lots of drink mixes and coffee mixes, two freezers full of seafood, a fridge of American and Asian single serve drinks....just random and reallly not worthwhile to visit at all. Minimal produce. Go to any of the other four stores in the area or better yet walk 300 feet to Family Grocery and get a way better selection of Asian products."

Donna H. "Do you like authentic Mexican food at great prices? An informal atmosphere where multiple visits earn you a "regular" badge and a smile from the cook? Do you like Coke made with real sugar and not corn syrup? Do you want to grocery shop after you eat? Licha's is your place. It's not fancy, and it's not big (because it's nestled in a corner of the store), but they offer yummy, inexpensive choices, like tacos with your choice of meats (pollo, lengua, barbacoa, chorizo, al pastor, etc.) garnished with cilantro and onion and a slice of lime, burritos, tortas, and a full dinner menu with some delicious plates. I worked my way thorough each of the meat choices in sequence last year during a series of taco lunches; I came away convinced that I would never have a bad meal here even if my understanding of Spanish is limited. You can pay your meal tab in cash, or take your tab to the checkout with your groceries and use a card. They don't serve alcohol, but the Mexican Cokes make up for it."

We got to try some of their food -- some mezzes such as chicken salad, cooked eggplant, and a beet slaw. Their chicken kabobs were so flavorful, and of course the best part was learning how to make lahmajun. I would highly recommend this place to eat or to shop for some basic middle eastern, Turkish, and south asian necessities. The people who work there are so nice as well, and as someone who is newer to Cleveland, this is definitely a favorite."

Giovanni V. "Petra is an excellent choice for middle eastern and Mediterranean grocery in the Akron area. They also have fresh halal poultry, meats, lamb, beef, etc. They pre-cut it and prepare it/wrap it for their customers to make it easy. The store offers a wide array of the usual Mediterranean and middle eastern food goods, imports, grocery, fresh meat, frozen items, cheeses, labneh, yogurt (Greek style, Lebanese, others), fresh pondered coffee beans, coffee/eat kettles, kitchen ware, pita bread bags, candy, and all the known lovely sweets (baklava, warbaat, katayef, etc). They also sell pre-packaged assorted baklava sweets, as well as imported sweets. The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The owner is very friendly and she always tries to accommodate the kitchen needs especially when it comes to fresh meat, poultry, lamb, etc. Cleveland/Akron area has a number of similar stores, but this one serves Tallmedge and Akron area which helps since there are not too many similar stores directly nearby in Tallmedge and south Akron area. If you are in the area and need some quick Mediterranean grocery flair, stop by."

Van D. "Park to Shop is an Asian grocery store located in the AsiaTown area. I wouldn't be able to tell from the name alone that it was an Asian grocery story if my friend hadn't taken me there. She tells me this is where she has been going for her Asian ingredients. And that they are less stinky than the other Asian grocery store in the area. In the front of the store they have a large corkboard for personal ads. I saw multiple languages. Of the ones I can read, there were ads for hiring or shop transfer and all sorts of things. Seems like a helpful tool for the minority community in the area to connect and help each other. So while in Cleveland, I just wanted to prepare a nice meal for my friend while she was working. To my credit, she told me it was better than any of the Vietnamese restaurants in the area. I found that their ingredients were limited to the selection that I am used to at my local Asian grocery store but I was able to cut corners and find alternatives to minimally get by. Overall I'm glad my friend has an Asian market nearby but I can't help but wish it had a better selection."

My friend introduced me to this place a while back because I was looking for something different. I was tired of American cake. Way to much frosting and not enough cake. Or vise versa.Well, I was introduced to Spatka! Holy hell. This is thin layer after layer of cake and frosting. Equal amounts of both, perfectly sweetened. I will admit this, we bring home a cake and eat the entire thing right out of the box while binge watching Netflix. The other baked goods they have are just as spectacular. Really, nothing that is prepared here is bad.We love to just bring home the locks and snack on those for a few days. They do have a deli that is packed full of homemade delicious Russian foods.
