Yikes.Fantastic interior and great staff - but look at the pics; they burned the last calorie out of those chicken wings! It is this new kitchen fad, where 20-something's in the back are 'trying to invent' a new item. To be 'liked'.You can just imagine the chef at Butcher: he holds the grill top handle in one hand, iPhone with instagram and his burned-to-shit black lump-wings.. eyes popping out sockets, while hoping he'll 'influence' the world! Ha!Dry lumps of coal, burned into the gutter. The wings, were a food fail!Your wings tasted like biting into a lump of coal from a fireplace. Fingers covered in soot! The food was not just black - it was so 10-minutes over-burned, I left all but one on the plate. Inedible. I had cough attacks with ash in my throat! You should've hired me - I'd teach you a few things about grills!!Quit screwin' around with 'rubs' and 'chars' that you can't pull off to save Armageddon. I mean get real! Even a canine wouldn't eat your rock wings. Waste of money, you rummies!Get all new cooks!Review: 2

REALLY cool looking place ! Me & some friends coming back from Ohio's National Park and we hit up this place to eat. The picture of the pretzel got me. I looove pretzels !! But I didn't read that its communal bar food. So we had to get 2 of each orders and split it 4 ways. We got 2 pretzels, which were good but we hated the non cheese sauce that came with it. It was funky tasting. We got 2 orders of the corn dogs, which is half the size of regular corn dog and the batter was bland. I wouldn't get it again. WWe got 2 orders of the sliders and those were really good!! Then we got one order of the steak, because it was $32.00 a plate. THAT was the only thing that was AMAZING !! But damn 32.00 bucks !! I went to the restroom down below and it's a beautiful place but I would never come back again. We each got half a pretzel, one slider, 3 tiny pieces of steak, and small corn dog, we didn't get any drinks but water and the bill was expensive for what we got. If it's just two people, kind of perfect but not more than that.

Came in late Friday night for dinner. Had a great experience! We shared the pretzel, slides, patatas, and baked brie. Everything was great, the pretzel and brie were our favorites. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant itself was spacious and clean. Would reccomend and would come back!

Really good food and drinks! Loved the spicy rigatoni and sliders! The pretzel was good and we enjoyed the corn dogs as well! If you get a beer, the lemon shandy was delicious!

Butcher and the Brewer was a great spot to stop off for some shareable dishes & some delicious cocktails or brews. Located downtown Cleveland by the House of Blues, there is plenty to do in this area after you enjoy your eats & drinks! We opted for a variety of dishes; brussel sprouts, kimchini balls, carrots dressed to the nines, fried chicken wings. All were made to perfection and satisfies our hungry palates. The cocktails were next level delicious. The server was attentive, suggestive, helpful, and down to earth. We really enjoyed this restaurant. Perfect for date night, family dining, groups. You may set a reservation before arriving! Give Butcher & the Brewer a whirl. You will leave satisfied!

Surprisingly not busy on a Wednesday evening. Food was quite good: the pork belly bites were fantastic! The pineapple butter was a perfect foil to the richness of the pork. Such a revelation! The sticky chicken was also good; I had asked for blue cheese dressing on the side to add a bit of creaminess, but it was good otherwise. Skin was crunchy and crispy, with a bit of spice ( hence the dressing request), so buyer, beware! Our server left us a bit wanting for more...hardly checked in on us in spite of it being a bit slow, though he did get excited talking about some of his favorites on the menu.Restrooms are quite cute, all the way to the end downstairs.Would definitely go back again for the food, and would be willing to give "service" another try.

Sometimes a dinner is so good, you need to commemorate it with a souvenir shirt to bring back the memories. I'll proudly wear my Butcher and the Brewer shirt! The food was top notch all around, but standouts were the Octopus (super tender, nice amount of spice) and the Brussels Sprouts (crispy, great sauce, and lots of bacon!). The beer was excellent as well. I had never had a white stout, but was really impressed. Lots of coffee flavor and a bit lighter than a traditional stout. Ok, so maybe a shirt and a 6-pack as souvenirs. One caveat - would not come if planning on deeper conversations. It's just pretty loud inside. In summary, I wish I lived in Cleveland so I could return soon!

The 4th Street area near Cleveland's arena district is well known and is quite the nice little pedestrian street, if you can avoid the scammers and such. Unfortunately areas like this bring unavoidable mediocrity in food and drink options. We did get our food quickly, but having to use an app and provide credit card information and other personal information to is downright rude and irritating. I wouldn't go back just because of that. The wait staff were kind, and there was a lot of football on which was great. The food was rather mediocre, however, akin to Applebees or a similar restaurant but with nicer looking food on the plate. We knew what we were getting into so we didn't really have a problem with the Butcher and Brewer (hoppy weatbiers? What's with this trend), but if you're looking at your options downtown and you are thinking "maybe this one won't be too bad, the pictures look ok and it's got a cool sounding name", I wouldn't just say that this establishment, like many others, is about what you'd expect.

This place is kind of a mess. They make you order off a QR code which means they have less staff working which im sure is good for payroll and bad for your experience. Not sure why the shishito peppers are drenched in some kind of bizarre sauce just salt them and send them out like every normal place. Beer is okay but outdated styles. Brussel sprouts were fine. Seltzer is served in the styleof german berliners with the pumped syrup in a plain base. Was probably the best part of the visit.
