"This is a Hollywood movie come true! The Sirna's were your typical urban-dwelling family with regular city-type jobs up until a few years ago when they decided to buy a plot of land and move out to the country to start farming. Today, they do a great job encouraging and supporting local farming initiatives while taking their hard-worked goods to weekend markets in Cleveland suburbs like Shaker Heights and South Russell. They also operate their own storefront on their land open during growing season which features their own goods as well as stuff from local farms and wineries (cheese, sausages, canned goods, wines, etc.) - again, supporting the local farmers and businesses. One story I always tell people is on one weekend I was desperate for some dill as I had a bunch of baby cuckes at home ready to be pickled. She ran out of the store and came back from the fields a few minutes later handing me this gigantic bouquet of dill weed for about $2. Now I only needed a few sprigs for the pickles but boy the house smelled great for a week!We participated in their CSA one year - a way of buying a share in the farmers' operation. For an up-front lump sum fee, your share nets you a weekly bag of whatever the crops yield that week. This goes on for several months while crops can be harvested. While you don't usually get a choice of what you'll receive (it's whatever is ripening that week!), every bag has an abundance of food. This is perfect for the family that has flexibility in preparing and eating a variety of vegetables from week to week. We received throughout the growing season (not in just one week) corn, potatoes, tomatoes, green beans, radishes, zucchini, butternut squash, yellow squash, kohlrabi, onions, and much more. On weeks which were light on crops, especially in the beginning, Sirna's substituted freshly-ground peanut butter and local honey.Sirna's also does a Fall festival open house with hay rides for the kids.Located along 44 about 2 miles south of 422, Sirna's is definitely worth your while to stop by here one of your summer/fall weekends and support your local farmers."
"Quarry Hill is a truly brilliant find! Located in Berlin Heights, this family farm is worth the stop or even worth the road trip. To begin, it's just beautiful. When you picture a Pinterest worthy farm with local goods, it's this spot plus so much more.I am just absolutely smitten with this farm market. They have every kind of apple imaginable (including ones I had never even heard of), beautiful fruits and vegetables, a killer bakery, and a wide assortment of small biz goods like jams, honeys, baking mixes, syrup, hot chocolate and more. I don't even want to tell you what my final bill was here! All of these local goods are my weakness!Greta in the store was so helpful to me. Upon entry she greeted me with a cup of apple cider and answered all my city girl questions about the farm. The cherry for me was the farm's old golden retriever that followed me around until I scratched his booty. He snatched a pear out of a bin and carried it around with so much pride. What a good boy!I'm obsessed with this beautiful place and can't wait to come back."
"Beautiful market that is well stocked. We wanted to get sweet corn for dinner and decided to give this place a try. It was well laid out with a good variety of items. Fresh fruit and vegetables, baked goods, meat, dairy and lots of items in between. They have carts available for shopping. The sweet corn was only $4 a dozen. A few pieces were not perfect in our bag but we still thought it was a great value. Plus they have a beautiful farm with the sunflower field!"
"A crazy interesting turnaround story. Going from economic downturn plight to selling squash blossoms to chefs, and then becoming chef specific bespoke produce for many restaurants. Micro products, funky experiments like growing seeds with no light to gain different textures, flavors, and stages that you wouldnt see in normal produce. Maybe a bit on the expensive side but they go above and beyond in a mad science way sometimes so r&d has its expenses."
"I love love love this market.Everything I ever bought was wonderful and fresh. I only wish it were bigger! The prices are great. Most of the time it's cheaper than the grocery store or Walmart."
"After 20+ years in business, this organic farm is no longer in operation for selling produce full-time, but they do have some crops available on occasion but they are not for sale. If you know the owners (retired from farming), or if you are down on your luck, they would probably offer to let you pick some food for free (like apples or blueberries ). I also understand that they work on the barter system for the general public. They no longer offer public hours, but if you call 814-967-4423, and leave a message (they don't answer the phone anymore to screen spam calls), you might be able to schedule an appointment to visit. Overall cool place, Cheers!!"
"I absolutely love this "farmstand" it has grown so much over the years. It started out as a woman running a small stand and odds and ends store out of her home. Now it is a pretty large seasonal flower & produce stand outside with fresh meats, cheeses, and baked goods inside. They also have a small grocery store inside with essentials. If you are from out of town it's a cute place to stop in to browse. Local? Their product is inexpensive and high quality, plus they are a small local business and keeping your money local is great!"
"This is for the Market in Lyndhurst:I love this market!! The prices are always reasonable and everything looks good. The best Black Cherries I could find any place. The deli counter is great also!"

Great farm market to shop at. Everything is locally sourced from the vegetables, meat, fruit, seasoning, cheese, and best local wine selection around. Family run, and they make sure to give you a tour of the farm or greenhouses if you ask. You'll see Annie planting her seedlings year round, Craig cultivating the land, bailing hay, or delivering fresh toppings for their pizza parlor just up the road.

I've had Quarry Hill on my list for some time, and their Peaches and Cream event seemed like the perfect time to visit. The weather had other plans- and it downpoured about 20 minutes after we arrived. This was almost a blessing, because it truly showed what a great operation they have going on. The owner gave everyone instructions on where to shelter and welcomed us all to wait out the storm with them. They checked in all their vendors and helped them bring their tents down. The community help here was very cool to watch. Everyone just pitched in to ensure safety. They had some quick thinking and moved the live music up to the loft and added a wine bar in the hallway. Someone was handing out watermelon slices. It was crowded, but nobody seemed to mind!I'm sure if this were anywhere else they would have scrambled to close up and guests would have scattered to their cars and went home.We enjoyed some amazing peach ice cream and peach iced tea, a tasty food truck, some bakery, a grape slushie, and a beautiful space. The barn and market are truly lovely- Instagram worthy! Darling little touches everywhere, even the bathroom was cute. There are two resident golden retrievers that roamed the property, like a couple of furry greeters. The market is stocked with peaches, apples, various other produce, small business goods (we found some of our other favorites here- Hartzlers Dairy and Bold Pickens pickles!), some decor and gift items, tees, bakery, ice cream, homemade popsicles, candles, and so much more. We also took home a Peach Crisp from Bakehouse 3195 and it was one of the best crisp/ crumbles I've ever had. We can't wait to take the drive out again. The most impressive part was the staff and owners. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and the sense of community was inspiring. We had a great time and the rain couldn't wash away the joy!

Not a Family friendly place to shop! they do not let you choose your own ears of corn and are known for spiking your bag with undesirable ears of corn. They are very disrespectful and have no customer service skills. I believe they are racist against Asian people as it is the only logical explanation for the evil treatment we received from them today. We stopped by today to get corn to compare to Grobes farm about a minute to the west of fowls. We will never go back to Fowls even if the corn is free! The price of their corn is a direct reflection of their business, they can't charge more because of what you get from them! Very disrespectful and a disgrace to American farmers I suggest everyone Boycott Fowls too many family friendly businesses just down the street!

Those who know me best know that I am a foodie and passionate home chef. If I had the space, time and my Great Grandmother's green thumb I would totally grow my own food. Since it's not possible for me to live out this dream right now, I recently found a great alternative. I now know a wonderful source of top quality, ultra fresh produce. The best part is that it is delivered to my home via FedEx. This socially conscious organization supplies high quality restaurants and homes while also supporting organizations who are helping to feed those in need.I gifted my parents (in a health risk category) with an introductory box of goodies. This was a practical and safe way to show my love and appreciation. I could also make sure they have a supply of good quality food without leaving their home.My own subscription arrived quickly. It contained a gorgeous variety of fresh herbs, micro greens, herbs, root vegetables and assorted field greens and vegetables . All are ready to be used and they will provide me with many nourishing meals at home. Farmer Jones Farm is the provider for home deliveries. Www.farmerjonesfarm.com

Yeah, I came down here my first weekend back and realized that I was in the middle of an amish block party. Replete with country music guy playing in a gazebo. However, the food stuffs are SUPER fresh (one upside of living in the middle of freakin nowhere) and CHEAP and TASTY!so I give it five stars. Wayyyy better than a grocery, once you get past that whole culture shock thing.

I've decided to update my review. As hard as it is to find good produce, I've realized that we need to support our neighbors.

This is a nice road side Market that has almost everything you need. The vegetables and fruits are as local as the season allows. Ella Kauffman goes out of her way to please the customer. Thanks Ella and staff!

"Don't delay, eat it today!" That is my motto for shopping anywhere you find surprisingly cheap food and Produce Place (where I found a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables today) is one such place. A discriminating shopper knows to give everything a gentle squeeze before inviting it into the cart. You are looking for firmness. But soft ain't bad, so long as you can fix it into something soon. As such, I appreciate that Produce Place has a rack, albeit small, for buying "seconds," especially considering that places like Whole Foods chuck out cartloads of perfectly good items as routinely as Hollywood does actresses who turn 30. I wouldn't feign to guess the business model of Produce Place, or why they can price food (including deli meats and cheeses) lower than nearby competitors do, but if the selection is always changing as a result, then I, for one, would not object. This store is cozy, tidy, and clean. They fit a wide range of items into a small space, including some of the "fancy stuff" at affordable prices, and they focus on the fresh stuff - not prepared or imitation food. I could do a complete shop here. Next up: trying the baked goods or spices on for size. Lastly, the staff happened to be very friendly and nice when I went there. The place is one of three locations owned by a local band of brothers. The whole experience is a refreshing detour from every soul-crushing Big Box Mart. Buy local, people! And Produce Place: keep it up with the organic and local foods, too. If this review sounds like a paid promotion: sorry, it's not. Though I might consider an offer...of one of those 5-pound bags of frozen fruit. Yes. For those confused about the "Sun Plum" reviews, here is the explanation:http://s.cleveland.com/2pnDB2Y

"RecommendedNice little market with fresh produce. If you're a cute blonde look out - the owner and son will try to go out with you LOL. It's all in good fun (but seriously they will) I've been in here with my mom and sister a few times and both times they were invited to an outing or to Florida, etc. as a date. Once your self esteem gets a nice boost you're on your way to DIY fresh ground peanut butter and other nice items for a reasonable price. It's definitely worth a stop in to this nice little local market that is family owned."
"This small business continues to serve the needs of the community; especially during this difficult time. Fresh produce and great meat options. Specials on pasta and canned tomatoes. Excellent selection of wine and currently they even have toilet paper. Skip the lines and chaos. Your needs can be met right here."
"Taste T's is one of the many great small, local vendors that can be found at the Frostville Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings in the Cuyahoga Valley Metroparks in North Olmsted.Taste T's sells homemade pies and galettes and now has hand pies in many fruit flavors. We had the peach galette and we loved it!There are many more vendors to explore at the Frostville Farmer's Market!"
"What a great place to pick up cheese and meats. We picked up some horseradish cream cheese and honestly, I've been putting it on everything ever since! When you first walk in, the smell of the donuts is intoxicating and really draws you in. Don't get stuck there! There is so much more to see and buy. Keep walking!"
"This trip (my 3rd) to Krieg's I didn't pick any strawberries. I wasn't on a first date, but my eleventieth date with RBJ. We took some time on a hot summer afternoon to explore Lorain county and I suggested we make the 10 minute drive from Vermilion to Krieg's. The produce appears to be fresh, and the signs indicate "garden grown." I am inclined to believe the produce is local, because sometimes the produce has a sign that says "Tennessee" or something, indicating the items are not from Ohio. The prices aren't as cheap as you see along a desolate country road where someone has set up a card table to sell their excess veggies, but they aren't more than a grocery store either. I really didn't need anything so I only bought ice cream. Oh, the ice cream. I can't really comment on the flavor or quality of the "custard" because Krieg's uses fresh berries in its milkshakes. All I tasted was awesome blackberry goodness. I felt like I was slurping heaven through a straw. You can't miss the ice cream, and you'd better get it with berries. The sign reads "frozen custard" but I don't know that it is actually custard."
"During the off season my wife and I visit their bulk foods store. Very good prices and a great store for any confectionery bakers out there. It's a beautiful drive on a cool, sunny day in February as well"
"Stopped in for some fresh produce and eggs and wasn't disappointed. The sweet corn was DELICIOUS as were the rest of the goods we brought home! Their homemade garlic dill pickles are a must. They take card or cash which was convenient for us."
"Good for all kinds of vegetables during the summer months. We get stuff from here all the time and have never had a problem. Great stuff."
"Gorgeous, really cool venue. We went for breakfast and the food was phenomenal. Lots of coffee drinks to choose from too and service was great! Would go back at night for a different experience."
"One step into this little orchard and I'm sent flying back to the days of being a little kid in the fall, picking apples off the shelf and devouring them. I also remember my Mom telling me to quit eating so many, or I was going to get sick. It's just a little shop, but the local produce is great. Peaches, plums, veggies, grapes and tons of varieties of apples, all grown right on site. It doesn't stop there, either. Popcorn kernels, jams, cider, pumpkins, gourds and a hellava lot more. But the best part, their very own pickles! Choose from garlic or traditional kosher dill, these ginormous cukes of wonder are beyond tasty... and still in their barrels! Not a ton of activities for kids, but still super fun. They allow for samples of every fruit they sell, which translates to heaven in child-talk. What doesn't translate to heaven is the port-o-potty situation. I know, it sounds prissy, but damn do I hate these things! Can't I just use the restrooms inside?Would I say it's worth westsiders to drive all the way out to Chardon? That's a really long drive... But I seriously love this place. It might be because I've been coming here since childhood with my Mom, but it's worth checking out at least once. Viva la local produce!"
"Since the pandemic y'all know these distributors continue to hit our heads as it relates to food because we are not making a stand.I salute every farmer out there who is still doing the dahgone thing to bring fresh fruits and veggies to the likes of Miles Farmers Market.I was in a big chain grocer who had just opened in the area and I was not impressed by any means. But chatting it up, I was told about Miles Market and how they had fresh fruits and veggies and reasonable prices. I checked out the Googler and hit the highway. When I went in I was just shocked and awed so much I have not one picture. I had been looking for delicata squash all over the city and they have it!!! Everything was pretty and the prices were good for me who really Only eat Gods food and some seafood. Enjoy yourself!Oh! They had the freshest sushi that I've had in a minute NOT from an Asian restaurant!"
"I love city fresh. Where else can you get a big bag of locally grown produce for fifteen bucks? Or the family size for $28? City Fresh has expanded their locations so they now have pick-up sites all over lorain and cuyahoga county. Last weeks share bag had acorn squash, peaches, green and red peppers, cilantro, corn, egg plant, carrots, lettuce and apples. As the weather changes they expect to see more squash, pumpkins and apples. Seriously, if you are big into supporting local, non-profit businesses and receiving amazing fresh local fruits and veggies then there really is nothing better than city fresh. It's pretty easy to sign up. You just have to go to one of the locations to sign up for the following week."
