Brennan's Fish House

We got the fried perch, walleye, and roughy. We also got the crab cake, scallop, French fries, and loaded mashed potatoes. The French fries were a little greasy, but it didn't bother us. They provide a warning when you're in the restaurant.All in all, we liked some dishes better than others. The fried perch and walleye were fried perfectly and were among some of the best North-American style fried fish I've ever had. The mashed potatoes were also delicious.We loved our waitress, and appreciated her telling us which items were from the lake, and which were shipped in. We would recommend Brennan's over the place next door!

This restaurant had such a warm and welcoming vibe as soon as we set foot in the door. It seemed like we were going back in time, in the best way possible. The owner was walking around, greeting customers, and making sure that everyone was taken care of. Right down to helping an elderly gentleman take his coat off and get seated. This is a rarity anymore. Our server Makenzie didn't miss a beat, despite it being a packed house on a Friday night. I had a cherry mule cocktail, which was excellent. And we started out with a salad and appetizer platter. Everything arrived quickly but was timed well enough that we didn't feel rushed between entrees. I ordered the Lake Erie perch platter with fries and coleslaw. It was all fresh, hot, and delicious. The coleslaw needs a bit of work, though. They were very generous with the sauces for each entree. My hubby got the Delmonico steak and shrimp dinner. The steak was cooked to perfection! Very tasty, no A-1 sauce needed! The owner even checked in with us to make sure that our dinners were satisfactory. I ordered a slice of key lime pie to go! It was great! Overall, if you're looking for a top-notch seafood experience, look no further! We can't wait to return!

Visited on a slow night due to the weather. So we were seated right way. We got 2 fish and chips. Simple but so tasty. The service was quick (only 2 tables sat) and friendly. Food was out quick. Brendan's has a long history and you can feel it while sitting there. Definitely feel like you're in a fisherman's town. It's worth making the trip.

We visit Brennan's bi-weekly because my spouse loves their Perch, and I will order their crab legs. The last few times at the restaurant, I noticed the floors were slick with grease. This time, the floors were so slick by our table that it was hard to get our footing. It was disgusting. The bottom of my brand-new white deck shoes are filled with grease. I can't get it out. It's awful. Now, I don't know what to think. My family has owned a famous fried chicken dinner restaurant for over 60 years in Ohio. Never, ever, during the entire time of ownership, even in the kitchen with oil or butter being used, was there ever a build-up on the floors like in this restaurant, they'd mop it clean. There are no excuses for what is on their floors. They're asking for an accident and for a customer to fall. The two people said nothing when I mentioned it to the desk where we paid. They put their heads down, had nothing to say, had no apology, ignored me, and took our money like I wasn't speaking. It was incredible. I know they were young, but are they ignorant of basic social norms and customer service? I couldn't believe it! I was shocked, and their reaction made me all that much angrier. Everything we ordered was tossed onto our table like a cafeteria-style restaurant at once. I had to dine sideways and couldn't enjoy my meal because I couldn't find my meal. Thanks for the most unpleasant experience I've had in a very long time and for ruining my shoes. Good grief. Who's watching the store?

My mom decided she wanted to try this place for her birthday dinner. I hadn't done any research ahead of time, so I wasn't sure what to expect. It's across the street from a pretty well known seafood restaurant, but Brennan's seems to hold their own. The look from the outside gives "nautical" vibes and once inside its very casual, but has a homey, familiar feel to it. Our server was Corey, and he was very friendly, professional and he did not forget about us. The food was fresh and tasty. For starters we had:Fried calamariBreaded oysters (fried)Fried mushroomsAnd of course the bread and butter. Four of us got the catfish with the Cajun seasoning, I replaced my coleslaw with a side salad. My daughter used some of the bread and made her a catfish sandwich. My mom got the stuff Orange roughy, she said it was great and filling. We had food to take home and no room for desert. We received a visit from who I could only assume is the manager or maybe owner, asking how everything was. It's things like that that make a difference. I'm glad we tried Brennan's, it was a hit.

Bus boy took the plate out from under my husband eating an appetizer. Rude waitress, rude checkout experience. Weird vibes. Shrimp cocktail was decent. Drinks were subpar. We left after apps.

The shrimp scampi pasta had a weird taste. I tried to let the waiter know but he totally didn't acknowledge my comment at all. I didn't complain until he asked if we wanted two boxes. I said no just one and told him why. He literally just walked away. My bowl was full so you could tell I didn't eat it. I wasn't looking to have it removed from our bill just to let them know. Very disappointed!

WOW. Everything was delicious. The mussels were some of the best and biggest I've ever had. We got two baskets of fresh bread which was so exciting. My roommate wanted a French 75, the server didn't know what it was, my roommate explained, and she came back with fabulous French 75. That is service I can get behind!! Come here. Be prepared to eat a lot and spend a penny. Everything is worth it. Long live Brennan's Fish House!
